Heart Rate Monitor and Warrior Dash?
I'm participating in my first Warrior Dash this Saturday, and I want to wear my HRM. I have a Polar FT4. I've read it can be worn while swimming as long as you don't push the buttons on the watch. Does anyone have experience running a mud run and wearing this device? Thanks.

38 lbs and I can't see a difference - pics
So, I've been feeling like I'm bigger than ever, which is clearly not true since I've lost 70 lbs. I went to a local water park last week and thought that, if I took a new picture and compared it to last year's pic, I would get a confidence boost! The problem? I feel like I look exactly the same. There's a 38 lbs…

NSV - the space between me and my wheel - pic
When I used to drive my car, my stomach would brush the steering wheel. Now, check it out: Woohoo!

Today I quit being obese & became overweight - pics
Today I went from the BMI range of obese to the range of overweight. I'm not done yet - been at this for just over 19 months. I'm 5'0" Starting weight: 221lbs Here's my most recent set of pics before today - including them because I think it's easier for me to see what this 20 lbs I've lost looks like. Weight: 172lbs And…

Today I fit in my high school prom dress - pics!
In August of 2011, my sister got married and I was a bridesmaid. I barely fit into this size 20 dress, which is too large now: August 2011: Last summer, can't remember exactly when. Same dress: And my prom dress, size 14!

People Afraid To Mention Your Weight Loss?
I've had a lot of people ask if I've lost weight, and congratulate me. However, I've had two people who seemed hesitant to mention it. A fellow derby skater was part of a conversation I was having about it, and she said, "I didn't want to mention it, but I've noticed." And my friend's mother last night said, "I didn't want…

Not new, but looking for roller derby people
Hey! I recently added some roller derby people to my friends, and I'm really enjoying having some of my "own kind" around. If anyone else plays, and is looking for more friends, feel free to add me. Thanks!

Face Comparison (pics)
I just took a photo of myself to promote a friend's art, and when I looked at it, it didn't look like me. My face looked too thin! I pulled up a pic of me from before I started this and wanted to share the comparison. 1/2/11: 221 lbs Today, 2/1/13: 168 lbs

A small success story from me
Hey all, I posted this in the success stories section yesterday, and Nana urged me to share it here with you. It's the progression of my bridesmaid's dress. Here's the link: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/867675-the-tale-of-the-bridesmaid-s-dress-pics

The Tale of the Bridesmaid's Dress - pics!
My sister got married in August of 2011. I bought a dress that fit well at the store, but was snug as hell on the day - it took two people to zip me into it! Anyway, here's pics of the wedding day and the tight dress: I took these in April of 2012, when this dress was getting a bit too big: And I took these today. I was…

Phone and heart rate monitor?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes. When I place my smartphone on the ledge of the elliptical at my gym, it makes the built-in heart rate monitor (the kind you grip to get readings on the machine) go crazy. Anyone else have any experience with this? It's not a big deal, I just can't get an…

New Years' Resolutions?
I know some people don't make them, and some people (like me) often have a hard time sticking to them. But I thought it might be fun to share them. I only really have two, since continuing to be healthier is a life resolution. :) 1. Lose at least another 30 lbs this next year. 2. Do c25k and complete at least one 5k. What…

Anyone else a little worried about this week's weigh-in?
I tried to be good, but Christmas got the better of me and I'm really bummed already because I'm sure, if anything, I might have gained this week. I'm trying to cut myself some slack, because it was the holidays, but I don't want to become complacent and make excuses for not being on target. Anyone else feeling this way?

Rewards
I know a lot of people set up rewards based on their mini goals to help motivate them, and I think that sounds like a great idea. My big problem is that I don't have a lot of extra money floating around, so I can't make it anything expensive. What are some cheaper ideas for ways to reward myself to keep me motivated? And…

My silly NSV of last night
Last night, my boyfriend and I were at our friends' house. Every time I'd get off the couch, he kept playfully swatting my butt. When we got home, he asked if I had bought new jeans. I told him no, they were just my jeans from a few years ago that I can finally fit again. But he spent a fair amount of time admiring my…

One Year Later with Pics
A year ago today I went to my doctor for my annual exam. I decided, once the appointment was done, that I needed to get serious about getting healthy. I started using MFP all the time, I joined a gym. I had a little setback in January when I stress fractured my ankle during roller derby practice, but I did the best I could…

My NSVs of the week
I've had a good week for non-scale victories, and wanted to share them. - Last week, one of my roller derby teammates sent me a message on Facebook after practice asking me if I'd lost weight, because I looked really good. I was happy to reply and say that yes, I had, and thanked her for noticing. - On Saturday, we had a…

Protein Shake Help
I know there's already a lot of info on here about this kind of thing, but scrolling through it all didn't give me exactly what I needed, so I thought I'd ask. I lift weights 3 times a week, and do cardio 5-7 times. I know for strength training, I should possibly have a protein shake to help rebuild my muscles. I want…

NSV
Having a little Non Scale Victory today. Well, I guess it's been ongoing since I started actually working on losing weight. But here it is! The belt I couldn't fit into in December I am now wearing on the 4th notch - only one notch left on it! Pretty happy about that. :)

Traveling and trying to keep on track
I'm on the road right now, and headed to stay with my boyfriend's mom for the holiday. I've only had two meals on this trip so far, and neither were ideal for my calorie count. And I know once I'm not cooking for myself/choosing my meals, it'll be even worse. Does anyone have any tips or advice, even words of encouragement…
