Do these pants make my cat's butt look big? (pictures)
Yeti is cursed with a classic male spare tire/beer gut. We've tried getting him into heavy lifting, but he really just wants to lay around eating salami all day. I thought maybe some new trousers might motivate him to not be quite so lazy. But I'm concerned that maybe they are doing more harm to his self esteem than help.…

Tri Gear Recommendations needed
Ok - I'm looking at doing my first couple of sprint triathlons... I need to get a wetsuit and a pair of tri shorts - but haven't had any success finding them locally - the specialty shops seem to only carry the really expensive brands. I'm 5'10 and 169lbs and concerned about fit with online ordering. Most gear I've come…

365 days to a whole new me.... (w/ pictures)
Today is my 365th day on MFP. I have spent the last year changing my life and taking inspiration from the stories of others. This is mine. For most of my life, I was actually quite thin. Was not an athlete, but was blessed with a fairly fast metabolism, active(ly chasing my young children), and generally happy with who I…

XBOX Kinect Adventures as exercise??
Anybody else use any of the Kinect games as ways to get moving and keep yourself entertained? How do you log it into exercise? I figure if I play for 45 min straight and am sweating through half of it, it counts as something....but what? Have you tried the biggest loser one? Any feedback on that before I go out and buy it?…

womens tri suits??
I'm planning to do a sprint distance triathlon this summer - any advice on tri suits? Should I be planning to train in it as well? The open water swim is in a smaller lake, so water temp shouldn't demand a wetsuit. Thanks!! KP

Six months ago, I was too heavy to do THIS (NSV pic)
Now....nothing can stop me! *edited for size*

The war I'm waging....in my head
I've hit the part in this journey where I've had some awesome successes....lost over 50lbs to bring me within 20lbs of goal, became a runner, can shop in my favorite stores again and have changed my life in a million little ways. I have goals, and a pretty good idea at this point how to achieve them. What is frustrating…

I lost.......a kayak????? (progress w/ pic)
I've lost a lot of things...my car keys...my purse....some days my mind. But now? I've lost a kayak. Thats right....a kayak....and I couldn't be happier. I work in the outdoor sporting goods industry - so...I took this pic a few weeks ago, at the 40lbs lost mark...which happens to be a pound more than the catalog weight of…

My running NSV
Yesterday was my first official 5k. I did the couch to 5k program, but really struggled the final weeks...the best I had done on a training "run" was about 39 minutes, and had never run the entire 3.1 miles without some walking mixed in that last mile. My hope for the 5k - under 38 minutes. 36min was my "dream" time - as I…

Goodbye Intervals - Starting week 7 mid August?
This week starts week 7 for me. No more intervals....who's with me? I'm looking forward to the change - and to just trying to push a little farther each week. How about you? Nervous? Excited? Let me know how it goes for you. KP

Feeling discouraged :/
Need some advice/encouragement.... I had been cruising right along with C25K - repeating a day here and there, but for the most part staying pretty well on track. As I got into week 7 - was having trouble getting the full time in without walking when working out outside. I think, for me, it is a pacing issue - I'm really…

NSV today :)
Had a great day today - presentation for work went great. Have been feeling a little self conscious lately though - my clothes just aren't fitting right anymore - and I had gotten rid of most of the smaller stuff last fall. Had some time to kill before a late night flight, so I went to the mall. I bought pants. From Banana…

Week 5 starting August 6th
Any one else going into the dreaded week 5 this upcoming week? Let me know, and we'll tackle this one together :)

Who are you, and what have you done with.......ME????
NSV from today has me no longer recognizing myself. I am not an athlete....or a morning person. I've been working really hard at the C25K thing, just to prove I can though....at my own pace, taking longer than a calendar week for some "weeks". Today's plan....week 5, day 1....on my lunch hour on the treadmill or after…

I GUESS this is an NSV....
Like most women, I have a "favorite" pair of jeans. I found this pair 7 or 8 months ago at Lane Bryant - they were the only ones in my closet that I really liked the way I looked in. They are trendy - and made me look thinner. At my heaviest (April) - they were starting to get tight. Grrr... After a month and a half on MFP…

I could have put this in motivation/support, but.....
….but, I’d rather focus on the positives. Recently, I was faced with a dilemma. Let me start this by saying I am a chronic weigher. I know we are “supposed” to do that once a week. I, however, weigh myself twice a day – before bed, and officially each morning before eating. The fluctuations don’t bother me, and I feel it…

Have been doing so well....until today
Today was a rough one. Have been just kind of "off" all day, in a bit of a funk. Forgot an appointment, and had to leave work before my lunchtime walk....and forgot my shoes under my desk, derailing the evening walk. (I know, need a new pair of tennies so i have a spare) Then, this evening, my teenage daughter and her…

Favorite Restaurant Choices
I travel - A LOT - for work, and struggle to make reasonable, good meal choices on the road. I often need to grab a quick meal at an airport between flights, am getting into town late at night when choices are limited, but haven't eaten in hours, or entertaining customers. Anybody else out there got insight on how to manage…

FRUSTRATED :/
I'm still relatively new to MFP - been on here for just over a month. The food log (and phone app) have made me aware of what I was putting in my mouth for the first time in my life. I know.....at 41, I probably should have paid attention earlier....but it's a start. For that first month, things were rocking right along. I…
