I've had a number of requests to share my weight lifting plan... so I wrote a blog entry in response:

The sum of it is that I don't plan my lifting routine. I assess how my body is feeling and decide then what to do.

It occurred to me that not everyone is versed in the process of "listening" to their body. Fortunately, muscles soreness is pretty obvious. But for those who are impulse driven, I expect that even that message can be overridden or ignored.

An interesting thread might be HOW people get into a mode to listen to their body. In my blog I mention my little gym ritual which gets my mind ready to listen.

What do other people do?

If I listened to my body, I would never get my fat *kitten* out of bed LOL.

Actually though this is really only my 3rd week actually exercising and I am amazed how much an improvement in a short amount of time. I've gone from 30 minutes to walk a mile, to walking 2 miles in half hour and now throwing in a 30 day shred on top of that. Granted sometimes I feel like I want just collapse but I keep pushing through and then I feel great about 10 minutes after I am all done.
