6 Degrees of (movie game)
usually called 6 depgrees of Kevin Bacon... but for a forum like this we can just add on to each others one at a time (example: I say "Kate Beckinsale" and someone says "was in Brokedown Palace with Claire Danes"-- next person might say "who was in Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo Dicaprio...." Robert Redford.... GO!

My favorite protein recipes :)
As requested from my friends list a few weeks back, here are my favorite easy protein recipes. I've tried several variations and several other recipes- but these so far are the best, in my opinion. i tweaked recipes i have found on instagram and rippedrecipes.com, and some these are my favs so far (note- Trutein protein…

Quest vs pure protein?
Never tried quest bars but I heard they are good and good for you. I typically have chocolate peanut butter pure protein bars- I like them, and they are lower in carbs (same protein as quest) Thoughts??
-
Oh Yeah! Victory protein bars
i hear these are as good as quest bars, with almost identical stats. any reviews? right now, nothing can beat a Cookie Dough Quest bar (also love Cinnamon Roll, Banana Nut and Apple Pie- but Cookie Dough is by far my fav)

Walden farms- wtf
I see so many fitness junkies on Instagram using walden farms products (esp the syrup for protein pancakes) and claiming that it's great. I assume it's nowhere near the same as regular syrup, obviously, but it can't taste horrible if so many people swear by it. I have refused to try any WF products- because it doesn't…

Protein Banana Bread (so good!)
Protein Banana Bread (i made a loaf instead of muffins- it was easier and u dont have to worry about the cupcake liners sticking) http://dashingdish.com/recipe/banana-bread-protein-muffins/ --> i followed this to a T, except i used a 5.3oz container of Danon Light and Fit Vanilla Greek yogurt instead of .5c plain greek…

would love some feedback
So over the past few months, ive tried a few different calorie intakes, and found that i seem to lose weight when i stick to the 1600-1800 range (try for the higher end of the scale on lifting days)- this range, when im being diligent, is enough to keep me from being hungry, enjoy my food, and fuel my workouts (my cheating…

a revelation
so ive been 15-35 lbs from my weight goal for years (usually around 25). i have always worked out hard (especially since i started my lifting program in April), but my eating habits have been up and down throughout the years (mostly good, but struggled with some binge habits on and off). i know im not fat, but im…

too much?
so i am mid stage 4 and lift 3x a week. 2 of the other days i typically run, and i take 1-2 rest days a week. i get Nia Shanks emails now with tips and workouts, and got this challenge email today. rather than running, shoulod i do this on one of my off days? looks like a great workout, and its only using body weight- but…

biggest pet peeves
AT THE GYM? people that hog weights and/or machines but then spend more time talking than working out ON THE FORUMS? people only acknowledging answers that they hoped to hear (i.e. thanking someone agreeing that 1000 cals a day is good, and ignoring the 20 people explaining the science of TDEE or BMR + exercise) OF…

Too much?
I have 3 more workouts left to stage 3. Loving the program so far :-) Next week I start a stretch of night shifts (3-4 shifts a week), which are typically slow (at least much slower than day shift!) While I know I shouldn't do lifting other than the program (I do cardio on 2 of the 4 off days) would it be too much to do…

whats your "derby name"?
always wanted to do roller derby- im a good roller skater and i love that kind of stuff- but my schedule and current social life/obligations have me stretched too thin already. :( After seeing "Whip It" my sister gave me a derby name, in case i ever decide to go for it.... "Lucy Fur" :-)

Stage 3- ?s, thoughts, feedback?
The other day i did Stage 3 workout A- left me crazy sore for 2 days in my back and hamstrings!! (But loved it). so many exercises i never did before- but liked them all. the 90 second planks were killer (those i hated)- only made it the full 90s 1x, and the other 2 times i did around 60, stopped my timer for 10 seconds to…

Acupuncture- real or hooey?
no im not asking iff acupuncture will help me lose weight. but has anyone truly received good benefits from it? (i.e. not a placebo effect) mainly asking because (TMI, sorry) i have been having major cycle issues (lack there of, actually. possibly due to my crazy shift work schedule, which luckily just changed to a month…

thoughts on the BodPod?
had it done 2x in the past to measure Body Fat and thought it was interesting. ive gotten BF measured in the past by the hand held device at the gym and calipers (hated those. the pinching was annoying, and i always managed to have a hot male trainer be assigned to pinch my extra fat. lovely). before i spend $40 on another…

Stage 1- completed
I finished the stage in 5 1/2 weeks- lifting 3x a week, and combining the A&B AMRAP into one final (*kitten* kicking) workout. i only lost 3ish lbs, and the after pics i took didnt show much of a difference- i only saw a slight change in my back. however, i know 5.5 weeks isnt long enough to see a lot fo physical changes,…

AMRAP question
Sunday will be the last workout of workout B in phase 1 (yay!). for the AMRAP- do i do AMRAP A and B in the same session (which would be tuesday)- or do i split them up. splitting them up would seem like a crazy short workout if thats all im doing (aside from the warmup). and i do all of the exercises in each workout as…

some thoughts as i near the end of NROL4W stage 1
1- its a good program. i like the structure 2- i wish the beginning didnt start with only 2 sets of each. i understand why they built it that way, but for someone who was already lifting, it seemed too short. however, i was drenched in sweat after every workout- so i know each one was damn good 3- for those of you just…

amazing protein pudding!
Trutein Chocolate Peanut Butter protein powder seriously is the greatest protein powder ive ever tasted! i keep trying random protein recipes and i love them all! mix 1 scoop Trutein Chocolate Peanut Butter protein powder, 1/3c milk (I used light vanilla soy milk), 1 tbsp peanut butter (I used Better N' Peanut Butter to…

BLUF, please!
hey all! i just ordered the book, and plan to read it cover to cover when i get it. in short, i have been working out for years, and im no stranger to lifting or cardio- just looking for some structure and a change that has proved effective. im in shape, workout wise- i lift (heavy, as of recently), run, swim, play sports,…

do i need to treat this like an addiction?
i cant be trusted to just have a little, apparently. granted, ive made a lot of improvements over the past few months (since the fall was contant stress eating/binging due to moving and insane work hours), and now im back to only going way over maybe 3x a month at social functions. but its still going so over (2-3x a…

1 week in- thoughts
Im only on day 4 (did the first workout of both A and B) . The workouts are definitely hard if I push myself (which I did). I have been lifting heavier for the past few months prior to NROL4W- so I'm used to heavier weights, but 15 reps is a lot more than the 8-10 i was getting used to, so I had to lower the weight…
