HELP ME PLEASE!!

I'm currently working 12noon - 8pm shift at work (on the phones, at a desk. Bleurgh). I have just got back from a trip to Rarotonga to discover I have gained 5kg, which was to be expected really.

I slowly fell off the wagon before my trip and am struggling to come up with meal ideas to get back into it. I want to make sure I'm choosing well and not just "fitting my macros" if that makes sense?

Can you please take a minute to check out my diary and maybe provide some feedback and ideas? I leave notes with my diary also and would appreciate it if the negative comments were kept to a minimum. I like constructive criticism!

I find I snack quite a bit during the day and have figured out its due to boredom when it's quiet at work.

You only have one day of your diary done, I am guessing since you were on a trip. I can say that I gained 10lbs on a 4 day trip and that all came off within a week or so by just going back to regular eating watching my food and drinking water. So much will settle out on its own if you don't nibble all day. Try to make sure you eat items with good amounts of protein and veggies for lunch and dinner and I usually eat a nice protein breakfast too. I also keep some almonds portioned out for snacks and drink green tea.

Everyone is different and will have different ideas. I do a nice spinach salad with 1 oz feta and 1 T Cranraisins with balsalmic vinegar and 6oz of fajita steak strips for lunch with yogurt (o% fat) and fruit. I also do a faux buffalo chicken with chicken tenders seared with franks hot sauce and garlic powder. Hopefully you will get alot of ideas here. Another suggestion is try to go 2-3 20-30 minute HITT excercises during the week before work. They burn more calories in less time.

    Good luck

Looks like pretty good choices to me, I think you're doing fine.

I really like delmaine lentils atm for lunch, you can buy a can of 2 serves, I chuck some watties canned chicken in as well, if you can make a sauce or pick a flavoured can of chicken it tastes quite good. I also get quinoa from the bulk bins, a serve is half a cup dry (before cooking)and put whatever you have with it, needs other flavour though it tastes bland otherwise. Both of those can be made up before you go to work for your tea/lunch.

Cant really give much constructive critiscm cause you havent been logging for very long :) if you're bored at work can you take a crossword puzzle book, something of that nature to keep you occupied? Although 1500 cals you're logging is fine if thats including your snacks. Add me as a friend if you like, im in timaru

Guessing that your sodium level is pretty high on this day, so that may make you retain water. Didn't see a lot of veggies, so maybe incorporate more? I think that if you are at the office and just munching out of boredom, you might figure out some alternate things you can do. The tea is a great idea. Maybe some stretches at your desk? Take a quick lap around the office? Drink extra water so you feel more full?

One day is tough to gauge, though. Maybe just keep logging and cut back on the boredom eating, and see how that helps. At least then you will have more data for people to look at. Good luck!
