Question for Weight Watchers people

I've been counting WW Points Plus as part of my MFP diary. In 14 weeks, I lost 8 pounds. The past three weeks, however, I have stayed at the same weight. I know it's common to hit a plateau every now and then, plus I haven't been able to work out as often (injury and illness). But now I'm ready to kick it in gear and lose some more weight.
I've read that some WW folks change up their daily points -- fewer than their goal on some days, more on others, as long as their weekly total stays the same.
I'm thinking about starting each week with only 39 freebie points, instead of the normal 49. Has anyone tried this?

Follow-up to my two-week-old experiment --
I've actually gained weight this week, a little more than a pound and a half. I have increased my exercise, but not as much I should. I know weight fluctuates constantly, so I'm not worried about this little "setback."
I think I'll go back to the full 49 freebie points next week.0
