Do you know when?
I am curious does anyone else know the exact moment you began gaining weight? I never had a weight issue growing up or an unhealthy relationship with food until one moment. So I am curious as to if others feel the same and if they were able to go back to where they were before. Or if it just permanently changed them. For…

February Check in.
Hi guys I am back from a long break due to just being lazy and not getting into it... But Im back and will be posting here on a regular basis also. I will be upping weights by 10 for a little while as I have done this before so if the numbers seem odd thats why. Hope you will all join me. Starting weights Squats - 45 Ohp -…

Yoga for men.
Is there even a difference? All the guys that I see doing yoga are tall bean poles that are actually able to get into these pretzel like poses. Being 6'0 220 and built more like a linebacker I feel like I could get some benefit from doing yoga but my body type is just going to prevent me from doing things properly. Or are…

March Check-in
Well it's about that time. Lets see how you guys did last month or if youre just starting out great too. Starting Weights I started from the bare minimum. I doubt I would have gotten the results I had if I went with my ego and started heavier. I implore anyone that doesnt have a weightlifting background to do the same. Or…

3 Months Stronglifts 5x5.
So I started at the end of november and quickly found out that cardio was really not for me. I however in that time did find MFP and saw that a number of people were suggesting stronglifts. So I did my research and decided to try it out even tho I had no experience with free weights. Being 6'0 and 230 pounds the thought of…

Deload weeks
Ok. so after 13 weeks of Stronglifts my body is telling me that it needs a break. While I can still lift the weights with pretty good form it is obvious that my body is not quite recovering as fast as it should be right now. So I'm thinking it may be time for a needed deload. But not having ever done one I'm a little lost…

Ok so form check
If I could get a form check there's really no mirrors on the side at my gym so it's hard to see what I'm doing. Want to make sure I get it right before it gets heavier and I hurt myself. I know the angle is pretty bad but hope you can tell http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3Vr19-ef4k Thanks! ETA: This was set 4/5

Foods you eat wrong.
I have this habit of not cooking some frozen foods. Namely peas, corn, waffles, and fish sticks. Yea I know it's weird and probably really gross to some but I do it lol. But I have friends that also do things like eat ramen without cooking it. So I guess my question is what foods do you eat that you're supposed to eat…

Foam rollers
Looking into gettting some foam rollers because my legs and back are always pretty tight after lifting. I have seen people swearing by them. I am wondering what kind, brand, and size I would need. I am 6'0 220 and have pretty big thighs. Cheers. :drinker:

High calorie goals
Does anyone have any examples of 2800 - 3000 calorie diets that don't include junk. Having a hard time eating as much as I should without resorting to pizza and other crap. Thanks. My TDEE is 3400.

Embarrassing gym moments
Went to a different gym today. The layout was all weird power rack next to the tread mill. The power rack looked like it was from medieval times. The safety bars were all weird on it. I ended up setting them up too high and hit one on my warmup squat which caused the bar to go all crooked and send the 45 lb plate flying…

Question for the ladies.
Yes, I know I'm a guy, but the regular forum is really inactive and only has a 130 members as opposed to 1300. I dont think my question is gender specific anyways. I feel like this is a better question for the women because you get closer to your body weight a lot sooner than the guys and a lot of the guys give up before…

Ladies would you be opposed to.
Just wondering if any of the ladies would have any problems with me starting to post in here regularly. I thought it would be more appropriate to ask your opinions than just start posting and force my way in. If you do have a problem with it please say so. I don't want to step on anyones toes and be as respectful as…

AHHHHHHHHH
Ahhhh can't take the suspense anymore. Next friday the school that we are trying to get my daughter into is having a lottery to see what new children are going to be accepted. They do this every year for the kids that havent attended yet to determine which ones they have room for to make it fair. It is a charter school and…

Lifting NSV
Set a PR this morning which mainly because I've never done deadlifts much before. But finally was able to deadlift my body weight at 225. Feels good to have two 45 pound weights on each side when just a couple months ago it was embarrassing to me to have a guy of my size with under 100 lbs on the bar. Strength is…

Over-head press
So I've been doing Stronglifts 5x5 for about 2 and a half months now. I am starting to get close to my failure rates on my over-head press. I am getting really nervous that I'm going to drop it on my head. I believe that my form is still good even though some sets are sow getting all the way up. Did anyone else have this…

Spin
Thinking of going to a spin class this morning for the first time. Im not really big on fitness classes as I tend to keep to myself. However, I feel like I need a fun way to get cardio in and this might be one of them. Gotta try something once or you dont know what you're missing out on right? Any thoughts? Tips?

After strong lifts.
Hey guys I have been doing strong lifts 5x5 for a few months now and am in the heavier weights now. I just don't feel like its enough. I think I should be doing more. I know this is just a beginner program so when did you move to a more advanced training session. Any help on where I should be going from here would be…

High calorie protein shake
Hi, I am looking for a higher calorie protein shake as my current one only has 105 calories. I am having trouble hitting the 2800 calories I need for the day and was figuring this would be a decent way to get some more in. Any help would be appreciated. :)

Compliments... Kinda
My friend just tried to give me a compliment about my weight and failed miserably he said "so now you look like a real person" I was like great so I looked like an Oompa Loompa before. What kind of intended compliments have you gotten that just kinda made it look like they just stuck their foot int their mouth?

Favorite weightloss show?
My favorite weightloss show is actually only on it the UK and its called supersize vs super skinny. In which they take an obese person and an anorexic person and make them switch eating habits for a week. I believe it focuses more on the education of how to eat properly than some of these shows. I just wish it was on in…

Bodybugg and TDEE
Ok so I have been using the bodybugg for about a month now and have been wearing it religiously for about the past two months. I have only lost 2 lbs since then. Although I do believe that I look better. My question is should I be calculating my TDEE from the fat 2 fit site or from the calories that I use off my bodybugg.…
