Gazelle glider
Why is it so hard for me to use this machine when it is supposed to be so easy? It looks easy but then I get on it and I'm done in like 10 minutes. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm used to an hour of cardio at a shot but this thing cleans me out on energy. Same with the elliptical. Any ideas?

Another Useful Tool
I found a website that calculates your calories burned doing different exercises. I don't know how accurate it is but I used it to add an exercise to the database for anyone who can't find the exercise their looking for. http://www.fatburn.com/free_tool_activity_burn.asp

New equipment
I just got a glider. It works feet and arms simultaneously. The only thing I can find close to this in the database is "ski machine, general". I don't have an HRM so I can't measure accurate calorie burn. Would anyone concur that this glider is the same as a ski machine? If not, do you have any suggestions of how to log…

Leftovers
Do you know what the best part of portion control? THE LEFTOVERS!! I just had broiled salmon, collard greens, rice pilaf, and hushpuppy leftover from yesterday's work luncheon. Why does food always taste better the second day? What were some of the best leftovers you have had recently?

Feeling discouraged?
I was just reading an interview with Dr Oz and he was talking about how obesity is the most manageable of health issues and he believes that we can conquer it in this lifetime. He suggested that if every adult lost 5% of their body weight that it would make a significant impact worldwide. This got me to thinking. In terms…

fat
I was under in calories but over by 12 grams in fat and 312 mg in sodium. Is that bad?

Clothing optional (it's an exercise thread!!)
Is it better to workout fully covered so you can sweat more or is there a risk of overheating? I've always heard the more you sweat then the more calories you burn. I've also heard of people having heart attacks because they were jogging in sweats on hot, sunny day. Just curious to what extent working out fully covered is…

Calcium?
You know that burn you get in your stomach that you get when you are exercising? I was always told that was calcium burning in the muscle. Since starting MFP, I haven't felt that burn while exercising, but tonight, I went walking with my wrist weights and I felt it just a little. Is that burn a bad thing? Should I increase…

Changing my exercise plan
I realize that my weight loss has been stalled out for a couple of weeks now. I think that I am going to need to make some changes to my exercise plan to increase the intensity. Right now, I walk and I use Wii Fit and Wii boxing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve these programs?

I am struggling
Lately, I have really had a hard time getting my metabolism to do its thing. I stopped smoking and started using the patch. Could the constant presence of nicotine in my system be causing my metabolism to go haywire? Suggestions?

I'm a little disappointed
I just realized that an MFP community member deleted me from their friend's list. I think the reason is that I am not in the "eat all your calories" camp. I just want to be clear that I think everyone should do this in what ever way works best for them. Clinically obese people, such as myself, are able to safely lose…

Losing my mojo...
I really don't know what I could ask of my MFP friends to help with this problem. I've lost a lot of weight in 4 months and I am very proud of myself for it. But lately, I just don't seem to have the drive to exercise like I did. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I might get my groove back?

Need help picking dinner
I have a social function after work. I know I am probably going over in my calories today cause I plan to drink, but I still would like to find something to eat that isn't too overboard. Could someone look at the menu and make some suggestions? http://manuelstavern.com/menu/menu.pdf

Capsacin
I recently read that capsacin can help boost metabolism. Great news for me because I love spicy food. The problem is I am not sure which foods actually have capsacin and which are spicy for some other reason. Can anyone suggest some foods or products that might be high in capsacin?

When do you take your vitamins?
Does the time of day affect the benefits of your vitamins? Just curious.

Too much fruit???
Is it possible to get too much fruit? I'm not a big vegetable fan though I do eat it and enjoy it. But lately I have noticed that my diet is really heavy with fruit. Today, I plan to eat 2 bananas and a pluot. I eat the bananas for the potassium. I recently started taking vitamins (B complex, calcium, magnesium, and zinc)…

Vitamin B complex
I have been considering taking this supplement. A friend had recommended it to boost my metabolism, but I also read that it can help with water retention. Does/has anybody taken a vitamin B complex? How well did it work for you?

Cheese?!?!
I love cheese!!! Any suggestions how I can incorporate more into my diet without the calories, fat, and sodium.

What to do now?
I increased my activity levels recently. I weigh daily. I'm not usually detrimentally affected by the scale but I use the daily measurement to gage what actions I should take next. I gained a half pound back last night. I'm not upset about that because I know my body is working on converting fat to muscle and I noticed a…

Love wearing my FAT jeans
I have had a pair of over-sized jeans for a couple of years. I bought them a size or two bigger so I could be comfortable in them. Now that I have lost 30 lbs, I struggle to keep these bad boys up. But I don't mind because it is a reminder of the success I have already had. That helps me stay on track because I want to get…

Women only!
I am looking for exercises that can be done with active endometriosis. I've been in a whole lot of pain lately, and I know my doc is going to want to address it. But for now, I need help. I've tried walking some and I've been doing low impact stuff on the Wii Fit, but I usually can't go for long. I'm hoping for suggestions…

I need some help
I started out my first month doing an hour of cardio a day and strength training twice a week. I lost 20 lbs. Then I went on vacation and pulled an abdominal muscle. Didn't realize how serious it was at the time until I came home. I've been laying off exercise ever since. I have aggravated the injury at least twice since…

Sugar frustration
So I've been trying to pay more attention to my sugar because some seem to think that snacking my way through my weight loss could be detrimental to my sugar levels. All I have had today is a yogurt, a muffin, and a Fiber One granola bar, and I have already maxed out on sugar, but I have 1400 cals left to eat today. Any…

Muscle strain?
I pulled an abdominal muscle around two weeks ago. I tried to work out a few days later and I was in so much pain my co-workers were convinced I had appendicitis and made me leave work early to see a doctor. Needless to say, it wasn't appendicitis. I have laid off working out since then. It feels much better after two…

Just sort of taking a survey here. Totally random (though your answers will help me with a personal situation). Have you ever lied to yourself about something and how did it turn out for you?

Good choices at the Chinese restaurant
Hi all! I kind of overdid it at the Chinese place tonight. It's just that it is one of my favorites. Any suggestions on the more healthy choices. I really would like to avoid the veggie dishes.
