Too much protein?

So I am 40 grams over on my protein today, is this bad?
I am strength training at the gym and took a protein shake afterwards which pushed it over my daily goal. I make sure I don't go over on my calories, carbs or fat but I'm not very clued up about protein yet!
Any help will be appreciated

MFP has low requirments.
Make sure to get between .8 and 1g of protein for lb of body weight.
Any extra will be utlized by the body by being converted to glucose.0 -
