Eating back exercise calories?
Do you eat back your exercise calories? Why/why not? There are probably thousands of threads on this but I couldn't find them. For me, rn, I'm not. I usually burn (it's all an approximation anyway) 400 extra. Eating 1400 rn, without adding those back. Thanks! <3

Fresh Corn and Paleo?
Hello, MFPs! I've been eating modified paleo -- lots of good fats, whole foods, no grains, no sugars of any kind (except for limited fruit), but I'll eat cheese (and sometimes have a glass of red wine). I've been avoiding grains because I feel like they make me bloaty and I'm getting married in a week. (Literally a week.…

Donated Blood Today-- Need to Eat More?
Heyyy fabulous MFPs! I donated blood today and already eat at a 300 cal deficit. Should I NOT eat at a deficit today? Does anyone have calorie-burning info for something like your body making up for the blood donated? A weird question, but help is appreciated. Thanks! <3

Being Sick and Exercising. :(
Hello, my wonderful MFPs! So, I've heard that if you have a cold that's above your chest, exercise is ok. If it's in your chest, no bueno. My cold has moved to my chest (with a nice rumbly, burny occasional cough), so I just did a yoga video ("Iron Yoga") instead of Insanity. I noticed that my heart rate before and after…

When to increase calories / decrease loss per week?
I'm 8 lbs. away from my goal weight, and 13 lbs. away from my ultimate goal weight. I'm female, 5'4.5, and this would put me at 130 (GW) and 125 (UGW). My calories are set to lose one pound a week, making it 1320 without exercise calories (which I always eat back). Since I'm close, and afraid of a plateau, should I set my…

Shoes or Bare Feet?
I know there are a lot of fans of "barefoot" running (with those Vibram thingies) BUT...I was wondering how many of you do HIIT or circuit training at home, with videos, without shoes? I've been doing JM's Ripped in 30, and my ankles have been creaky. So, do you choose to shoe, or not to shoe? What are the…

Tofu is evil?
Hello, my dear MFPers. I keep reading about how harmful soy products are. Is this true? I feel like all of the research contradicts itself. I'm defaulting to your expert opinions. So: - Do you eat soy products? If so, what and why? - Do you avoid soy? If so, why not? - Is there any real evidence for ethnicity based food…

HRM and BMR?
Hello, fabulous MFPers! So, I got my first HRM (Polar FT4), and love its gentle chirps while I have sweat dripping down my face, but I was wondering if I should subtract my BMR (according to the amount of time exercised) from the "calories burned" that my HRM gives me at the end of a workout. For example, my BMR is 1850…

Protein and carbs, but no fat?!
Helloo! So...I routinely have a lot of protein and carbs left, but usually eat all of my fat rather quickly. I know I should adjust my macros, but I don't know what to adjust them to. Anyway, I have about 100g of both carbs and protein that I need to eat today, and have no idea what to have. I'm trying to avoid all forms…

Carrying over calories?
Today I can eat another 800 calories, because of exercise, but I'm just exhausted and not hungry at all. Tomorrow, I'm going out to lunch and KNOW that I'll eat a lot of delicious, carb-loaded Thai food. SO...should I just go to bed? Can I "save" those calories for tomorrow? Or should I just make something to eat for the…

"Best" Sweetener?
Hello fabulous fellow MFPers! So, I'm trying to cut out sugar (as in pure sweetener stuff, and I'll eat fruit still because it has the proportion of other nutrients to sugar that nature, or genetic engineering, intended) and I've been doing pretty well with it with foods that aren't "supposed" to be sweet. The problem…

Running Question
So...I've been doing Insanity with about one day of rest in between videos. I know the recommendation is every day, but I sometimes do yoga in between. Anyway, I think I'm in decent shape. I have asthma and, for the first time in my entire life, ran an entire mile. The only reason I had to stop, however, was because of an…

Tracking Insanity as exercise?
Hi all, I was wondering what category you'd put an Insanity workout under? I know that it would generally be cardio, but would it be categorized under high impact aerobics? Additionally, what about other interval workouts? I sometimes do Jackie Warner's core workout dvds, and sometimes do Jillian's 30 Day Shred. Do you…
