Enhance Pie Chart at Bottom of Food Diary
The Pie Chart at the bottom of the Food Diary is very useful. It could be made even better if the percentages from each category are automatically seen in the pie chart categories. Now to see the percentages, you have to run the mouse over the Pie Chart, and write them down, which is not much effort but it is two extra…

Just signed up for Premium trial. Interested especially in downloading the data into Excel. Download went fine. However, noticed the numbers match the totals from each meal category, there is an extra line at the bottom of the data which not label what the numbers represent, don't see the numbers on MFP food diary. Add note to daily Food Diary
I would like to make a note on my Food Diary for a specific date, i.e. today, Feb 13. Help says: Food notes appear on the "Food Diary" page in the "Food" tab. Click "Edit Note" to begin, and "Save Note" when you are finished. I don't see any Food notes on the page. I want to add a note to explain one of the foods I ate…

Recording Exercise
I use the Elliptical about 4 times a week, High Intensity Intervals, usually about 25 minutes. However, the 25 minutes is not just 25 minutes making the Elliptical go back and forth, it is "high intensity." Any way to record the HIIT minutes in MFP?

Understanding relationship between Total Calories (kcal) and Total Carbs (g)
So far today, my Total Calories is 722 and Total Carbs is 29. I am trying to calculate the % of my total carbs to total calories, bit of problem doing the formula. I know there are 4 calories in 1 gram, so total Carb calories would be 29 x 4 = 116. Would the correct formula be 116/722, the result being 16.06%, i.e. 16% of…

Giving blood plus snacks
I wish food entries/recording had a place for notes. I gave blood today and the snacks I ate at the time blows my daily intake almost into orbit. If there were a place for notes like on the exercise input, then I could make a note otherwise I may not remember 3 months from now.

Puzzled: last two days 'gaining' weight?
Losing weight I know requires but hard to practice 'patience.' As of Monday, I had lost 21 # since Jan 30. I follow a diabetic diet religiously, look forward to and go daily to the Y doing cardio on Elliptical and strength training on the circuit. But since Monday I have added 2.2 #. I drink 14 oz water daily, low carbs…

How does MFP calculate my weight loss number on my home page?
MFP is showing 7 # weight loss on My Home page. How does MFP calculate this number or for what period of time? This number is close to what I have lost in last 12 days but I have been tracking what I have lost since Jan 30 is 21 #. Can I edit the time period for this number? Thanks

Different Profile Picture
An expected and an okay question might be "How does my new profile picture have anything to do with motivation?" I was privileged to have had the opportunity to volunteer for the draft and serve 2 years in the United States Army 1963-1965. My job took me to Germany where I had another privilege and that was to serve in the…

Better more effective way to lose weight
Lots of stuff out there we all know telling us 'here's the best way to lose weight,' and most all are good, etc. In addition to trying to keep committed to MFP, I have been going faithfully to the Y but was not sure I was getting the most benefit of my time there. Just by searching and not giving up, I have come across a…

More reasons why
More reasons why I use MFP, why I take the extra time to record everything I eat, keep my commitment to go to the Y each day for my 2 hour workout than to have a healthy life and lose weight. I served our beloved America 2 years active duty in Army at beginning of Vietnam war but went to Germany instead and was there when…

Copy food diary - one or two entries from one date to another
A number of my food diary entries I use again the next day or next several days. It would save lots of time to be able to copy single entries from a previous date to my current date. Someone has suggested copy the whole page and then delete. This would take as much time as I am now doing plus I may want to copy a previous…

Difference in calories burned on Elliptical and what MFP says
I usually spend 35 minutes on the Elliptical at YMCA and calories burned shows around 200 or bit higher. MFP for 35 minutes shows 703. Why the big difference? Could it be that MFP knows my weight and age and I don't enter this in the Elliptical at the Y?

Difference in using Food and Food Diary to enter what you eat

How to determine serving size
My wife prepared a dish tonight called Hobo Casserole - very very good! The recipe she used gives the provides the nutritional information. But here is where I always have a problem, determining how much I am putting on my plate. For bread, serving size is 1 slice-very easy to understand. For the Hobo Casserole the service…

Today Dec 13 "GO ARMY = BEAT NAVY"
I hope this post will be allowed in good fun. I served 2 years (volunteered - not drafted) 1963-1965, beginning of Vietnam War, and I love the Army. Navy has won last 11 games. If permitted, I would go back in today and volunteer to be a boot on the ground to go after those killers of Americans in Syria and other…

Is here a way to plan a days eating plan without it being recorded
I can see from my daily recordings that some foods are low or high in nutrition. Example I am trying to zero in on sugar sources. I would like to set up a model so to speak to plug in different foods and see what the effect would be for various nutrition items like sugar, this to help me plan a meal before eating it and…
