trying to post a gif
This is the code I've copied from photobucket: "http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/grammysboy/clever gifs/castle.gif" with the img stuff at the start and end in brackets and small letters. Any thoughts on why it won't post and play properly?

Heart rate monitor
I finally broke down last weekend and bought a HRM. My wife had been telling me the calories counted on my treadmill were way off. This morning I wore the HRM as I walked. According to the treadmill, I burned 388 calories walking for 45 minutes with a 4% incline. The heart rate monitor said 502. Any idea which one is…

Need a link
Someone posted a link in this topic a few days ago that went to a lengthy article about calculating BMR, TEE and gave quite a bit of advice about nutrition. I didn't save the link and would like to go to the article again. I think it was something like "nutrition 101." If you have a link to the site I would greatly…

Fish oil
I have been taking fish oil capsules for several years. I take two in the am and two at night to get the recommended amounts of omega 3 oils. They are basically the cheapest I can find. I don't seem to have any problems with the taste or indigestion. I don't currently count them on my daily caloric intake. Should I? Is…

I see on here all the time the abbreviation, "NSV." I'm sorry for being so old and/or too dense to figure it out, but what does this mean? Please be kind to the elderly!

Does it work
I started MFP in September, around the 10th, which means I've been with the program for about 12 weeks. When I set it up, I said I wanted to lose 1.5 pounds a week. At my starting weight I was allowed 1780 calories a day. If I did everything right, I should be down around 18 pounds. As of this morning I was down 19. I…

funky heartbeat
I have an unusual heartbeat. It skips a beat every few seconds. I don't notice it until I try to monitor my heart rate. The docs don't know what it is (probably genetic). When I use a treadmill or elipical with the handles that measure heart rate, it won't work. I'm considering getting a HRM to better track my calories…

Low T
I hear a lot on the radio about problems associated with low testosterone. Has anyone been diagnosed with this and treated? Does it help? Comments.

A little help please
I have read several comments from successful losers here at MFP that indicated they ate all the calories they were allotted every day. Others indicate they eat only those that they earn through exercise. Because I am a male and started at a relatively heavy weight (255), I have been allotted 1780 calories a day. I have…
