a little risque- but a question
So, I've found that after weight lifting and running again for over three months, I am having trouble with cramping in my legs during certain acts with my bf. No other time... just then. I eat a banana a day, and hydrate adequately. Thoughts?

Half Marathon race selection!
Hey my crazy runners! I have a question for you all: What has been the most scenic race for you all? What was that race in the US that made you run with total awe about the beauty of nature? I am going to run my first half marathon sometime next year but I feel like I should sign up for real motivation. Any thoughts on…

running (it's the small things)
So I've been running for the better part of 3 months. I used to run quite a bit, but I've been working my way back up to it. I typically run for about a half hour every day. Today I had a brief, beautiful window of about three minutes midway through where I really felt that effortless perfect stride. I always think of it…

anyone get cranky after a workout?
So I realized that I get short tempered after I finish my workout. I dunno if there's some extra testosterone hanging around, or if my extra achy muscles are making me less than delightful to be around, but I'm not exactly nice. Anyone else having this issue?

Question about heartrate x running
I am aware that for training, I should be shooting for about 70-80 percent of my maximum heart rate. For me, that should be about 164 beats per minute. (my max should be around 205 according to standard formulas) My problem is this, while my resting heart rate is quite low (60bpm) my working heart rate appears to be very…

plateau: you are probably not in one
I'm not saying that people don't go into plateaus- heck I've been the same weight for 3 months! However, a week or two weeks of not losing weight is not a plateau. Pretty please, my dear MFP'ers- stop freaking out because of two weeks without scale change. That isn't a plateau. All in good time! Keep chugging away, and…

Best Running Headphones
Hey all. My running headphones bit the dust (goodbye beloved friends) and I was wondering what all you super sweaty runners like to wear! My last pair was…

Filling protein requirement
Alrighty, I eat eggs (3 whites), greek yogurt, and some sort of meat everyday- but I'm still short on my protein by at least 100 grams. How do I fix this? I eat peanut butter and snack on nuts... but I don't get enough protein to really justify the calories associated with them. If you think I should try a protein powder,…

Shoe advice from people who know? (pretty please)
Alright, so I know there are a million of these but- I recently was fitted at a running store and was sent off with Brooks Trance 10's. Once a put 20 or so miles into them (broken up into 3 mile increments) I developed some posterior tibial tendonitis. My running store is willing to exchange them but now I'm not sure what…

butt exercises
I'm looking for exercises that make it tough to sit the next day. Right now I do walking lunges, squats, side lifts, back and ups (making up names to describe what I'm doing btw) and I can't seem to get a muscle burn the next day and it makes me feel like I'm not challenging myself enough. I'm starting to wonder if I need…

Runners: Posterior Tibial Tendonitis- fix me!
Hey fellow runners. I'm pretty sure I have posterior tibial tendonitis since all the symptoms match up nicely. I have proper running shoes, a flat foot, had shin splints but they seem much better this week (only painful when applying slight pressure to shin), and I'm upping the intensity (distance wise) every time I run…

how many calories should I be set at?
I keep hearing people say that their calories were automatically set too low and I am wondering if I should up my calories or not. I also eat my exercise calories. MFP has me set at 1200 calories. what sort of deficit should I be striving to? I'm 5'5", sedentary, and 132 pounds.

Sugar fast
Hey MFP'ers! Would anyone want to join me on a 21 day sugar fast? I've been noticing a *cough* binge on sugar lately in my diary (darn you, aunt nancy's chocolate cake!) and I want to retrain my body to crave sweets less. I think we all know the benefits of this (sugar is toxic and all) so I won't bother explaining them.…

wtf with the muscle vs. fat discussion
I don't get it! Everyone goes on a rant about how muscle doesn't actually weigh more than fat it's just "more dense". Okay, yeah, it's more dense... but if you take 1 cubic inch of muscle and compare it to 1 cubic inch of fat... the muscle weighs more. So doesn't this make muscle weigh more than fat? Maybe I'm just "dense"…

looking for chocolate cake heaven
Alrighty MFP'ers, my 2 year anniversary ( with bf) is coming up and I wanted to make my loved one a chocolate cake (and buy him some port to go with it :D ) Anyone have a "to die for" chocolate cake recipe for me? It doesn't have to be healthy (my bf will probably eat half before I can sneak it into my calories allotment)…

Pulse FT7, high calorie counts?
Opinions: I feel like my calories burned via my Pulse FT7 are rather high. 45 minutes of weight lifting got me 345 calories burned. 35 minute of interval running killed 420 calories. I know my heart rate skyrockets when I workout but... really? I don't want to overeat but I don't want to under-eat either. I'm having a hard…

*cough* slow movement on the bathroom front
Alright, so I drink a ton of water throughout the day, way beyond the required amount, and eat probably 10 grams more fiber than needed every day but things aren't moving along, so to speak. My diet is rich in veggies and flax seed (I put flax in everything!). It seems like this is a pretty common occurrence for people…

advice for an over-protonator
So I've been been having issues with shin splints lately (I run in nike free) and finally got fitted by a running shoe store. They did the whole treadmill thing and it seems that I'm over-protonating like a mofo. I was fitted into some very nice shoes and a small fortune later, here I am. However, I hate running in shoes.…

body fat % help
I'm having trouble believing the body fat percentages that are being given to me by all of the body fat % calculators. Currently I am being labeled as 27% body fat. age: 21 weight: 131 height: 5' 5" waist: 26" hips: 40" Now clearly I have a booty on me, but I am not exactly overwhelmed with fat here (no rolls). So being…

Unexpected NSV
Hey everyone! I began eating with a conscience and working out daily around the beginning of June and although I haven't noticed the scale move (it's alright, I suspect I am building muscle and there isn't much to lose), I have noticed the strangest thing: I'm going to bed at a reasonable hour and waking up early. I've…

p90x June start
I'm hoping to talk to some people to share in my pain of P90x, round 1. And perhaps, do a workout check in for motivation (?). I started my first round beginning on June 12th and would LOVE to talk about everyone's goals, how they feel about to program and any set backs they might be having and need to work through. I feel…
