Had a great day today - presentation for work went great. Have been feeling a little self conscious lately though - my clothes just aren't fitting right anymore - and I had gotten rid of most of the smaller stuff last fall. Had some time to kill before a late night flight, so I went to the mall.

I bought pants. From Banana Republic. AND THEY FIT ME. Ok - maybe a little snug - but not obscenely so. Best that way, or at the rate this has been going they would only fit for a few months. I am REDICULOUSLY excited about this. It has been at least 4 years or more since I could walk into a non-plus size store and buy pants. So then I went to the gap. And got jeans. Off the shelf. I'm very smugly wearing them home tonight.

Did I mention that I'm rediculously excited about this?

Ahhh.

Time to board the plane. In my comfy new jeans.

    Way to go!!. I hope that some day soon I'll be able to do that as well, as my entire adult life i've been nearly/or at plus size.

    I too have recently shopped on the non-plus side and when I tried on my first piece of clothing and it fit, I cried. All tears of joy of course since it had been many years since I was able to shop on the 'skinny' side of the store. Congrats on your victory! Very much well deserved, keep up the great work.

    That is really great, Kim. I wore a 36" waist pair of pants the other day for the first time in probably 7 years and I felt so good. With the few clothes I have that actually fit me, I have started tucking in my shirts which is something I used to avoid.

    It is these victories that make us get up at 5am to run even when we really don't feel like it.
