Question regarding fitbit and activity level

I synced my fitbit with mfp, which is nice. But I had my activity level set at lightly active. I noticed it started giving me extra calories though as I hit over 7,500? steps, or somewhere around there. Should I just set up activity level to sedentary and then allow the apps to add on accordingly?

You can choose any MFP Activity Level, the adjustment will attempt to correct for the difference. However, if you choose above Sedentary, make sure you enable negative adjustments, so when you have a day (such as a sick day) that is less activity than a higher activity level setting, there can be Calories subtracted from your MFP daily goal to adjust properly.
I would recommend reading through the first three posts in this thread on the MFP Fitbit Users group...

If you set it to sedentary you will get a larger adjustment than if you set it at lightly active. But at the end of the day the calories will be about the same because you will start with a lower calorie goal if you are set at sedentary.3

When I had mine connected I set my activity level higher to get less of a calorie adjustment but if you want a bigger adjustment set it to sedentary.1
