Fitness Goal: Learn to Windsurf

Hello!

I am moving from Sedentary to Fit. My dream is to learn how to windsurf.

Right now, I have quite a lot of body fat. (it is decreasing: I am down 9 pounds from my all time highest weight). I have moved from no exercise to walking. Mini goal is 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.

Windsurfing requires good endurance, core conditioning, and good upper body strength. I'm just wondering what is the best way for me to achieve these parameters. I know I'm going to have to ramp it up, but I don't want to overdo it. Last time I tried an aerobics class (Zumba) I had to quit about 15 minutes into it. I thought I was going to stroke out, my BP was so high.

My thoughts are: graduately improve aerobic conditioning, add in resistance training 3X week. Choose exercises like rowing, yoga, eliptical, cycling, Gravitron; weight machines for lower body.

Your thoughts?

Do you think it's a realistic goal to learn to windsurf in August?

Thanks.
