Is this too agressive?
I am currently 134 lb (5'6) and my ultimate goal is 125. BMI is currently 21. Is it too much for me to go for 1lb/week or will I just be burning too much muscle that way? I weight train and run with two rest days- I don't want to lose my hard earned muscle tone. I ask because I was trying to do 1/2lb/week and for some…

10 months- 35 pounds gone
While I'm not quite "done" yet, I hit my goal weight and I'm feeling good about myself, so I'm going to post my pics finally :) Starting weight = 166 Current Weight = 131 I started all this back on 4/30/13 after noticing a whole new set of stretch marks. I couldn't handle it any more. I have a 3 year old daughter and I…

I think I pulled something in my groin. Help?
(thought I was posting in fitness forum and don't know how to move it? Help?) I was in class this morning, doing V-ups with the medicine ball, and all the sudden I had a burning pain in my inner thigh/groin area and could not go on. My trainer was concerned and told me to REALLY take care of it or it could sideline me for…

So I'm losing way more than my plan...
I know I know, my diamond shoes are too tight, waaaaaa. But really. I'm only set for a pound per week and a lot of times I end up with less of a deficit than that and I'm not worried about it. But over the last 4 weeks I've lost 8.5lbs..... I use a Fitbit and a food scale so I know things are pretty accurate. The only real…

Is there a combined HRM/Pedometer?
My Fitbit zip broke and I'm looking to upgrade. What I really want though is a combined HRM with pedometer functionality like the fitbit. Does this exist? I walk a lot during the day AND do workout classes as well. Thanks!

Anyone else already excited for Halloween?
Halloween is my very favorite day of the year and I am REALLY FREAKING SERIOUS about costumes, lol. I've already decided that I'm going as Artemis (Diana, Goddess of the Hunt) Please tell me that I'm not the only one planning this already-- tell me your costume ideas!

Low weight high reps
I know from this forum that it's better to do high weights for low reps, but the class that I attend uses light weights and we basically work the muscles to exhaustion (followed by push ups, planks, tricep dips- NOT an easy peasy class by any means). Now, I know it's doing SOMETHING because I can feel my increased strength…

Settle a debate RE: muscles
My husband is convinced that we cannot grow new muscle- that we only build and strengthen the ones we have. I think that he's wrong and you can absolutely build new muscle. Settle this for us please?

Lunchbreak Workout- I think boss is getting annoyed
I never used to take lunch breaks and I think this created unreasonable expectations in my boss. I'm not hourly or scheduled for lunch breaks so it especially should not matter that I'm gone for 60-65 mins at lunch. I'm a manager- he's a higher manager. Lately I notice him clearly watching for me when I come back and then…

Retraining my brain- meat/starch/veggie
I grew up eating a very typical midwestern diet- every meal needing a meat/starch/veggie. I'm working on my macros and this model is really hurting me with regards to carbs. I'm realizing that I really CAN'T eat a starch with EVERY meal and be within my ideal macros. Has anyone dealt with this? Does anyone have any good…

Lower ab tenderness (for weeks now)
OK this is a recurring problem that I seem to have every time I start a diet/exercise plan. This happened to me about 2 years ago when I was going to a personal trainer. my doc can't find anything physically wrong with me but it's really bothersome and causes anxiety for me so I wanted to see if anyone else has ever…

Not eating enough- this is what happens.
I've had a crazy week and every single day I've been significantly below my calorie goal. I do Bar Method every day and up until about Tuesday I had been getting stronger every class. Today I could not finish the regular 20 push ups like I usually do every day- I had to drop to my knees and barely finished. The rest of…

Nausea during workout?
Occasionally (like today) I get nauseous during my workout class. I eat greek yogurt with chia seeds in the early mornings and then half of an english muffin with PB half an hour before workout pretty much every day as well as plenty of water, so I don't think it's diet related. It really hinders performance in my class…

What did you do this week to get closer to goal?
What did YOU do ladies/gents? I went to Bar Method class tues-friday and was slightly under calorie goal each day. I ALMOST skipped today because my schedule changed at the last minute, but took a morning class instead! Today makes 21 classes in the month of May :D

Fitbit (& other device) users- what's your record?
If you use Fitbit/Jawbone/Fuelband etc, what's been your highest TDEE reading in a single day? Today is going to be a new record for me I think. If I just stopped now and laid in bed the rest of the day, I'd wind up at 2700 cals burned! And I still have about a mile and a half to walk home tonight!

Being the new kid sucks.
I've been going to the Bar Method classes every workday for all of May, so I'm not EVEN THAT NEW! But yet somehow every other girl is all muscle and can make it through all the reps and sets with perfect form while I'm having my name called out with every new exercise. IT SUCKS. I just got out of class and I swear to god I…

First day back to class was BRUTAL.
Gah I hate the first day of the week. Class always seems 10x harder. Especially after a LONG weekend! I can't feel my thighs!!

Anyone do this? I'm not ready for this year since it's in two weeks, but next year I really want to do it! Any advice for training?

Can I add lifting to my routine?
Hello All, first post here. I do 60 min Bar Method classes 5 times per week which is high intensity isometric/calisthenics. I am interested in lifting and bought the NRWLFW book but after reading it, I'm concerned that trying to do these both at the same time would be harmful for my body. I've been doing the BM classes for…
