Maintaining with mfp and fitbit vs applewatch
Hi all. I’m in maintenance and I count my steps. I lost weight using mfp set to zero activity, and then let my fitbit ad on extra calories. It seemed to work very well and was pretty accurate to my body for how many calories I expended vs took in. For xmas i got an apple watch se. I really like the features. EXCEPT the…

Nutribullet or blender?
I want to start making more smoothies. Is it worth it to buy a nutribullet? I already have a basic blender. Any thoughts, tips, help? Thanks.

Does wine have any nutritional calories? 😁

Weighing food - not sure if this is a vent or question
So while I’m not new here, I’m trying to be better about weighing my food accurately this go around, and am trying to stick to grams for most precise weighing. But, I’ve noticed people will input items in all kinds of odd ways. Either incorrectly all together. Or in ounces only (better than nothing). But sometimes just as…

Scale
What scale do you have and do you love it. Mine is on it's last leg and I'm wondering if the ones with the fancy bells are worth the price when I replace my old one.

New friends please.
Looking for a few new friends. I’m petite, 5’2”, and started letting the weight creep back on carelessly. Same old story. Up to 127, which is still technically normal bmi, but at least 20-25 pounds over where I’m most comfortable. Most of my bad habits come from eating out mexican and margaritas and sipping wine. Too much…

Benefit to taking a break?
Wondering if there is any benefit to taking a break from eating at a deficit for a few weeks. I have lost most of my weight (18 lbs) starting from November 1st. Eating at a deficit of .5 lb a week, although I lost a little more. I have about 5 more I want to lose. I haven't really stalled, but notice I am gravitating…

C section help
Three and a half years ago I had a csection. My waistline, whether from the pregnancy or csection, has never been the same. I used to have a very hour glass figure, but now I look more straight up and down from waist to hip. Is there anything I can do via exercise to target my waist line, or is this just the price of…

Favorite ‘non exercise’ exercise
I like to move and do stuff, but hate thinking of it as exercise. I’m looking for fun things that you do that burn calories, but you don’t necessarily think of as exercise. I’ll start: I like to hike, especially where there are nice views. And I enjoy skating. Both roller and ice.

Anyone else’s mfp and fitbit not syncing today?
Just wondering if I’m alone. :(

Mfp calories vs Fitbit calories
I'm just curious. Both mfp and Fitbit are set to lose a pound a week. And they sync so they both have my food data and fitness data. But mfp almost always tells me I'm under my goal by a little and Fitbit almost always tells me I went over my calorie goal. I don't care that much cause I'm losing weight. So I trust mfp and…

How accurate is the Fitbit?
I just got my Fitbit flex 2. I used to have a very high end and accurate pedometer. I feel like it did a really good job of measuring my steps. I'm wondering how accurate the Fitbit is. I feel like it's counting steps sometimes when I don't take them. Like when I'm driving. Has anyone measured against a high end pedometer?…

Question regarding fitbit and activity level
I synced my fitbit with mfp, which is nice. But I had my activity level set at lightly active. I noticed it started giving me extra calories though as I hit over 7,500? steps, or somewhere around there. Should I just set up activity level to sedentary and then allow the apps to add on accordingly?

Breastfeeding calorie needs
I'm 4 weeks post partum and need to lose 20 lbs, but I'm breast pumping to feed little one. Does any one know the extra calorie needs I should tack on to maintain milk supply, but still slowly lose weight. Thanks in advance!

Anyone put weight on from wine?
I'm wondering if anyone else put weight on from drinking wine, or other alcohol. I've been thin most of my life, but the weight slowly creeped on (about 15 lbs) when I got into the very bad habit of sipping about 2-3 glasses of wine every night. One day I couldn't zip up my bigger clothes in my closet and that is when I…

How much weight gain did your doctor suggest?
My doc said I'll need to gain about 20-25 lbs during the pregnancy. While a 20 lb weight gain would make me happy, everything else I've read suggests 25-35 lbs, with 25 lbs more ideal for shorter woman. So, I was kind of surprised, but didn't say anything. Note, I'm short, a tad over 5'1", and weigh right around 100lbs…

Not into weight lifting. Is it really necessary at all?
I used to lift (lightly) in my 20's. I went around with a man who was really into it, and he taught me how. But I don't think I ever really liked it that much. As I get older, I've heard it's very important for a woman to do it to maintain muscle. But frankly, I like it even less now. I prefer pilates, yoga, or whatever.…

Question for those that do pilates/yoga and weight train
How do you break up your routine? Back when I used to only weight train, I used to do a split routine 4 days a week. And I know rest imbetween days is important. But now I regularly do about 2 days of pilates or yoga. That is of the whole body, and not a split. And I would like to begin weight training 2 days a week with a…

Anyone here with no sweet tooth
There are a lot of people here, and everywhere, with sweet tooths and sweet cravings. Just curious about those without sweet cravings, or that don't get them often. If that is you, what do you crave? Or what is your 'downfall'? Mine is salt, including but not limited to french fries, potato chips, tortilla chips,…

Taking a short walk after dinner aids digestion
For many people, the food-induced stupor that often follows a big meal is a good excuse for a nap. But for some, a brief walk shortly after eating is a quick way to burn some calories and aid digestion. Over the years, researchers have found that a post-meal walk, as short as 15 minutes, can in fact help with digestion and…

Soda Cleanse
So today at lunch I went to my favorite health food store where I pick up some of my organic food items, and I noticed two things. One, unfortunately they were out of my favorite (organic) juice drink, and two, that it is actually a cleanse. I had absolutely no idea cause I'd never looked at the bottle before that closely.…

What was the impetus for your change of lifestyle
I'm curious as to what caused you all to change your lifestyles. For me, I saw Food Inc. about 3 and a half years ago and it completely changed the way I viewed food. After that I read a bunch of books like Michael Pollan. I haven't eaten any fast food since then at all and have made numerous other changes. What about you…

Go, go, goji berries
Had to laugh when reading the healthy*****daily blog and her 'Dear Diary' post. But, why not spotlight Goji Berry's? So I thought I'd repost here. And by the way, I get mine in my two mom's in a raw granola bars which are great. Dear Diary, I’m still having a hard time fitting in. The blueberries are intimidated by my…
