When it comes to logging in your daily food, does anyone else find themselves slacking off? Now that I've been at my goal weight for several months, I seem to have lost some of my discipline -- not with what I eat, but with recording it. If I skip a day, I'll usually go back and enter it, but if I miss 2-3 days in a row, I just pick up where I am.

I really should stick with it -- my doctor has me on a pre-diabetes "watch list," so I've actually lost weight without trying (cutting back on sweets does that, you know). So even though I'm 5 pounds under my goal, I need to keep track of carbs & sugar.

And don't even ask about exercise -- I've had a health issue for the past couple of months that has prevented me from doing anything strenuous.

Anyone else having trouble sticking to the MFP routine?

  • ummm. Yeah. I was on a MFP hiatus for about 2 months. :ohwell:

And I was NOT at my goal weight. I had tricked myself into believing that I had logged in long enough to know what kind of foods I could/should eat each day, and that I didn't need to waste my time logging in anymore. Well, over 2 months I gained 5 lbs. back, and began to look and feel like crap again. I realize now that I NEED this site to keep myself honest and aware. And the community's positive advice, support, encouragement, recipes, etc is invaluable. No one else in my personal life is really fitness minded, and I need to hear/read the thoughts of those who share the same goals as me. MFP is the only place I can get that, so I am back. And I plan to stay.
  • When time gets short and life gets hectic, yea I missed a day or two. Trying to piece it together is a mess but I attempt to get as close to what I ate as possible. I am pretty predictable when it comes to food, so that Sherlock Holms detective bit is easier to do. Still, I did not complete and enter for yesterday and I am working on filling it out today. But I find that the more I watch what I eat the better I do. While the days I reconstruct are always above my goal calorie intake. I guess it is time to buckle down again reaffirm my determination and get back to work.
So that is why I am sitting in front of my computer on a Saturday morning when the sun is out for the first time in a week.
