Switch to a new trainer... Dead lifting with kettlebells? that gets easy and boring quick!

I usually weigh myself every day but I'm on vacation. But my dad and I weighed ourselves the night before Christmas eve and then again on Christmas night. It says I'm up 9 lbs but I know it was was impossible for me to eat 31,500 extra calories in 2 days. I woke up this morning and already "lost" 4 of those pounds.

It's important to remember that the gym isn't the way Planet Fitness makes it seem on commercials. Go in with a plan and don't be afraid to ask questions. I made some life long friends at my old gym (sadly, I moved too far away from that gym to continue going).

I prefer side planks for some reason.

Right now I'm doing 3 sets of 90 secs... the longest I've held it is 3 minutes.

Having lived in Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland & now South Carolina (Just outside of Charlotte, NC).... I can say the hardest thing about living in the south is the southern hospitality. I feel bad for refusing foods that are offered to me. People like to give me a hard time for eating healthy. And I'm not sure why we have to…

To original poster: If you want to do it for religious, then go for it. That's between you and God. But a Daniel Fast isn't a requirement in the Christian faith. The Bible calls for us to fast but I suggest you read up on what Jesus has to say about how to fast.

I'm at the halfway mark for stage 3. The BWM feels like death but I get through it in a a fairly decent time of 3ish minutes. I've been skipped the YTWLs. They are annoying and they don't really do anything for me.

I finally got the front squat form down! Now working on that transition to push press. I hate it!!!

My workouts & runs are usually timed where it is time for my next meal shortly after so I'm eating within 30 minutes of finishing. For me, I don't really worry about other types of snacks/recovery foods.

Well this would explain why I never get the actual number of servings it says I should get in a container of peanut butter!

Who says you only have to do one of those things? Mix it up if you are board? Zumba one day, insanity another day, etc... I get board pretty easily so my routine isn't the same every day. I do lift 3 days a week and then run 2 days a week. But my lifting days aren't exactly the same each day (I'm doing New Rules of Lifting…

Because it is the only day when I don't have to put time constraints on my workout...

I'm in stage 2 and I'm bored. Switching between just 2 different workouts is odd to me.

I'm up to 55 lbs. After talking to my lifting buddy/previous roommate, I don't feel so horrible because she has been lifting for years and struggles with the front squat. I also noticed in my last attempt that the transition from the squat to the press messes up my hand position. I'm going to back the weight down to just…

I still had trouble with them. I've figured out that it's not so much the hand position as it is balancing the bar. I'm pretty petite and my shoulders aren't wide so I'm all cramped up. This is becoming very frustrating.

Good Luck!

I just found this video on youtube. It had some good tips and I sure hope it helps me with my front squat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9hSvdKxYEk

I don't use a smith machine. Before I started squatting heavy, I did a lot of body weight squats, front squats w/ kettle bells, dumbbells... I don't know if that helped or not. At my old gym, I had a few female friends who lifted heavy that I watched. At my new gym, there are maybe 3 of us who lift.

Thanks! You can do it, too!

When I first started DLing, I had some lower back soreness.

When I started seriously lifting weights in Jan/Feb I weighed 125, I currently weigh 135. I maintained during stage 1. I'm down a few inches and my clothes fit fine. I'd prefer to be 127 but oh well... I'm not. Who cares if the BMI scale says 135 is "overweight" for me. I bet my BF% says otherwise. I see physical changes…
-
Feel free to add me. I'm doing my rest week this week and start Stage 2 next week. I've been logging every day for almost 2 years. I had some great female lifting friends but I moved to a new state and surrounded by all guys in the weights.

I prefer using gloves. I got mine at Target. I've recently lost my pair and it's just annoying to having callouses on my hands.
-
Awesome! Keep up the hard work!

You need a new psychiatrist. I can't think of a reasonable reason why to tell someone who is in normal BMI with a history of disordered eating and self image problems to use diet pills or even losing more weight.

Income wise: I would be taking any type of job that you could part time to supplement your income. I would also see if you could qualify for temporary assistance from the gov't for food stamp like programs. Food wise: Do you have any stores like Aldi's or Save a Lot? Aldi's is really cheap and has their own "Fit & Active"…

I don't see the need to go back to the start. I wouldn't stop to just focus on "fixing" squat form. It's okay to scale back weight for awhile and really focus on form while doing squats.

Time to go to bed!

Curling in the squat rack! I didn't know it was pet peeve until I started at a new gym. This didn't really happen at my old gym.
