1st day...failed on some :(
I was so excited to get to the gym and do this today but once I started the routine I ran into some problems. I couldn't do the recommended weight on some things. For instance, my 10 rep max test results for squats :frown: had me at 105 but I had to lower it to 95 and even at that I could get quite as low as I wanted. On…

Weight light newbie...Do I count calories burned?
I just did my 10 rep max test Tuesday and am going to start the All Pro lifting program today. I wear a HRM when I do cardio to track how many calories I'm burning but I have read on here that's not accurate when lifting. Should I still wear it? If not, how do I figure out how many calories I should add to my diary or do I…

Did my 10 rep max test today and now I need help!
Yay! I completed the first step. lol I entered my reps and weight in the calculator but which weight do I use? And the calf raises weights came out way too high. I don't think I could hold that much weight. lol I guess it's so high because I did 28 reps.

Need help getting started.
I was told to come here for help in getting started... What's the best way for a woman to build muscle? I don't want to look like a body builder, just gain enough to replace what I've lost with age and to speed up my metabolism. The only strength training I'm doing currently is Power 90, using 8-12 lbs. I know it's not…

Is this hard to learn?
I have lost 50 lbs. and would like to lose at least another 20. I have been doing Power 90 Sculpt but my own cardio on alternating days. I have been reading a lot on this forum about women lifting heavy. Is this something that would be hard to learn on my own? Is it safe to do this without a spotter? (Is that even the…

Cruising one week from today!
Yay!! I'm so excited!!! I did not lose as much as I hoped to by now but I'm not going to let it get me down. Can't wait!

Do you do this at home or the gym?
I have a gym membership but just curious which you find easier to do? I may be a bit intimidated to do this in front of people before I know what I'm doing. Although my son says it's pretty dead there in the afternoons. I have a few weeks between the time we return from vacation and school starts back so maybe I could…

Why did you choose NRol4w?
Why did you choose this particular program over other out there, like StrongLifts? I would like to start one in a couple of weeks but can't decide which one to start with.

persoanl trainer?
Okay, I am pretty sure I'm going to hire a personal trainer from my gym to help me get started since I've never lifted like this. I just want to make sure my form is correct and it would be hard to tell without the videos in front of me. This gym charges per hour but this specific trainer likes to break them into 30 minute…

p90x, insanity or heavy lifting?
Which would be best? I am about 60 days into power 90 (with good results so far) and trying to decide what to do next. I have lost 50lbs. and have another 20 or so to go. Which would help me get there the fastest and look good once I get there? I'm not real sure I could do insanity. I had plantar fasciitis for 3 years,…

Can you lose weight and lift heavy at the same time?
I have been inspired by so many women on here that lift heavy and look great. It makes me want to do it too. I still have 20 lbs to lose though so should I wait until I lose it to begin?

Help with In Place of a Road Map
I have been eating around 1200 calories for about 4 months. I'm still losing but within 20 lbs of my goal weight. (Although I may want to lose a little more once I get there, unsure at this point) I did all the calculations he suggested but I don't want to change anything until I'm sure I'm doing this right. My BMR was…

Question about Max heart rate and my polar ft40
While doing Power 90 today, I glanced at my watch to check my heart rate and it was over my max. Not a lot, it was 176 and my max is 174. I stopped what I was doing until it came down a bit but is there a way for me to program this to beep or something when I go over? Also, is there a more accurate max heart rate predictor…

I've been doing Power 90 for about 2 weeks
My problem is it has really slowed down my weight loss. :grumble: I was losing at a pretty good pace when I was doing all cardio, mostly my elliptical. Now I'm alternating the Power 90 sculpt and sweat and not seeing the results I was previously. I know it's too soon for it to be muscle weight so what gives? Should I also…

Carnival cruise
Do they have light salad dressings on the buffet and are they an option at dinner? If so, do you recall which ones? I could take my own if I need to.

Going on a cruise-best way to count calories?
We are going on a cruise soon and I'm worried about gaining weight. I looked on here and did a google search but the only item I can find calories for on Carnival is their warm chocolate melting cake...my absolute favorite dessert which I ordered every night for dinner last time...this time I won't. How am I supposed to…

Why doesn't the search option work for phentermine?
The search shows results on phentermine but when I try to click on one it just takes me back to the message boards home page. What's up with that? I would love to read through them.

Heart rate question
I got my Polar FT40 today and used it tonight when I worked out on our elliptical. According to it, I have been getting my heart rate way too high. Tonight I kept slowing down more and more and still couldn't get it down to the fat burn zone. I have been exercising in the 160-180 range and tonight it I was in the 140-150…

MFP calories or TDEE?
My son went to the doctor yesterday and she told him he needs to lose weight before he gets some permanent health problems. I have read a lot on here about using TDEE instead of the calories recommended by MFP. However, I calculated both for him and I don't see how he could possibly lose weight eating that many calories! I…

Treadmill advice
We are in the market for a budget friendly treadmill... We are not runners and never will be, but when I get in shape again i will alternate walk/jog/incline. I have had a lot of problems with my feet so I've been told to walk on one of these instead of a hard surface. We have looked at the Proform 1450 (currently on sale…
