Is there any benefit to these?
I have stomach problems, and have for a long time. Sometimes I have to go on a doctor prescribed "bland diet" for extended periods. I see that others with my tummy problems use boost or similar nutritional shakes, as part of the "bland diet" regimen. Is there a specific benefit to these shakes?

high triglycerides?
My hubby had his bloodwork done, and it turned out ok, he's a slim 30yr old dude. But his triglycerides were in the mid 400's. What does that mean? The paperwork said to follow a low fat diet, and to excersize. It also said he requires no medication at this time. I dont really understand what triglycerides are, or how to…

Maintainer question... probably dumb.
Ive been maintaining a 60lb loss since July (woot). Because of some crazy life drama I have had a few episodes of binge eating, and I typically restrict my calories to even out the week after a binge. ( I shoot for a weekly average of 12,000 calories) Last night I overate my day's allotment by about 1,000 calories. The…

Protien powder for sensitive stomachs?
I have been looking at protien supplements as a cost effective protien source, to add to oatmeal or drunk as a shake. I hear that many can be a little hard to digest. Any recommendations? Walmart recommendations especially? ;) FWIW i tolerate soy products and cottage cheese/greek yogurt very well. I tend to have a harder…

before and during
I went from a BMI of 30 to a BMI of 20 over the course of a year. This is me 5 months into maintenance, taken this morning. I was 175lbs, and I am now 119. I was a size 16 in Walmart's Jordache jeans, now a 0 in Old Navy. Seeing my friends success stories inspired me to post my own. My diary is open if anyone cares to see…

Classic GORP?
Peanuts, raisins, m&ms.... I buy it pre made, but I'd love to make my own. How much of each ingredient to make up a batch? How long does it keep?

Should we teach kids about calories?
I am an adult, and I just learned how to count calories this past year. I knew foods had calories, but I didnt know how many a person should eat, how much we burn, or whatever. As a parent, would it be helpful to teach our kids about calories? I encourage my kids to be active, eat healthfully, avoid soda/juice, about how…

Anyone ever ordered/seen a "diet plate"?
I live in the rural Midwest, and I have seen something called a "diet plate" or "dieters delight" on some of the menus here. (I had one tonight!) It's basically a grilled chicken breast, a cup of cottage cheese, one or more hard boiled eggs, some sliced cucumbers or tomatoes, and canned peaches or jello as dessert. I read…

Maintaining, and pie.
So, I just ate two INCREDIBLE slices of triple berry pie in a double crust. I dont think I could eat another piece. I started to feel guilty for this binge, but I am at my goal weight, and under maintaining calories... So, I uh, shouldn't feel guilty? It tasted so good, but I feel like I cheated, somehow. (Vaguely guilty)

I'm in the final stretch and it's getting TOUGH now.
First, the good news, I went from a women's 16 to a women's 8. I was, 175 when I started, and I am 135 now. Success! I walk for excersize most days, and improved my health to the point where I could discontinue medications for pcos. I have 5 more lbs to lose, to be 5 lbs under goal, and I just can't seem to do it. 1400…

Ugh...amish baked goods binge.
So I visited our local Amish town, and stopped into their bakery for my favorite treats, butter horn rolls (like crescents...but breadier) and Dutch apple pie. I just polished off a bag of 9 butter horn rolls to myself. That was 1500 calories of transfatty deliciousness. Good God,each one tasted better than the last, and…

Easter lunch?
I am making easter lunch this year, and I am sure the meal is going to be quite high calorie, especially because we are having an edward's brand key lime pie for dessert (450 cals a slice!). So how do "make room" in your calories for a holiday meal? Or is it a "why bother"? So yeah, easter chocolate, ham, key lime…

The weirdest part of losing weight?
Losing weight has been a total mind blow for me. I was 180 lbs, 38 D bra, wearing a woman's size 16 pant when I started losing weight I am now a juniors 9, I'm 148lbs, and my bra band is a 32! I'm 15lbs from goal, but already- I've had to replace my jeans, then my bras, and ultimately even my stretch yoga pants stopped…

what are your favorite "diet" foods/products?
I have been on MFP for 38 days now, and that is long enough to see that not too many here enjoy diet food. However, I am sure there are a few here who like some diet-y things? Here are some I like- Unsweetend Almond milk (40 cals) No added sugar fudgsicles (40 cals) nestle fat free cocoa (20 cals) Outshine popsicles (25…

Calories help from an expert...please
Im new on MFP, so please excuse me if this question is asked often here. I have lost quite a bit of weight, and a few clothes sizes since september of this year. As I have gotten smaller, I notice I dont need to eat as much. I used to eat 2000+ cals a day when I was 183 lbs. Now I am 160 lbs, and I feel full and satisfied…

Hey everyone, Im new to this site, I have been using the USDA supertracker before now. I have been eating healthfully (i love food) for about 6 months now. I wasnt trying to lose weight, but the diet my doctor prescribed for my GERD had the side effect of weight loss. So I went from 183 to 155 in those 6 months. I eat…
