I'm back. I'm stronger mentally. And I'm committed!
I've struggled with my weight since I was a teen. Over the years I had various eating disorders which were treated with varying degrees of success. I ballooned up to a whopping 120kg (264lb) due to incredibly poor mental health. In 2022 I hit rock bottom and over the course of 8 months lost 60kg (132lb). But I was…

It's now or never!
Hey guys, So I've been on and off MFP for as long as I can remember but I'm to stay. A bit of a back story... I've been treated for various eating disorders that plagued me for years. From abusing laxatives, binging/purging, severe restricting to overeating, I've found myself in a position where I no longer trust my views…

working out with both a fit bit and HRM
How would this work? I don't want to double up on exercise calories but like an honest idea of how many steps I've taken as well as an accurate knowledge of calories burned in exercise

What exercise can I do with a ruptured achilles?
So...I've torn my achilles (JUST as I was starting to enjoy running!) and don't want to stop exercising. I am currently in a moon boot with a high chance of being transferred to a cast on Wednesday. I'm smack bang in the middle of C25K and obviously can't do that for a while! What exercises can I do? I'm going to have to…

Help me please!!!!
I'm currently working 12noon - 8pm shift at work (on the phones, at a desk. Bleurgh). I have just got back from a trip to Rarotonga to discover I have gained 5kg, which was to be expected really. I slowly fell off the wagon before my trip and am struggling to come up with meal ideas to get back into it. I want to make sure…

1 year and 20kg down! Photos

Tomorrow marks two years since the earthquake
hit that changed life as I know it. I will be spending the day remembering my friend Jamie who was killed and thinking about all the positive things I have in my life. If you could spare a thought for us in Christchurch tomorrow that would be greatly appreciated. Also, for the record, since September 2010 we have had over…

Hey all you KIWIS/AUSSIES (scales q)
I need a reliable set of scales. I have a set at home (weight watchers ones) and they're BOLLOCKS! I'll stand on them...weigh an amount then stand on them immediately afterwards and weigh 5kg more. I dont trust them lol. What scales or brands do you recommend?

My FIRST MAJOR NSV!
So...on Saturday I ran my first 5k...and I ran the whole way! Didn't stop once! It took me 42 minutes but 3 months ago I couldn't even run 3 minutes without having to stop for a walk. Feeling pretty impressed right now

15kgs and not much difference?
Heeeeey, So I've lost nearly 15kgs (33lb)...I've been taking photos in my undies every few weeks and CAN'T SEE A DIFFERENCE!! I can feel a difference in certain clothes but thought that with that much weight lost that photos would show me looking better. But they don't seem to be. WAAAAAH! Has this happened to anyone else?

Really Really Struggling...help
Hey, I have never officially been diagnosed with an ED but I know I'mnot right. Here goes... I weighed 53kgs and used to hate myself. I starved myself and binged, then vomited. The vomiting wasnt a regular occurance...however I began to binge more and more. The last 5 years have been a cycle of starving, binging, vomiting…

C25K...how long will it take
I'm currently doing C25K (week 3, day 3) and I want to sign up for a 10k run. Something to aim for. How long do you think it will take me to get there? I'm doing well with the app and can feel my fitness coming along quickly. How many months away should I book the run?

How do you know if you are eating too few calories?
How do you know if you're eating too few calories? I exercise lots and eat when I'm hungry but hardly ever get to 1200 calories. The only way I can think of doing this is by stopping at McDonalds on the way home and surely that cant be good for you? I dont want my body to go into starvation mode but dont know how few is…

How do you stop the "apron effect?"
This might be too personal...but I was wondering how your skin reacted to weight loss? I have 70lbs to lose and am concerned I'll be left with an "apron" or saggy skin. I'm doing both cardio and weights (in the form of pump and other gym classes). Is there a sure fire way to stop this happening?

Benefits of a heart rate moniter?

Anyone know about PHENOCAL?
Hey, Does anyone on here have any experience with Phenocal? I've been online (www.tryphenocal.com) and have googled it but would love advice from people I know arent getting paid to endorse it lol. I'm not looking for a miracle pill...just something to help boost metabolism and endorse weight loss.

How much weight do you have to lose before it starts
to show? And what happens if you constantly go under calorie for the day? It says the body goes into starvation mode, but if you're eating small amounts through out the day (and not eating all at once) then would your body still go into that state? Or would it understand that food was coming at regular intervals and not…
