My problem is it has really slowed down my weight loss. :grumble: I was losing at a pretty good pace when I was doing all cardio, mostly my elliptical. Now I'm alternating the Power 90 sculpt and sweat and not seeing the results I was previously. I know it's too soon for it to be muscle weight so what gives? Should I also do a few minutes on my elliptical after I finish? We are going to join a gym tomorrow so I think I might alternate the Power 90 video and workouts at the gym and see if my weight loss picks up again.

Have some patience. It could be muscle gain or water retention. Did you revise your calorie intake when you started?0

As part of DOMS, whenever you change your workouts, your body retains water to aid in the repair process of your muscles, especially with weight training.
Also, weight training can initially give you unexpected scale weight results due to increased glycogen in the muscles.
The rate of fat loss did NOT slow down if you are still eating at a calorie deficit. You are not gaining muscle on a deficit (unless you are seeing "newbie" gains which will slow anyway).
Keep at it and trust the process. And don't step on that scale too much, either. Focus on your measurements, how your clothes fit, and how you feel. As long as you are eating at a moderate calorie deficit, you are going to be losing fat.
Losing fat >losing scale weight0
