Food intolerances and Coeliac Disease

Hi,
A year ago I was 'diagnosed' with IBS. Not sure what triggered it but since then I have went through phases of about 4 - 6 weeks where I find my stomach unable to take on anything gluten related.
I am not sure whether I have an intolerance to wheat or whether it is just whenever my IBS flares up. This usually happens when I am upset, run down or stressed but I have experienced no stress whatsoever recently.
I was tested for Coeliac (or Celiac) Disease a few months ago and it turned up negative but many of my symptoms fit the bill such as bloating (to the extent I look pregnant), running to the loo several times a day to hardly ever in a week, hair is very thin and casts a lot, tiredness and headaches.
I cut out wheat from my diet for two weeks and the symptoms decreased (bar the hair loss) then I had some over the weekend and I feel as if I am back to square one.
Should I go for another test to rule out Coeliac or perhaps it could just be a generic intolerance?
Has anyone else experienced this? Many thanks in advance.

It has gotten to the stage where it has affected my work and is making me feel very upset and fed up, however when I try and cut out wheat I have been sticking to salads and soup which hardly fills me up and GF food is expensive!0

Some people claim to feel better removing wheat from their diet despite not testing positive for coeliacs
If you think cutting out wheat is helping you with your IBS I think you should do it.
If you are stuck for what to eat paleo recipes are always wheat free so you could look into that and see if anything appeals to you.
EDIT: You could still eat rice, meat and dairy? They should fill you up!0 -
I think I will stick with it to see what happens. It's horrible feeling like this!0

Have you tried a low carb diet, filling up on lots of meat, fish, eggs, cheese and green veggies?
It works for many coeliacs and IBS sufferers.
Hope you're feeling better soon0 -
I haven't nope! I think I was too scared I may accidentally ingest something bad so I stuck to safe foods. Also I usually work 2pm - 11pm shifts so I will probably start cooking up something at lunch time to take with me to fill me up instead of soup!
Thank you0 -
I get the brown rice and pasta made with brown rice from the Bulk Barn and I'm fine and it fills me up. There's lots of GF crackers and chips out there now that I find help with the afternoon munchies with a bit of hummus. I try to have just fish or chicken with salad and veggies for dinner and it helps with the digestion.
Good luck.
