Celiac vs Gluten Free
Just a conversation option here - no panties in knots please... If you're not DIAGNOSED celiac but practice gluten free for whatever reason, what do you say when people ask? I'm 'lucky' enough to have had an official diagnosis but when I talk to non GFers, they are so quick to be okay with me being GF but not the 'Fad'…

Once condiment or spice you could not live without

Healthy Eating on a Budget
So, people say that fast food is cheaper than eating healthy. I disagree (in the big picture) but also find that a lot of the meals call for food that can quickly add up at the grocery store. Beef and veggies/fruit skyrocketing right now. What sort of things do you do to keep your budget in check when you grocery shop?…

Helping the DH Gain, while I want to lose?
I feel like the title explains the TLDR version. I'm 5'4, he's 6'2. I want to lose weight (have that plan all in order) and he's about 180-185 lbs and pretty skinny. What I have learned for him is that he should be targeting about 3,000 calories a day and lifting heavy. ie) Stronglifts. His concerns are that strong lifts…

Dehydration affecting weight?
Does dehydration affect your weight? I know that one of the first rules of healthy is "water, water, water" and on a day to day basis, I am a very hydrated gal. However, the last couple days I've indulged (perhaps a little too much) on wine, resulting in being dehydrated the next morning. However, when I weigh myself in…

Psoriasis and Diet
Hey team, So lucky me got 'diagnosed' with guttate psoriasis yesterday - typically triggered by a virus despite being sick. Doc says use a cream and watch it for up to 6 weeks. I am celiac and practice Gluten Free eating and also eat lactose free. Has anyone had any luck with psoriasis healing/relief using diet…

DietBet
Has anyone used this site before? I just signed up for a kickstarter to - well - kickstart some additional motivation. It seems like a neat idea.

What was easy for you?
I know people like to talk about what is really difficult to do but I'm curious how your existing habits may have contributed to your overall health? ie) You already walked most places, drank a lot of water, etc For me, water consumption is super easy. My water bottle is always by my side and I get teased for how often I…

Working out while sick
I've been doing SL 5x5 the last few weeks however, I've come down with a bad cold. Weak, exhausted, coughing up terrible things, triggering my asthma, etc. I opted out of going to the gym last night, because of fatigue and not wanting to get other people sick. a) I'm wondering if I should have tried to go since I'm still…

NROLFW vs 5x5
Hey all, I have the book of new rules and in the past I've seen pretty good results from this routine. Any thoughts as to which program would be 'better' or does it really matter? I've lifted for a little while but have been off for about 6 months. How do you recommend finding a good starting weight? Thanks!

Creating the habit of food weighing
Okay. I now feel comfortable enough to say that I've created the habit of logging most meals and even just checking in to MFP for about a month consecutive now. Next step is to have more accurate measurements of my food. I have a food scale at my disposal, so that's a plus. However, I find it challenging to create this…

Keto with lactose intolerance?
So many of the delicious fatty good y'all talk about are heavy in lactose. Aside from a lactose free/taking my lactose pills, any suggestions?

Avocados
What sort of things do y'all do with your avocados? I often mix it with tuna/chicken to make a chicken salad kind of thing. I've also done that cook an egg in it and on my sammiches. Of course, the quac is a staple too. What other ways do you use an avocado and do yours stay fresh for at least a day once cut?

NROLFW vs 5x5
I am hoping to get back into lifting. I have both of these programs. I've used both and seen better results from NR but I am sure it is because I did it first, for longer, and with more dedication so I don't think I can compare them myself just yet. Any pros or cons? Suggestions? TIA.

1/14 - Check In
HEY ALL! Day one. I was a bad girl. Sort of. I had a late night and didn't prep breaky so I grabbed an egg mc muffin - no bun and put it on one slice of dry whole wheat toast. And a coffee one&one with an extra espresso shot. My love myself moment: I am grateful for the mild winter we are having. It's so refreshing to…

Boys vs Girls in co ed sports
Sooo... I play soccer at a reasonably competitive level. I also play on rec teams for fun and practice and social aspects. I have noticed a lot of guys (well, like 95% of the time men, occasionally the dense woman) are total dbags. Say, for example, I'm defending someone, the guys in discussion here will double man mark…

FRICK - Injury Prone Phase?
So I was doing so so well. Was working out everyday for a couple weeks, feeling swell. Then I got hit at soccer and tweaked my knee. That sucks - took a couple days off from most exercise. Then, first day back yesterday at a game and I got kicked in the thigh really frigging hard. So I have a charlie horse to the nth…

"Your own pace"
How do you interpret that? Reason I ask is the other day at soccer, I tweaked my knee. Could not straighten it or extend with weight bearing. Due to the nature of Insanity, I opted to miss 2 days of workouts while i rest my knee and it's starting to feel better. Can I get right back into it assuming I'm not feeling any…

Weekends
Man alive. Monday through Friday is so easy. The routine, the prepped meals, etc. Then I sleep in on Saturday and it's all out the window it feels. How do you handle the weekends? (Don't go out with friends to restaurants? Meal prep? Exercise?)

How did you start?
As suggested, how did you start your LC diet? What IS your LC diet? Did you jump in with two feet for a keto plan? Did you gradually cut down? Any Pro tips or warnings? I am celiac so a lot of the 'bread' cravings are non existent but there's the fruit I'm going to miss and the odd potato based thing (hashbrowns, potatoes,…

Your jams
I'm sure this has been done a hundred and four times but - I beg of you, please tell me your pump up music for gym-ing.

Maybe a silly question...
Actually, it totally is.. Since I've started this program, (I'm 3 weeks in now and loving it) I have started to develop calluses on my palms. Would you recommend gloves or something else to minimize this? I know it's a silly question but is bugs me...

hurt & worried?
Hello gang! 27/f 5'4, 160 lbs - ish. Maybe less, I tend to obsess on the numbers... Thats a HUGE fault and hindrance for my weight loss journey. Husband finally chucked the scale - thank goodness. I play lots of soccer (4 games a week +/-) hot yoga 2-3 times a week and personal trainer once a week. Until last week. I…

Alcohol
I know that alcohol essentially counters the workout I've just done lol. But it's summer and most of my fitness is sports. Are there "healthier" drinks and the like that I could have or you've tried??
