What do you eat after work?
I don't know abut you all, but after a 12 hour day (or night) I have almost no energy to make anything worth while eating. usually ends up being something like cottage cheese with fruit or a bowl of cold cereal etc before I have my head on a pillow. It would be nice to have a hot meal every now and then! What do you all do…

Modified Insanity?
Hi all! I was just wondering if anyone else has tired doing a modified version of the insanity program. I've come to the conclussion that I just can't workout harder than a light run with the dog after a day of work because I'm too exhausted. I'm out the door by 6:30 am and not home until almost 9pm. Luckily that's only 3…

starting again and wanted a re-introduction!
Hi all! I started using MFP in 2011-2012, lost about 35 pounds but then stopped for a long while. Since then I haven't had any weight budge, so I thought it would be a great (and smart!) idea to start back up again! I'd love to get some new and supportive friends :)

NSV- over 1 mile!
I have been trying to run an entire mile without stopping for what seems like forever now. Today I finally did it on a treadmill :) In 14 minutes I was able to run 1.3 miles non-stop! I feel like I can hit 2 miles in no time now!

Hydrating while running
I just saw a post about hydrating after running, but how do you all hydrate during your run? I am finding as the days are getting hotter and my runs are getting longer I am super thirsty and dehydrated a lot faster into my run. Have you tried the water belts and what do you think of them? is it easy to drink while running…

How do you....
stop feeling awkward in the weight room? I always feel out of place whenever I go to the weight area, even though I really like to lift. I am still learning where equipment is and I like to have my Women's Health Big Book of Exercises with me so I don't forget part of a routine or what not, but I always feel so in the way…

Warrior Dash
I had a few friends who did this last year and it sounded like a blast, it's one of the things I want to accomplish in 2012, anyone interested in doing one of the Ohio ones? There are 2, the first one is june 2 -3, it's 3.5 miles and in Kaeppner Woods, Logan, OH and the other one is August 25, it's 3.12 miles, and is at…

BMI NSV
I lost the pound this week that put my BMI from "Obese" to "overweight"! I have been trying to achieve this for 9 months and am just so pleased I've finally reached this point.... lots of work to go still but it really feels like I've finally reached a turning point!

Not New but...
I would love to find supportive friends! I have a small group of great supportive friends but recently a lot of my supporting people/people I encouraged on here have reached their goals and have really slowed down use of MFP or stopped all together. I am so happy for them for reaching and conquering their goals but I'm sad…

Jean NSV!
I went to the store the other day to get new jeans and had the sales woman help me out deciding on a style, I had told her I was a 16 and she went and grabbed me a few pairs of pants to try. After I picked out 2 pair I went to pay and I noticed that the jeans she handed me said 14. I thought it had to be wrong so I went…

Horseback riding...
Anyone in the Cleveland area know where I could take some horseback riding lessons? I live on the west side, and the closest place near me says they have a weight limit of 160 lbs.... I've never had that issue before when I've ridden, i used to volunteer at a horse rescue and took lessons there. Anywho, I'm about 40 pounds…

broken scale?
ok ,so I weighed myself yesterday night for the first time in a long time on the same scale I have always used and was 205.2. I weighed myself this morning and it said 201.2. I stepped on and off of the scale 4 times to be sure. As thrilled as I would be if the 201.2 were actually true because it would be a new low for me,…

To the nurses out there...
I am a new grad nurse struggling to balance healthy eating/exercising with the hours I work. I work 12's and usually work 2 - 3 days in a row, rotating days/nights. I know I under eat on work days because let's be honest, it can be a challenge some days to even get 10-15 minutes to cram a bite of lunch in your mouth. And…

Baby it's cold outside!
So the weather is starting to cool down around where I am, and I was just wondering, what do you all wear during the cold months to run or walk outside?? I have never stayed committed enough to keep running during the winter but things are a bit different this year, and I want to be ready!

swimming with a HRM
So I just got a Polar FT4 and I am loving it for running etc, but I am curious to know if anyone has tried swimming with it? The instructions say that it is water resistant up to 30 m and can be used while swimming, but I am still terrified I am going to ruin it anyway if i use it for laps! thanks :)

not much change in weight, but a difference in measurements!
I've been getting down lately because I have felt like my weight hasn't budged in a while. I've just been stuck. So I just went through my measurements to see if I've at least been loosing any inches. I'm proud to say that since June I've lost 0.5 in from my neck, 3 in from my waist, and 2.5 in from my hips!! To me this…

to the asthmatic walkers/runners out there...
What do you all do in the summer? I am loving running/walking outside, but as it keeps getting hotter and thicker out it is getting harder to be out there without symptoms of asthma creeping through. I have a daily inhaler and a rescue inhaler, which I take a bit before working out. I try to get out either early in the…

workout DVD's
You all may know this by now but just incase I wanted to share with the MFP community that I have discovered that Netfilx has an AMAZING amount of workout DVD's including almost all of Jillian Michael's DVD's. If you have Netflix and like to use workout videos I highly suggest checking it out. It's a lot cheaper than…

Question about Rollerblading
So while I am trying to walk/run 4-5 times a week, i find my legs (shins and knees mostly) to be having a rough time with it. i am trying to find an alternative for one or two times a week. I know rollerblading would be lower impact and is a really good workout and the kind of challenge I'm looking for. The only thing is,…

Shin Splints
So I've been walking/running a lot more than I have before, and i notice my shins are reaallly starting to ache/are painful. I've gone through a few pages of the forums to see if I could find one related, but none caught my eye, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any suggestions as to help get rid of the shin spints/ways…
