Hello and Fitbit friends?
Hi! I have been on my fitness pal for a while but I'm trying to become a little more active again. I just purchased a fitbit and I was wondering if there are groups for it? Or if anyone wants to be friends so we can do challenges? Thanks guys ❤

What tracker should I get?
I am pretty poor so this is a huge investment for me and I want to make the right choice. I have been looking at either a Fitbit Zip, One, or Ultra. I have done my research and I understand the One is water resistant, so that is a big thing. I don't want my sweat to break it in the first month since I won't be able to buy…

Green Smoothies
Does anyone here make a daily (or semi-daily) green smoothie? My blender does a surprisingly fine job at it (I was looking into a $400 vitamix!) but I can't seem to get the taste right. I figure my taste buds will adjust over time. I am trying to make them without adding any sweetener such as honey or splenda (which I have…

Tony Little Gazelle
While looking for an affordable elliptical or stationary bike I found a gazelle for $20 which is an excellent price. It is basically in new condition. However, it seems to get mixed reviews. I like that is is low impact but I don't want to "waste my time" (which is what some reviewers said they felt like they were doing).…

Does the heat help you burn more calories?
I know this is probably a silly question but I am genuinely curious. Will you burn more calories going for a mile walk say at 1pm than you would at like 6-7pm? I live in Florida so it is 89 degrees here right now. I just went for a walk and noticed I sweat A LOT more. Of course it is because it is hotter out but I am…

Aldi Fruits and Veggies
Does anyone else shop here? They are crazy cheap for their fruits and veggies. I recently went and got a pint of strawberries for .99 cents, an 8 oz container of mushrooms for $1, a bag of spinach for $1. However, I seem to notice they go bad VERY quickly! I got this stuff on Tuesday and the I just checked the mushrooms,…

Exercise equipment from Walmart
Hi all! I got a $50 gift certificate to Walmart for Mommy's Day! I want to get some equipment or tools to help in my journey. Do you have any suggestions? I was looking at this: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Drive-Medical-Deluxe-Folding-Exercise-Peddler-with-Electronic-Display/12248733 but not sure how great of a work out I'd…

Beginner Weight Circuit
Hi all! I found this video on nerdfitness.com that someone had posted here. I had a couple of questions if someone could assist me :) I posted on the Nerd Fitness forum but thought I would cross post here in case someone here could assist! Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvhHhDNjtxM I have been eating…

Running/jogging with bad knees?
I have heard many times that running is bad on your joints but I notice A LOT of runners on here. A few of my friends are also avid runners and they say once you start it can be addicting. If someone has a bad knee, is it ill advised to try and jog or run? I popped my knee out of joint once a couple of years back. It was…

For those with a BodyMedia Fit Armband...
I just got mine in the mail today and I had a couple of questions for those that own one. I am a little confused on how to wear it. A lot of pictures online show it on the side of the arm, as if you are standing to the side the person would see it in the middle of your upper left arm. However, it says to place it on the…

30 lbs in 3 months?
Is that doable? Right now I am at a rate of 2 lbs a week which I know is good and healthy. However, since I was over my head in finals and work I haven't exercised at all. The 2 lbs a week have been on diet alone. I weigh 251 now and would like to weigh 220 by July 9th. I have that set as my next goal and that would put me…

Family sabbotaging you?
Mini rant here. My Mom (who is also overweight and diabetic but supposedly trying to lose weight) keeps bringing me my favorite candy, milkshakes, ice cream... I mean this list goes on and on. I don't eat any of it but it is SO frustrating!! I'm really stressed out with finals in college right now and she brings me home a…

What supplements do you take?
I am just curious. Sometimes I feel like I take too many. My doctor is huge on supplements/vitamins, even for a healthy diet. Here were his recommendations: Rainbow Light Women's One Multivitamin (I have used Rainbow Lite since I was pregnant. It was the only vitamin I wouldn't throw up. So after I had my kids I switched…

Too many greens?
I have recently adopted a mostly vegetarian diet. I have been following the book "Eat to Live" which recommends a pound of raw and a pound of cooked veggies a day. I'm not quite sure if I have been hitting a pound or not but my stomach is seriously upset. I ate 2 cups of cooked cabbage last night and a cup of bok choy and…

A cool app, Fooducate!
One of my friends told me about this app (On Android, not sure about iPhone) called Fooducate. You can scan food UPCs and it gives a grade on the food, plus comments and warnings about ingredients. I have already started going through my pantry  It will be super handy on shopping trips! She said she thought the…

Sodium
I recently added sodium to my food diary. It gives me under 2,500 as a goal. I know sodium isn't great for us and it does make us retain water. My question is... how much sodium is too much sodium? I know MFP can be off in their goals sometimes. Is 2,500 too high? Jen

The best soup ever - Ribollita
I am seriously obsessed with this soup. I decided to put it into MFP recipe and it came out to 211 per serving!! Not bad. It is so delicious and has many good things for you in it. Keep in mind that the original recipe has bacon and sourdough bread in it (omg to die for) but since I am cutting out a lot of meat, I leave…

Panic Disorder and Exercise?
Does anyone else here have panic attacks? I have been scared to exercise since they started back in March of last year. I can walk without much problem but as my heart rate starts to climb I start freaking out and feel as if a panic attack is coming on. Just curious if anyone else deals with these and how they work…

Hi Everyone! New Here.
Hello! My name is Jen and I am 27 years old. I am from Ocala, Florida and I have two kids, a beautiful girl age 6 and a rambunctious boy age 2. I have been overweight since about 6th grade, out of nowhere the weight started piling on. I am at my highest now, fluctuating between 250-260. While I have wanted to lose weight…

Panic Attacks?
Does anyone else here suffer from panic attacks? Mine randomly onset in March on my way to Disney World for a family vacation (worse time ever, right?). I was taken to the hospital and they told me I was having a panic attack. Since then I have had anxiety daily and a few more attacks with no triggers whatsoever. Yesterday…
