The Gifts of Imperfection

I am reading a book by the same title as this post. The author is researcher and storyteller Brene Brown. It's exceptional for those who struggle with shame, perfectionism, and other dark emotions - which can all impact our motivation. She writes about the power of vulnerability (I can just imagine all the people reading this who just said "huh?") and authenticity.
The coolest thing, though, is that this is all based on research. Brene Brown has a PhD and is a research professor. The book is based on 10 years of documented research. This is important to my left brain which demands some science to back up all that touchy feely stuff.
Anyone else have some good books about human behavior that are backed up with research?
