12000 calorie donut
My food diary today shows breakfast....quick add 12000 calories... No, I didn't REALLY eat 12000 calories for breakfast...but I had a McDonalds breakfast sandwich AND a donut so I felt like a PIG and FELT like I had eaten at least 12000 calories! What makes me do stupid things like that sometimes? Now I feel bloated,…

Recommendations for a treadmill...not much $$
I really need to get a treadmill...my husband has Alzheimer's so I can only go to the gym some mornings. I want a treadmill so while he is watching TV in the evening I can still get in some exercise. I have googled them and several places talk about some of them being rip offs and no good unless you spend over $1000...but…

Does anyone do audio books on MP3?
I love listening to books while exercising...more than music. I have just done a couple from a free site (Librivox) but want to get some of the newer books...anyone know the best site?

Question for bikers...re: bike carriers
Ok...I just got the bike I love. Now I need a carrier. I'm not going to be going cross country or anything like that. I just want to be able to haul it to nearby parks and the shop for tune ups...most trips would be under 15 miles...not over 50 probably. And the problem is I have a Toyota Camry with a spoiler. Is there a…

Got my new bicyle today...a Giant
I finally got my new bike...I have been looking for a few weeks now. I finally settled on a Giant Cypress St. Anyone else have one? If so what's your opinion? I am not a racing kind of person...just ride on our paved county road and in the parks. Think I made a good choice?

Before and after pictures...still a bit to go
Hope I can remember how to post pictures! The original one in hot pink and black was taken when I started in Feb. 2010. The others in white, pink and orange tops were all within the past month or so. I will say I have been really struggling the past 3 months but have still managed to maintain...just haven't lost.

Restaurant "Low Cal" Menus---BEWARE!
We all eat out occasionally right? And that is ok. Most of the time we probably all try to chose restaurants that offer calorie friendly..or at least calorie concious menus. At least I know I do. And while I am aware that the calories listed might vary some I like to think that the restaurant is making a good effort to…

Question for bike riders
I just recently started riding bike some just to add in something different. We live on a country road (is blacktop though which is good cause I wouldn't ride on gravel). Has quite a few good hills. Is 10 miles in an hour a decent speed/ride? Also, any advice on a seat that isn't going to KILL me? The one that came on the…

Any info from runners on Mortons Neuroma and running?
Any runners out there familiar with Mortons Neuroma? I have it in my left foot. So far since I started this journey I have only been walking, mostly on the treadmill, using the eliptical and the stairs. I have been toying with doing the Couch to 5K but am concerned with the foot. Right now I am doing a 9 to 11 incline on…

Question on the "awesome 69 calorie no-fat cupcake"
Not sure who posted this recipe originally but I just found it on here and was going to make it but whe I look at the cake mix box it says 140 calories for 1/12 of the box so even if you made 24 cupcakes that would be 70 calories each without the pineapple. Am I missing something? They do sound awesome I just can't quite…

90 lbs. gone...progress pics!
I still am having a hard time believing that I have lost 90 lbs! I started this Feb. 22, 2010 and loved it from day one. There is so much support! I love reading (and seeing) progress posts so have decided to post this. I hope to eventually lose about 50 more pounds. Thanks all of you for being there!

HRM help
I've read some posts on here about HRM's but still have a few questions. I tried one from Sportline and it seemed difficult to use. It had dual time display and not sure if that was why but it seemed difficult to get to the different readings. Also, I understand it is based on your heart rate but should your weight play a…

Photos...Before and after 63 lbs lost
I am approximately half way to my goal so thought this might be a good time for a before and current photo. I still have a long way to go but am proud of my success to this point. I LOVE MFP! I hope the photo comes through...not sure I'm doing this right. If not it is in my profile pictures:smile:

Good walking shoes...anyone?
I could use some good advice from anyone that know what kind of shoes I should buy. I have arthritis in my left food, had a terrible time with my achilles tendon several years back and now am having severe pain in the ball of my left foot. I notice both my feet tend to "lean" inward when I walk too. Having said all that,…

Exercise help please!
Hi! I'm 55 years old and doing good so far at getting some weight. However, I still have a LONG way to go! My goal (long term) is not just to get the weight off but to get into better shape than I have ever been in. Even when I was younger and thin I wasn't physically active. So, I am looking for some good exercise that…

New and looking for friends and encouragement
I just joined last Monday. Have done good so far. I have about 105 pounds to lose to where I will be comfortable...anything I can do beyond that would be great but not a must. I have been overweight all my adult life but was still in good health. Now I am having knee and foot problems, can barely get around some days and…

Boiled egg
Under the food help why is it showing such a range for boiled eggs? It ranges from 70 calories to over 200? A boiled egg is a boiled egg right?
