Front Squat w/ Push Press
I hate them... with a burning passion. I hate the hand & arm position of front rack. And because I hate them I'm even more determined to kick them in the rump! *edited to fix my lack of editing before hitting send*

I thought it would be nice to have a little corner of MFP to have a safe place to discuss our journeys. It's nice to have company on this journey to be healthy!

Airports & Travel Post Weight Loss
I'm getting ready to take my first flight since losing 83 pounds. I haven't changed my drivers license or any gov't id since losing the weight. (I'm too cheap to change something that isn't expired!) I clearly look different now. Anyone else travel with pre-weightloss IDs? Did you get heckled by the TSA?

Fitness Victory
Forget NSVs... I've moved on to gym/fitness victories. Today I did 5 semi-assisted pull ups. (My trainer had his hands under my knees as I pulled myself up! He swears he didn't help at all but I have my doubts.) A year ago, I would have never dreamed of even being able to do one!

Misleading Number of Servings
Since weighing and/or measuring your portions, have you found any products that do not yield the number of servings it claims on the label? So far the two that I've been noticing that don't yield the number of servings it claims: natural crunchy peanut butter & pasta. The crunch peanut butter claims 14 servings. I NEVER…

Waist Measurements
I've been getting some conflicting results on the best place to take your waist measurements. Originally, I was told to take it at your natural bend when you lean over. When I first started with the training program, that's where my first measurement was taken. The last few assessments I noticed that the person was taking…

NROL4W or Something Else? Recommendations Needed
I've been doing strength training for awhile now. (8-9ish months). I've been increasing my weights but I still at times feel clueless of what to do when I'm at the gym. (I do work with a trainer once a week and usually repeat workouts we've done together and playing with the amount of weight) I've been happy with the…

PB2 Question
I have a recipe for peanut butter pie that I'd like to make. Someone suggested using pb2 instead of Better than Peanut Butter like the recipe called for (and I just happen to get my pb2!). It calls for 1/3 cup of reconstituted pb2. My question is does 2 tbs of the dry powder = 2 tbs reconstituted?

No More Fat Kid! *pic heavy*
Dec 2011, I decided that I was sick of being the fat kid. My dad had lost a lot of weight and when he weighed 213. I decided that I was going to get myself into gear. I started off slowly by making little changes. (stop drinking pop, walking a mile, start recording my food) As I made progress, I started creating new goals…

What do you wear on race day?
I'm running my first 10k on Thanksgiving Day. The high is supposed to be 59* that day. I'm an indoor runner and a get a bit wimpy outside in the weather so I'm clueless as to what to wear on race day. So what do you like to wear on a race day when it's cold outside?

for those who eat back exercise calories
When did you decide it was time to start eating back your exercise calories? Have you done it from the start? Were you successful losing weight without eating back but then got to the point where you got stuck? I've lost 55 lbs without really eating back my calories (eating 1200-1300 calories a day). I have roughly 19 more…

Protein Suggestions
My protein intake has been fairly low lately and my trainer has suggested protein drinks or adding whey protein to different things. I rather not drink my calories so I'm looking for some more food options to add to my diet. Right now my big sources of protein are: chicken, lean turkey, salmon, quiona, and some diary.…

Activity Level
I just transferred to a new job and was wondering if I need to to adjust my activity level on here.I have had my activity level set at "lightly active". At my old job, a good chunk of my work was at my desk but I was up and about all the time. I was losing weight at at a fairly good pace (roughly 1.5 lbs a week... give or…

Buying Clothes During Weight-loss
What is/was your approach to buying clothes during the weight-loss journey? I'm down a whole pants size now (a pant size that I've been in for at least the last 7 years). If I wear a belt very tightly, I can keep my pants up. I am also still able to wear some of my skirts. But the skirts are becoming looser and looser and…

BL Cardio Max Weight Loss Question
I unfortunately can't afford a HRM right now to calculate my calories burned so I was wondering how I should calculate a rough estimate of how much I burn during the work out. I've been putting it under "aerobics, general" but didn't know if it should be under "high impact" or what. Or is there another way to get a rough…

Looking for support
I restarted my weight loss journey just before Christmas when I decided to stop drinking pop and exercising. About a month ago, I decided to start using the myfitnesspal app that I had downloaded during my first attempt to lose weight last year. I'm just under 5' 1" and started off at 213.2 lbs. I'm currently down 15.4…
