looking for chocolate cake heaven
Alrighty MFP'ers, my 2 year anniversary ( with bf) is coming up and I wanted to make my loved one a chocolate cake (and buy him some port to go with it )
Anyone have a "to die for" chocolate cake recipe for me? It doesn't have to be healthy (my bf will probably eat half before I can sneak it into my calories allotment) but it HAS to be super chocolatey, moist, and moderately sweet (not too much!).
I make a whipped cream, cream cheese, and chocolate frosting for a top, but I am not satisfied with my current recipe for the cake.
Anyone have some recipes stashed in their cupboard that they want to dust off for this unhealthy splurge of mine? Thanks in advance, everyone!

My mom makes this cake every year for all our birthdays and it is always amazing. She usually makes cream cheese frosting to go with it, but you could do any type of frosting you want: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/black-magic-cake/detail.aspx

I made this one year for Thanksgiving and topped with chocolate frosting - it was to die for! I've also done it in a bundt pan with no frosting and it was amazin to just heat up for a few seconds in the microwave to soften the chocolate chips. I followed the recipe to a T, except used mini chocolate chips instead of the regular sized chips.

I make a gluten free and dairy free chocolate cake and mix in frozen berries..but you don't have too..it is the best choc cake i have ever had (not blowing my own trumpet here ). Go to this website here and there is a recipes archive and type in chocolate cake in the search and this should come up. The cake stays moist for days and everyone I have made it for doesn't even know it is gluten free. Hope you enjoy.
