NO LATE NIGHT SNACKING - DEC., 2022 CHALLENGE
(borrowed from Nov., 2022 challenge board): If you haven't seen this challenge before, let me brief you about it: What you have to do to change the way you feel about your eating at night: - decide what late night snacking means to you (could be either bingeing, if you're inclined to it or simply eating anything at all…

I so wish I'd be able to keep some people out of sight, without necessarily unfriending them for ever. Thanks! 🌻

Proper Form
My sternum hurts when I'm doing chair deeps. Not right away, but after about 10, so just around the time I'm getting fatigued. Is it me not engaging my arms? My biceps getting fatigued and not doing the work anymore? Could it be that I'm missing something regarding the form? Anyone else experiencing similar things?

Protein Powders
I have thought until recently of protein powders as synthetics. A little hypochrite, since I do not eat that clean! However, getting to understand how much protein we actually need, I have tried to find evidence that they might not be healthy and in my brief search I couldn't find anything "convincing". Any opponents of…

Lockdown + Workout = Lockout
As many of us are facing a lockdown again and some are worried about gyms being closed, team sports being banned and the shorter days/lower temps being an impediment (at least mentally) to exercising, I suggest you to: - declare a personal goal, achievable, yet a bit challeging - report here each day on how it goes, for…

German Body Composition
I've started lifting at home with dumbells following GBC. After 8 weeks I switched to M&S, the 4 days/week split programme. I am happy to return to GBC and I read that you can either alternate Day 1 and Day 2, to train 3 times a week or (if I understand it correctly) lift a whole week according to Day 1 (3 x week) and…

Which lifting program is the best for me?
I was hesitant about asking for free advice here, but one of my friends (who btw gives often very pertinent advice on the forum) suggested I do it, after I posted on my wall and received little feedback. So here I go: Just before the lockdown I got myself adjustable dumbbells: the bars are about 3 lbs each and the disks…

Calling out to the former chubby kids
Hiya, if you were a little plump as a kid and are now at a healthy weight (or within a healthy range), I would like to read your transformation story. 😎 Were you plump because there were unhealthy habbits in your family? What were these? Food 🍔, snacks 🍫, baked goodies 🎂? Sedentary lief style 🎮? Do you think it is…

What does maintaining mean?
I have seen quite a few people saying that they have kept the weight they lost (20+ lbs) for years. What does maintaining mean? How much fluctuation is acceptable? What weight gain can you ignore and keep doing what you've learned to do in the process of losing the weight? Like others that I've seen here, I get way too…

NO MORE SLEEP DEPRIVATION in December 2019
Sleep is an important part of a healthy diet. Poor sleep triggers bad eating and we know how this reflects the next morning on the scale. Some may not know that bad sleep affects hormones, which triggers unwanted weight gain. Some of it just water gain, so a false alarm which, however, influences the way we believe in…

Been there, done that
I need to rant. Or secretly just looking for more friends, dunno. Maybe I just need a pat on the shoulder or a kick (you know where). I've been watching calories (with interruptions) for many years (yes, I am not in my early 20ies anymore). However, I find it hard to restrict my calories or to (intermittent) fast. I blame…

I hear a lot lately about the keto diet. Anyone vegetarian and on keto? Just curious.
