Foods to help get over the flu?
I have been sick for about a week and a half now. What started as a tickle in my throat developed into a cold, then an earache and then I could barely move through weak limbs! So now I'm looking to recover and I'm wondering if anyone knows what foods are best to help my body get back into action?

Twins trades?
Okay, I'm fuming. Span, I was disappointed about but could potentially understand. Revere?! Now they've lost me. T_T

Don't drink your calories?
So I made a mistake today. I took advantage of a deal from Caribou for a $2 medium caramel drink. Look, it looks delicious! Yeah. That deliciousness was 850 calories, sickeningly sweet and altogether not worth it. In fact, I posted it on my diary and admitted to my faults and even some of my friends list can't believe it!…

Minnesota Winter.
I'm still not used to this cold even though I've been living here for 6 years. I'm not really a winter person. I don't like snow or snow sports. What do people DO in this cold weather apart from sip cocoa and wish that they could hibernate?!

Overcoming fear.
Or phobia. I guess I'm not quite sure which I have...hear me out. Ever since we got our first land-line phone when I was a teenager, I have had a fear of phones. I got a call from a man who was very angry, asked for me by name and then proceeded to yell at me for not coming to work. I was fourteen. I didn't have a job and…

My Personal Shopper Experience.
So I finally had my thrift-store personal shopper visit! I managed to get a few tops, a jacket, a pair of leggings, a pair of pants and a skirt. Along with a ring, a bracelet and a necklace all for $100. My experience was pretty good, except for I really don't know what size pants I am and the size 8's she brought for me…

If you COULD spot reduce...
...what area would you zap the fat from first? And GO.

Megan K Fitness, Uptown/Plymouth.
I don't know if anyone is interested, but my trainer is currently offering 2 free weeks of training for potential new clients. She has classes in Uptown on Tues/Thurs/Saturday and in Plymouth on the other days. I've been with her since March and I LOVE her classes. It's a group class for women and we're a diverse, fun…

Ouch! Biting issue.
My daughter occasionally bites when nursing now. I always make a point to pull her away and tell her no, 'ow, you hurt mommy', which generally makes her cry, but now her top teeth are coming in, I'm afraid she's going to chomp down! Is this something they grow out of with training or should I be prepared for the occasional…

Group hug!
I know for a fact I would not be where I am in my weight-loss journey without MFP. It's amazing how complete strangers all across the globe can inspire and encourage. And I'm feeling thankful. So come on. Let's hug it out.

TRULY supportive.
Are you TRULY supportive? I went with some ladies from my gym to a restaurant the other morning and they noticed a family having breakfast. The woman was wearing ill-fitting clothing, her shirt riding up and exposing her midriff. Some of the comments made by our little group made me slightly ashamed. Admittedly, she DID…

Personal shopper?
I was toying with the idea of hiring a personal shopper next year to help me better dress myself. Over the years, I've lost and gained weight, had two kids, moved overseas...styles, trends and designs have changed so much that I feel pretty overwhelmed! Has anyone had a successful personal shopper experience? Would you…

Mom jeans.

Pink is NOT a weak color!
Okay, so let's get over the fact that many 'lady' weights are pink. As are most feminine adult toys. Pink is NOT a weak color! MORE POWER FOR PINK! PINK PRIDE! RAWR!

Your NSV of the week!~
Post your Non-Scale Victory of the week! Mine was realizing I can use regular bath towels instead of beach towels after a shower! \o/

Guild Wars 2?
So, I caved. It's been a while since I've played an MMO and my husband and I decided it was time to find another. Guild Wars 2 seemed appropriate for the time considering there's no subscription fee. Does anyone else play? We had to play a game of computer-part-roulette to be able to make our computers run about equal.…

What's Up, Doc?
Okay. Let's be honest. How many people have consulted their physician before embarking on their fitness journey? Fess up.

The Talk...without Make Up.
I just watched a video on CNN about the recent The Talk show where the hosts went without makeup. I read a few blogs and news sites and there was a lot of commentary about how they need to put their makeup back on. Do you ladies wear makeup daily? Is it really that bad to go 'natural'? I occasionally put on some mascara…

Ginger.
I have some (slightly less than) fresh ginger in my fridge from a recipe a few weeks ago. I'm assuming it's still good (it's not growing anything on it) so does anyone have some good recipes containing ginger?

C25k: It begins again!
(Week One, Day One.) I started C25k a few months ago and found I couldn't keep up with the program due to my commitments to my children. Now my son is in Kindergarten, I'm starting again. (I felt bad expecting him to keep up or telling him to stand on the stroller as we jogged!) I have a few questions. ~ When I hit week 2…

Body fat question.
I just got weighed and measured today and everything is down from my previous weigh-in...but my body fat percentage is up? Even though I lost pounds AND inches? I am definitely not in-the-know enough to understand this, so can anyone explain to me why this may have happened? It's a little discouraging...

Pajamas!
Small NSV. I used to wear my husband's pajama pants (because I bought them for him because I think guys in pajamas are hot and he doesn't like them. Bleh). Yeeeeah...now they won't stay up. So this means I'm completely out of wearing oversized clothing and I'm likely gonna have to toss these pants! And I probably need to…

Who's excited for the State Fair?
I am! I have been going every year since I moved out here. It doesn't hurt that I live just up the road from the fairgrounds too. ;) I have planned to eat as much as I can at the fair and I'm going to attempt to log all of my calories that day, as sort of an experiment. I'm preparing for a major tummy ache afterward. XD

**** censorship!
Reading another thread here, the one regarding books becoming movies, it made me laugh how a name was starred out even though it's the common nickname for men named 'Richard'. (My husband refuses to call a British dessert by its common name, so he renamed it 'Bespeckled Richard'. I'm sure you can guess which!) I also had…

Which HRM do you own? What do you/don't you like about it? I'm looking into getting one, but I really don't know where to start!

But I don't wanna go down to the basement...
I have laundry to do. And my basement (in rented accommodation) is where the washer and dryer are. And there are SPIDERS down there. Don't make me do it. Someone save me. T_T Is there a room in your house you don't like going to? Spider infestations? SPOONS?!

Your favorite place to walk in MN?
I've been looking for more places to walk! Mainly Twin Cities, but I'm up for learning about awesome state parks/trails/etc in other areas of the state too.

I see food as calories.
In the beginning, I found logging my calories was fun. Kind of like a puzzle. If you want to eat a certain something, you might need to cut here or edit there to fit it into your daily allotment. Lately, I've just been bored of food. I think it's part to do with the fact that I now see food as calories. Originally I saw…
