Bed in a Box?
Who here has purchased a mattress online? What brand (Purple, Casper, BedInABox, ...)? Do you like it? Do you think it was worth the price? I need a new mattress. Thanks for your input.

How much do you pay for a yoga class?
There's a yoga studio that I used to visit; when I checked its price schedule recently, I discovered that a single class is $22. This seems expensive. If you buy a series, the per class price gradually drops; if you buy a series of 20 classes the price drops down to $16 per class, which is about what I was expecting to…

New study shows that most protein supplements contain "concerning" levels of heavy metals/toxins
If you use protein powders or ready-to-drink meal replacements, this article might be of interest to you: https://www.consumerreports.org/dietary-supplements/heavy-metals-in-protein-supplements "Whether for weight loss, muscle building, or simply as a convenient quick meal on the go, many Americans turn to protein powders…

Sardine Sustainability - article by Loren Cordain
Turned up this article when surfing the web a few days ago. I have a few cans left in the pantry, but other than that, it looks like there will be no more sardines for me until these little fish return to "normal" supplies in the Pacific... I love fish, but it's always decision where I consider not only price, but…

NSAIDS - pros and cons
So, I have pain in my left arm and shoulder. Doctor says it's tendonitis in rotator cuff. She recommends a week-long course of NSAIDS to reduce the inflammation. Atkins site (and Dr. Atkins before he died) stated that NSAIDS could interfere with weight loss. Weight Watchers website says that NSAIDS do NOT interfere with…

Favorite recipes using psyllium powder?
I've seen recipes that call for powdered psyllium husks - usually bready things. Do you have a favorite recipe that uses this ingredient? I just bought some. Thanks.

Reduced Inflammation due to diet?
Hello all, I was experiencing pain in my shoulder awhile back, and went to the doctor. She diagnosed the condition as tendonitis (inflammation) in my rotator cuff, and recommended Aleve and physical therapy exercises. My condition has improved with stretching and time. I took some Aleve, and I took some tumeric, but…

Boneless Pork Loin Chop recipes?
I fried up some boneless pork loin chops for breakfast today. No breading. While they were quick to prepare, they didn't get brown by the time they were fully cooked, and they were less than tender. (I did overcook them by a minute - damn they cook fast!) Do you have any suggestions for a better method of preparation?

Very Low Carb (not sweet) Pumpkin Muffins
Just posted a new recipe on my blog here, Low Carb Pumpkin Muffins. I accidentally left out half the sweetener, so they are not sweet, but they are a very nice adjunct to a soup, salad or chili. If you want them sweet, you can always add a bit more Truvia or Splenda. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/MistressPi

Most recent topics here as vs. Low Carber Forum
Hi, When looking at the Keto group's topics, most recent activity shows up right at the top of the list. Contrast this to the Low Carber forum, which does NOT display the most recent activity at the top. Recent activity seems to be interspersed amongst topics that are months old. Is this a setting that I can affect? What's…
