How much do you think my half leg plaster cast weighs. Old fashioned plaster of paris style (waiting for a lighter one) It feels as if it weighs a ton but realsitically ...what do you think. I'm just trying hard not to put on weight with my very limited mobility

Quality of Sleep - do you have a tracker?
I have a Fitbit charge2 with sleep tracker and I was wondering what 'normal' sleep patterns were and what others recorded for sleep. I've always felt I wasn't a deep sleeper but I consistently record only about 4hrs 15-28mins (it varies slightly) of 'sleep' the rest of the night - (total 7 to 7 1/2 hrs in bed) is…

Anyone else happy being quite boring with diet
I guess I'm just not a 'foodie' (for example if we are going out my husband will say "oh I wonder what there will be to eat" and I'll say " I wonder who will be there"! ) I just wondered if anyone else was a repetitive quite boring eater ..I have the same breakfast, lunch and snacks each day and just vary the dinner. Lunch…

Replaced scale battery - gained weight!
I have an electronic scale which seemed to be accurate (at least consistent) This morning no visual display so I replaced the battery as the scale is about 2 years old. Now I have a nice bold display but it's weighing me as over 2 kilos (5lbs) MORE than yesterday :-( I was in maintenance so I'm 100% sure I haven't suddenly…

Cluck cluck .. chicken wings!
Hi I'm pleased with my weight loss, most of me has toned up well but I would like some ideas to shape my upper arms which wobble wobbly like a jelly and now the warmer weather is coming here in the Southern hemisphere, are exposed. I have dumbells at home, chest expanders and a funny V shaped spring thing that you can…

Either do it and lose or don't and stop whinging
Committing to a change of lifestyle to lose weight and improve health and fitness isn't easy. I'm amazed at how many on these boards imply that those who are doing this have some special metabolism that they don't. The only thing they have in my opinion is the 'Nike tick' - Just Do It . They knuckle down, cut the c**p…

But don't lose anymore weight - reply
Hi I have now reached my goal weight and have been maintaining there for about six weeks. I'm very happy with how I look, my weight and how everything has gone and is continuing to go. But I would love some advice on how to answer a statement I seem to now be getting. People saying "but don't lose any more weight will…

Stop, Stop! You are doing this ALL wrong
Goodness – this weight loss thing is soooo easy. The extraordinary transformation of the Duchess of York from frump to magazine cover girl has made her the envy of millions of would-be dieters. Sustainable, easy, cheap – I’m now going to swap from MFP to this …. Josh Salzmann weight loss program. 7.30am Rise. 8am…

Seriously what's with all this Indian spam ..
Every thread, every day gets bombarded with all this Indian spam - on the general weight loss thread there are 2 pages. What's it all about, why and how. I belong to other forums on big sites and have never seen anything like the problems MFP has. Why is it targeted. I just don't see the purpose - it doesn't seem to be…

So what are you doing with those clothes 1 size too large?
Hi 17 very proud kg down and I've gone from a size 16NZ (US 12) to an NZ 10 (US 6) and I wondering what all you maintainers out there have decided to do with the clothes that are just a size, or wee bit more too large? I've given the much bigger stuff away to friends and charity shops but I'm hesitating over the one size…

TRAM flap after breast cancer and weight loss
Hi I realise this is a rather specialised question but I'm thinking that in all the people in this forum there maybe someone else who has had a tram flap reconstruction of the breast after breast cancer. Although I knew that the breast reconstruction was done with abdominal fat I suppose it has come as a big surprise to me…

New goal has changed all data
Kia ora in preparation for maintenance today I changed my weight loss a week goal to .2kg. As I expected that has now given me an additional number of calories a day but what I did not expect is for that number of calories to be applied retrospectively throughout the last six months of my diary. For the past six months I…

Changing shape, changing style
I've gone down 14kg and am now an NZ 10 (which is US size 6 I believe) Very happy! However I'm having trouble reinventing my style from the more concealing tops and tunics, loose trousers of the past. I go shopping and seem to gravitate towards the 'old' look - almost to the extent of covering up all the hard work. I don't…

Older lady wondering about strength training
Kia ora, I have just reached my goal weight using a fairly straightforward approach of less in, more out via MFP and exercise. I've only been doing cardiovascular though - 3 forms, walking briskly, swimming and static bike. I love my walking and swimming and use the bike when wet or for a change. 57 yrs old. So I'm about…
