Better more effective way to lose weight

Lots of stuff out there we all know telling us 'here's the best way to lose weight,' and most all are good, etc. In addition to trying to keep committed to MFP, I have been going faithfully to the Y but was not sure I was getting the most benefit of my time there. Just by searching and not giving up, I have come across a number of sources all supporting the way to best benefit from exercise, whether at the Y, walking, swimming, on and on, is not spending hours. It seems to be credible going back to the 60's with Dr. Cooper. Dr. Mercola is a medical doctor.
