Any women out there who love to pump iron? Would love to get a thread going on your favorite sets, trouble areas, lifting supplements, preferred equipment, etc. Lets start with this... The Gifts of Imperfection
I am reading a book by the same title as this post. The author is researcher and storyteller Brene Brown. It's exceptional for those who struggle with shame, perfectionism, and other dark emotions - which can all impact our motivation. She writes about the power of vulnerability (I can just imagine all the people reading…

Attn: BodyBugg, BodyMedia and other Calorie Tracker Users
This is for those of you who use an electronic Calorie Tracker like BodyBugg or BodyMedia: I have stepped up my training regimen and noticed over the past 2 weeks that my BMR has gone up 200 points. Shame Tactics
Here is an excellent article about the problem with Shame Tactics often used by high profile (or even local amateur) fitness, sports and other types of coaches/instructors: http://www.amplifyingperformance.com/blog/the-SHAME-factor.html There are people who think that these coaches use "Tough Love". I don't think "tough…

Rest Day - YUCK!
Ok... so I am a gym junkie. I LOVE my daily workout. I lift weights for about 1.5 - 2 hours a day (up to 2.5 hours on a weekend day if the weather is crappy). I also walk for my cardio (4mph min. for 5 miles min). I generally lift 4-5 days a week and walk 3-4. Which means I sometimes do both walking and lifting on the same…
