Can I be successful again?
Back in 2011 I was very successful in my weigh loss goals with the help of MFP and Fitbit. Many things have changed since then but I'm hoping I can do it again. Looking for friends for accountability and motivation (30+ years old and needing to loose 60+ lbs a bonus).

Hi, I'm Amanda and I.....
...clearly didn't learn from the last time. {The room replies back "Hi, Amanda."} I've been on MFP since Jan. 2011. However, after I was successful at winning a weight loss competition at work, I thought I knew everything. I thought "surely after a rigorous six months of tracking EVERYTHING, I'm a pro. I don't have to log…

New (again)
I've been a member of MFP for a few years and had success when I really used it. I've since fallen off the wagon and it's seriously time to get back on!! :blushing: My best friend and I started a competition to push each other into shape in time for our trip to Vegas (May 2014). I would love your help! I MUST lose a…

The dreaded scale and how gravity effects us ;)
A friend forward this from another fitness site. I think it was a great read and thought I'd share: "Pretend for a minute that gravity doesn’t exist. Everything is weightless, including your aunt Sophie, yet it all manages to stay on the ground. You don’t know how much you weigh because scales have never been invented. How…

My mini reality check:
So, I thought I'd look over my dairy and review what I typically go over in. It's sugar! The biggest culprit? My Granny Smith apples I have as a snack. The smaller one (only 55 cals) is 11g of sugar!! Not fair! :noway: So, after eating the rest of what I have at home this week, I'm saying NO MORE! With that said, I'll take…

Looking for a mashed cauliflower recipe...
I just saw this potato substitue on another thread and was curious if anyone had a recipe for it. It sounds like a great low calorie swap for our beloved garlic mashed potates; of which we haven't had in a long time because it "costs" too much in calories... Thanks in advance! Manda

Time to cook!
I really want to start cooking dinner more offen. I'm handy in the kitchen, but clueless as to what to cook. I have a few cookbooks, but I'm more interested in what others prepare. I figure it's because they can give their feedback on the recipe they've personally tried and make any…

Thinking of trying 30 Day Shred... any advice?

Does everything count?
Do you count all the little exercises, like grocery shopping? I feel they fall more in the "average daily activity"... I have been tracking some of the out of the norm ones, like walking to the bank on lunch or walking to a local restaurant for dinner. I figured I can ount those because I've consciously made the choice to…

Survey

Newbie Quiestion #2
Can someone help me break down the "Your Daily Summary" on the home page? To clarify: I know I should not exceed my goal (1390) but maintain at least 1200. What role does the "net" and "calories remaining" play in obtaining between 1200 and 1390? I'm confused and might be over/under eating.... KTHX :D Manda PS - Please…

Hi there!! My name is Manda. I am 26 years old and was born in New Mexico. I got married a wonderful man in March 2007, then moved to Ohio. We have two pets (cat & iguana) but no kids. The nitty gritty fact: I weigh 234 pounds and I'm 6'1" ft tall (that means I have a BMI of 31!!). Talk about a good kick in the pants -…
