How do you like your hot chocolate?
I like dark chocolate with a splash of half-and-half and a dash of cinnamon, chile powder, and cumin. Yum! (Does smell a bit like pencil shavings, though.)

Cheetos are evil.
That is all.

for my fellow Texans
http://www.bluebell.com/the_little_creamery/press_releases/press_spc.html Yes, it is as good as it sounds. And if you stick to the 1/2 cup serving size, it can be part of your MFP daily plan.

Motivate me!
Last winter, I started counting WW points. I lost weight slowly, which is fine since I know that's healthy. I had reached the halfway point when I hit a plateau. Then I tore a bunch of tendons in my foot and had to stop my walking and biking workouts. Now that my foot has healed, I find that I have zero desire to exercise,…

Question for Weight Watchers people
I've been counting WW Points Plus as part of my MFP diary. In 14 weeks, I lost 8 pounds. The past three weeks, however, I have stayed at the same weight. I know it's common to hit a plateau every now and then, plus I haven't been able to work out as often (injury and illness). But now I'm ready to kick it in gear and lose…

March Madness!
I'm not a basketball fan, but I gotta support Baylor! Hoping the men will surprise folks and that the women will go 40-0! Sic 'em, Bears!

Just passed the halfway mark!
After 14 weeks, I've lost 8.8 pounds, but 5.5 inches -- woo hoo! I know, it's nothing to compare with what lots of folks are doing, but I'm excited.

IHOP Free Pancakes!
Today is Free Pancake Day at IHOP (they do ask for a donation for children's charities). I think it's good to splurge every now and then, so I'm going to have pancakes for lunch. Since I do the WW points+ thing (and don't aim for only 1200 calories a day), I have "freebie" points available. Is anyone else planning to…

Any heel pain sufferers out there?
I have been trying to walk 30 minutes a few days a week, but my heels hurt afterwards (and the next day). I talked to a guy at a fitness store and he evaluated my situation (I know, he's not a medical professional) and suggested I have plantar fasciitis and need shoes with moderate stability arch support. I bought some new…

MFP, WW and those mysterious 1200 calories
I have used MFP for years, sometimes more diligently than others, and it has always assigned me a daily caloric intake goal of 1200. I'm a petite woman, and at my heaviest, only needed to lose 15 pounds or so, but no matter the amount I wanted to lose, I was assigned 1200 calories. Thanks to middle age and a slowing…

Anyone get "the reminder?"
I have to admit, I've really slacked off. I don't think I've entered any meals in two weeks. I've just been so busy -- too busy for snacking, too, which would explain the 2 pounds I've lost in the past month (without trying). Oh -- my question -- has anyone received the "you haven't been back in over a week!" e-mail from…

Confession time!
When it comes to logging in your daily food, does anyone else find themselves slacking off? Now that I've been at my goal weight for several months, I seem to have lost some of my discipline -- not with what I eat, but with recording it. If I skip a day, I'll usually go back and enter it, but if I miss 2-3 days in a row, I…

Club soda is my friend!
I've been trying to watch my sugar, but every so often, I want something sweet to drink. I try not to eat or drink anything with artificial sweeteners, so I have to be creative. I've discovered that mixing fruit juice or soda (Dr. Pepper's my favorite) with club soda not only cuts the drink's sugar by half, it's light and…

Exercise DVD for Wheelchairs?
Can anyone recommend workout videos for a person in a wheelchair? My sister is looking to improve balance, strength, and cardio. She cannot get out of the chair to exercise, and has limited movement of her legs. I've heard Wii sports is good, but it's out of our price range. Thanks!

Woo hoo!
Today is my 19th anniversary of being melanoma free! We're celebrating with enchiladas! Wear sunscreen, y'all!

chocolate bagel!
This isn't healthy, but soooo good -- 1. Toast a plain bagel 2. Spread one half with a little neufchatel or fat-free cream cheese 3. On the other half, poke three dark chocolate kisses into the bagel, evenly spaced 4. Put the two halves together and wait for the chocolate to melt, then eat it like a sandwich FYI -- one…

confession
I've taken the past ten days off from logging my food. I went out of town, and had limited internet access, then returned and had a hectic week, so today is my first day back. I know I've eaten more, what with being on vacation and then being under stress after coming back home. I'm curious to see how charting my meals and…

Whew!
It was such a hectic week, I didn't enter my calories each day and I knew I went over. I finally put them all in (yes, I actually remembered what I ate) and this morning when I weighed, I was exactly the same as two weeks ago! Woo hoo!

Confession
I just ate a Snickers bar! The vending-machine, full-sized one! And I don't even feel guilty!

Boost shake recipe
Ok, not much of a recipe, but I just tried this and it was great. Put a few ice cubes in a blender and add quite a bit of cinnamon and one bottle of chocolate Boost. Blend until the ice is crushed. The cinnamon helps kill the vitamin taste that the Boost has, and research shows cinnamon is good for you.
