Big, stocky legs-need some fashion tips!
Hey guys, anyone else have stocky, thick legs? I am finding that while pants (jeans in particular) fit me at the hips/waist, i can barely get them over my darned thunder thighs! I've always had big legs, even when i was a very healthy fit weight. I hate it! I am so much happier with my top half. What style of pants do the…

Finally starting to see some tone. Not all the way there yet, but nice to see hard work pays off. Achieved through a heck of a lot of cardio and core/strength exercises (russian twists using a heavy medicine ball are my favourites). Finally seeing results after so long is priceless. July 2013: 86kg. Dec 2013: 74kg: 6 more…

3.5 months, down 9kg *note, underwear pics
I looked back on an old challenge i signed up for, and saw these pics. The stats i wrote on them in July (for my goal) are what I am now. I have honestly felt like lately i havent made progress, but this blows it out of the water. Key is to just keep going, even after that initial motivation wears off. I really believe if…

Can you lovely MFP people please have a look at my food/exercise diary and suggest something-anything that I could try/change to spark some results? Thank…

The way society treats big people
So, recently people at work have started telling me how big i used to be and how good i look now etc. It got me thinking: Telling someone they need to loose weight does not encourage them to do just that, rather it hurts them, lowers their self esteem therefore meaning they are far less likely to engage in healthy…

Proof we all have the power to better ourselves!
So, I am slowly overcoming my battle with the scales, and starting to see results beyond the sometimes meagre difference the scale tells me. A year ago i was 105kg. Now i am 80. My pants were au size 22 a year ago, now i am a 16 nearing towards a 14. Before i couldn't even run for 30 seconds, now I can 5kms! But most of…

Ladies: Compare yourself to a +size model
Hello girls, I was a bit bored tonight and feeling like I needed a self esteem boost, as I still feel I am large and unattractive at times. So I googled plus size models, to see how i 'sized' up-as i consider myself plus size. Anyway, silly me put a pic of one against a pic of me, and i was quite suprised (thinking i was…

any tips on tricep toning?
Hi guys, a friend of mine pointed out to me that while my biceps where really starting to get definition, I seem to be neglecting my triceps. I currently do 3 sets of 20 tricep dips, but due to a fitness goal (push-up training) im more focused on bench pressing, shoulder presses and push-ups. can anyone recommend a routine…

shin splints
Anyone around who has suffered from shin splints? so normally i walk to my gym, which is about 3kms, then i do about 3.5 km running on treadmill at a slight incline (if i run flat, i get pain, and not the best workout). Today, and a few other times, i didnt walk to the gym, warmed up on the treadmill by walking about 2mins…

Obsessing over weight loss
Does anyone else feel like the more weight they lose, the more they want to lose, and the more the process of it all (diet, exercise, calories etc) starts to take over your mind and your life? I mean, i know its a good thing, but I feel like 80% of my thoughts revolve around what im eating, when im going to the gym next,…

Compare apples with apples, not apples and oranges
It's hard when you start comparing yourself to other people, rather than to yourself. If you compare yourself to others, you will loose sight of how far you have come and your progress. Its an easy trap to fall into. Anyway, I have lost 27kgs, another 10kgs to go. I know im still a lot bigger than other people my…
