I'm afraid to weigh myself
As the topic of this thread suggests, I have yet to actually take an initial weigh in. I put down around what I thought was my weight, but then though it might be less that that, so I changed it. Now my ticker says I lost 25 pounds, but I haven't. For all I know I am 25 pounds heavier than my initial weight. I'm just…

23y/o Vegetarian Female Back on the Wagon
Hi all. I've been away from MFP for about 7 months. In that time, I've gained back about 28 pounds, so my SW is now 250.5. GW is 165. So I'm looking at about 95 pounds to lose. Quick facts: -23 (almost 24) -Lacto/Ovo Vegetarian -Chicago (suburb) native -Desperately needing support to do this. I'm nice. I really am. I'll do…

Chicago Area Friends? Please?
I've been using MFP for a while now, but I graduated from college in May and I am now back in Chicago (Elgin) living with my family, who are completely unsupportive of my trying to lose weight, and all of my friends are either still in college or have moved away. So I literally have no friends here to support me. So if you…

Tentatively Coming Back
Okay, so I walked away from MFP back in like January, because I got so caught up in the numbers. I was only looking at calories, not nutrients. If I had 300 calories left over, I would eat some sort of junk to use the calories, not thinking that the junk, while within my calorie allotment was doing nothing for me health…

Same Sweater, One year apart
I wore the same sweater for my 21st birthday last year, and my 22nd birthday this year. I hadn't noticed how much I had changed until I saw the pictures side by side. I still have about 45 pounds to go, but it's pretty great to see my progress so far.

Anyone else "Phase Out" when binge eating?
I have a tendency, that when I binge eat, I phase out and don't realize what I'm doing until it's too late. It's like my brain shuts off and I eat my weight in something, and then after I stop eating (usually whenever I've devoured everything in sight), I "come to" and see everything I've just eaten and I feel so ashamed.…

150 calorie ice cream PER PINT
I found this great ice cream last night that is completely lactose free (great for lactose intolerants like me), and is only 150 calories for an entire pint. It's the Arctic Zone brand. The ice cream was pretty good for being so low in calories. It had more of a frozen yogurt consistency than an ice cream consistency. I…

Easter Dinner NSV
My roommates and I decided to go out to dinner for Easter. We chose an Italian restaurant in town, and immediately I was nervous. Italian food is one of my biggest triggers for binge/over eating, and this place was notorious for ridiculously large portions. So before we went, I made my two roommates come on a walk with me…

Food Attendant at Cafe Made Me Feel Fat :(
I've been pretty good lately in terms of confidence, self assurance, etc. But today something really bothered me. During my class this morning I had checked the nutrition facts for the food at one of my campuses cafe's, because I'd be going by said cafe on my way to work. I decided to get the Barbecue chicken salad,…

At Home Scales
I'm tired of having to use the scale at the rec center at my school and I want to get a scale of my own so I can weigh when it's convenient for me. But I don't know what brand I should get. Any ideas? I want to make sure it's pretty accurate.

Stupid Scales!
Well... it's official. I hate scales. When I left for school, my scale at home said I was 226.5. This morning I weighed myself at the rec here at school and it said I was 233. There is no way I could have gained almost 7 pounds in a week, when I have been under calories almost every day, worked out consistently and…

NSV: Thanks, Mulan, for Getting Me Through
I just wanted to try to run through one song. That's it. I am by no means a runner. My knees and ankles are wobly, my lungs feel like they are going to burst, and I'm so clumsy all I can think about is tripping over my feet and flying off the treadmill. But I had to try it. So I bumped the speed of the treadmill from 4.0…

Lacking Family/Friend Support
It's so hard to have family members just NOT GET IT. I mean really, yes I know it is a little more expensive to buy healthier foods compared to cheap, junk, but they are better for you in the end. I've had to start buying my own food because my grandparents keep telling me, "oh we already have that, we don't need any…

Bought a Spaghetti Squash today...

What the crap, Sodium?
Seriously, every single day I go over in Sodium. I don't know how, it seems like everything I eat is packed with it. So I guess my questions are: 1. How do I get it down? 2. Can I exercise it off? 3. Is there anything out there that won't put me over the sodium limit? It's hard too, because I live at college, so my food is…

Ohh the places I'll go...
As I have said in a couple previous posts, I am studying abroad in England next January, and I'd like to be in shape for that. However, before I go there, I will be spending a week in Florida this May and a month in Ireland during the last half of June/first half of July. So, I am going to try to make those dates some of…

Well Hiya!
Hey there. I've been using the app for a while but this is the first time I have been on the website. I'm afraid to weigh myself, but I have a vague idea of how much I weigh. I'm more concerned with clothing sizes than weight. Currently, I am wearing a women's 18, but I would like to get down to a women's 10 or twelve. I…
