Early bird training
I am starting back at University next week, and since it is a postgrad I will be in uni every day, 9am - 5pm, and will either be working at night or studying. I am hoping to fit my exercise around this by going to the gym before class at 9am. I am NOT a morning person so getting up will be a challenge. I wanted to ask if…

Give me your smoothie recipes!
Made my first one today - Banana and Peach with Vanilla yoghurt. It was good but a bit too milky, I still need to get the hang of this. I am looking for recipes with avocado, kale, peanut butter, all kinds of fruit and veg (not all in the one smoothie though!) I find it hard to eat all my calories so I was told smoothies…

Food intolerances and Coeliac Disease
Hi, A year ago I was 'diagnosed' with IBS. Not sure what triggered it but since then I have went through phases of about 4 - 6 weeks where I find my stomach unable to take on anything gluten related. I am not sure whether I have an intolerance to wheat or whether it is just whenever my IBS flares up. This usually happens…

Just wondering what sort of protein snacks I can buy in for during the day? I know there is trail mix, anything else?

Bloating
So for most of my life my stomach has had a bloated look and sticks out a lot. Despite losing weight all over my body my stomach seems to stay the same. I have been weight lifting since November but haven't seen an improvement. There were a couple of times when I suffered from food poisoning and my stomach was almost flat…

Upcoming music gigs?
So anyone planning to see their favourite band/musician/singer this year? I went to a few gigs last year but not as many as I used to due to back problems. Already have a few lined up for this year and I am extremely excited to see Vader/Aborted/Bonded by Blood on tuesday. Can't beat a good metal gig in my opinion! What…

A question for the ladies who lift..
So I have been wondering for a while, for all of you women out there who lift heavy, do you feel your libido has increased? I was discussing it with my boyfriend who suggests maybe the fact that I lift and it could be due to that, something to do with testosterone levels. Although I am aware women have a LOT less than men…

Losing a Dress Size?
Hi, I have been a UK size 14 (US 10 or 12?) for years now. In total, from MFP and before I joined here I have lost about 20lbs however I still fit into my 14 jeans, although I do need to pull them up or use a belt. I am a pear shape, with the women in my family having biggers butts, hips and thighs. I tried on a size 12…

Should I lose fat before weight training?
Hi! I am re-joining the gym tomorrow and am wanting to start weight lifting. I have always admired women with strong muscular bodies and want to become one! However I am unsure whether to stick to cardio first to lose fat and then start weight training, or can I combine cardio and weight training? Will my body still come…

Daily Calories for a 6ft woman who lifts
Hi all! I started lifting a month ago and I am really enjoying it. I can already feel myself getting stronger and have dropped half a stone (whether that is because of lifting or something else, who knows). To be honest, I am not bothered about my weight since I know I will put on muscle eventually, I am more happy with…

3 - 4lbs lost in 4 days?
Hi all. I restarted MFP for good on Sunday. I started at 12 stone 6lbs and this morning I weighed myself and I was 12 stone 2lbs. I have been eating a lot less than usual but I genuinely do not have an appetite right now. I have also exercised 4 times this week with weights and swimming. Is the first few pounds lost water…

Too much protein?
So I am 40 grams over on my protein today, is this bad? I am strength training at the gym and took a protein shake afterwards which pushed it over my daily goal. I make sure I don't go over on my calories, carbs or fat but I'm not very clued up about protein yet! Any help will be appreciated :)

Needed: Ladies who Lift!
Hi Ladies! Okay, so I have been on the message boards for a while (mainly reading) and I have saw a lot of women posting about lifting. Also, I have saw many users say that lifting helps reduce belly fat (which is my main problem area). I'm really interested in learning more and perhaps starting to lift myself. Any hints…

Foods easy on the stomach
I had pretty bad food poisoning yesterday, still not really sure what caused it. Anyway I could only hold down a yoghurt and a Slimfast drink last night as I was being sick during the day. My stomach is still pretty sensitive and crampy but at least the sickness has stopped. I was wondering if anyone knew of foods that…

30 Day Shred
I've been thinking about getting Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred to make sure I exercise each day. I live in Scotland and started running during summer but now due to our lovely climate it is near impossible to go out running without the weather turning into a storm! I was hoping to get some feedback from people who have…

6ft Woman's Ideal Weight?
Hi there, I am 20 years old and stand at 6ft. I am not sure what weight I am supposed to be. Right now I am 12st 1lb (169lbs) and I am wanting to get down to 11st (154lbs). Is this healthy? I do have fat to lose but my BMI is healthy (23.3) and I don't want to overdo it. However I want to lose the fat first and then start…
