Insanity advice?
I started Insanity on Sunday, and I'm on Day 4 today. I've been having lower back spasms though, which might've been because my form was slipping a bit the past 2 days. I'm also getting over what I think was an SI joint injury though, because when I first hurt my back I was having muscle spasms too. It's Cardio Recovery…

Is hitting calories or macros more important?
I aim to eat around 1,800 net calories a day (although I don't count anymore...I try to estimate it) to lose body fat since I lift heavy 3x a week and do intense cardio 2x a week, and I want to make sure that I'm fueling my body enough to keep me going. Some days it's hard for me to eat that much though, especially living…

Anyone trying to lose the last 10 pounds?
I used MFP in the past but stopped counting calories for awhile, but now I'm back to tracking since I'm trying to lose these last 10 pounds. Anyone else in the same boat? :)

Pain in side and in shoulder while running?
Yesterday I set out for a 5 mile run (in intervals), and for the first 3 miles I was good, but around the 3rd mile I started getting pain in my left side/near my ribcage. I kept going, but then it felt like I had stabbing gas pains across my chest before it moved into my left shoulder and stayed there. I walked some more…

When to go back to working out after being sick?
2 days ago I woke up and felt sick, and I went to my school's clinic and was told that I had a virus. I'm feeling a lot better today though...I just have a dry cough and my lymph nodes are still swollen. Am I okay to go back to working out (lightly of course)?

Is calculating calorie burn by heart rate accurate?
I use this calculator to calculate how many calories I burned through exercise by taking my pulse every few minutes and averaging it out: http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx Is that an accurate way of calculating it, or no? My pulse was around 180 while I was…

Does anyone else get super hungry after running?
I haven't run in awhile, but I went for a 2ish mile run yesterday and now I've been starving all morning! I've been eating pretty much every hour since I've gotten up, but I'm still hungry. Does anyone else get this?

How to increase calories but not fat? (vegan)
After eating breakfast, lunch, and working out, my net calorie count's only at about 200 and it's 5 in the afternoon. I've already eaten 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, so I'm not trying to take in too much more fat. I'm vegan by the way. Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't have access too a lot of food since I'm at…

Does fat make you feel more full?
I haven't been really hungry today (except the 7 hour gap between breakfast and lunch...I didn't have much of a choice though)...like I had to force myself to eat after the gym, but I couldn't even finish what I made. I also noticed that my fat intake's a lot higher than normal though. So what's you all's take on it? I'm…

Not enough to eat/too much caffeine?
I haven't had coffee in a few weeks, but this morning I made myself a really strong pot of coffee (like 3 heaping tablespoons for 4 cups), and I drank about a third of it. I only drank it after eating a bowl of oatmeal though. A few hours later I felt a little funny, but I got up and was walking around and then my head…

Is jogging in place a good workout if intense?
Sometimes if it's too hot outside to run, I'll do HIIT with 1 minute of jogging/jumping in place and 30 seconds of intense jumping jacks or high knees, and repeat for 20 minutes total. Is this a good workout? My heart rate normally averages about 180 while doing this. I'm an 18 year old girl, 5'3, and 130 pounds if this…

should i be eating a net of my BMR, or more?
I feel like MFP sets my calorie goal too low. My BMR's about 1500, plus I exercise at high intensity for about 30 minutes 5-6 days a week and incorporate strength training. What do you guys think I should be eating as my net intake? I'm a girl, 18 years old, 5'3, and 130 pounds if that helps any haha.

Is working out near maximum heart rate safe?
A lot of the time while doing cardio, my heart rate is within the 80-90% of it's maximum. I always back off if I feel like I'm pushing too hard, but most of the time I feel fine and like I can keep going. Is this dangerous, or am I fine to keep going?
