Resistance Band and weight distribution
Just curious about the weight doing workouts vs using weights. I cannot afford weights, and have used resistance bands pretty successfully, but never really thought about how much weight. With these "perfect bands" that I had bought, and the lifeline ones that I'm about to buy because the perfect bands are not so perfect,…

What an amazing run!
I've been re-building my running after a hiatus of about 4 months. I stopped after my marathon last September, and did Insanity while it was cold, started again the first of March. Since I'm coupling my runs with the Insanity Asylum programs, I tend to not go very far in my running as to not over-do it, but today I decided…

Let the games begin!!
Started Insanity Asylum this week.....woah. That's all I'm going to say about that. I'm 3 days in, and I love it. I tested each workout except for Gameday/Overtime (I wanted those to be a surprise) before my official start, and I just love how the program is structured. If you have just started or are starting soon, add me…

Insanity is COMPLETE!!
Well today I did the FINAL fit test and have officially completed INSANITY! I'm not going to lie, it was a tough journey. I suffered two injuries, one still nagging me, but I pushed through with the doctors blessing, and didn't skip one single workout. I went in with realistic expectations, and am completely happy with the…

I need your help!!
Please take a moment to read and watch, as this is very important to myself and my son's immediate and extended family! Some of you may know that my son Zachary has several physical and mental disorders. His mother and I are now on a site in hope of winning a handicapped accessible van. His needs are growing and our…

Mileage/pace progression
I'm building my mileage back up after essentially 6 months off of running. Ran a marathon in September and then nothing after surgery in October. I've run on about 40 miles so far this month, at slower paces just to get back into the habit of running. Doing Insanity this winter has helped a ton because I'm able to do a 10k…

First 5k race of the year yields fastest times of the year!
Did the Heart-Mini 5k this year, because I didn't really train at all for the half-marathon. Rather than do what I did last year and just say, screw it, I decided to just run the 5k and try to run my best 5k of 2014. It was cold....like, the wind was cutting through every layer I had before the start. Not to mention…

Beachbody T-Shirt stuff
Hey guys, I was just wondering, after you completed a program and e-mailed your before/after pictures and the form to successstories@beachbody.com, did you get a response that they got it? I'm just curious because the first time I sent the stuff, it came back undelivered. The 2nd time I sent it (I adjusted the picture size…

HRM Calories burned while running seem VERY high
Well this is odd, and I'm curious to know if this is even close to accurate, which I seriously doubt. I use a Polar FT4, and I went for my first run of the year, just a little 3.25 mile run. I've been doing Insanity since the beginning of the year. I wore my HRM for the first time on my run and averaged a leisurely 10:19…

Month 2....how the hell?
How in the hell do you get through month 2??? Today was day 2, and I already feel like a complete failure with it! After day one....I took a rest day to reset my schedule...and believe me...I needed it! Today I did MAX Interval Plyo, and my triceps feel like they're going to explode, my shoulders and legs and knees feel…

Insanity Mid-Month 2 results
I've always been cautious of what my measurements were, and I'm positive that my measurements aren't always in the same place because they fluctuate from week to week quite greatly for the most part...this week is no exception especially in the thigh area. One thing I know I have been consistent on however is my weight,…

Favorite Insanity workout?
I'm not very far into the program, only in my 2nd week, but I have my favorites, so far. Pure Cardio is probably my favorite, even though it's damn tough. The wost for me is Power Cardio and Resistance. I pull my inner left thigh every time during the warmups. I gotta work on landing into a bit less of a wider squat during…

Polar FT4 and NIke+ GPS Sportswatch
I've got the Polar FT4 for my HR while doing Insanity, and when I'm done with this, I want to get back to running, but training using HR zones etc, rather than focus on speed. I'm wondering, will my HR Transmitter on the FT4 work with my Nike+ GPS Sportswatch? I know the Wearlink will, but not sure if that's the same thing.

Partial range of motion, or knee push-ups?
I'm wondering which is better, partial range or pushups on knees with full range? The reason I ask, is because I have a strain on my front left side around the waist. I went to the doctor, and it's not a hernia, too low for an abdominal hernia and too high for an inguinal hernia. I was cleared to do basically whatever as…

Insanity Week 2 Thoughts
(accidentally posted this in motivation and support, can a mod please delete that one?) I finished up my Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs for the day and so ended week 2 of Insanity! There were a few things I noticed this week comparing it to last week so I figured I'd share my experience so far. 1.) Things get better. I noticed…

Time off between Insanity Months
I've got one more day before the recovery week with Insanity....I've just about made it through the month! Now the kicker; earlier this week, I believe I may have suffered some sort of Sports Hernia. I don't feel a bulge or anything, I've been pushing through doing what I can, stopping when the pain gets to be enough…

Just when I thought I was a failure at Insanity!
Just when I thought I was a failure at Insanity, I did something I never thought I would do. I'm almost through Week 3, I've got one day left. I've always had to take extended breaks, pause the DVD etc....I was reading a lot of stories about where people were at, and how it seemed fairly easy sometimes, and I was beginning…

Proper use of calipers
I was wondering about the proper use of calipers. I tested my body fat percentage last week with it, and did the pinch test according to the Accu-Measure or whatever it's called, and got about 27% (I'm 5'9" 185lb so it's high). The next week, I got about 26%, so it went down which is good. However, when I do a 3 point…

Anyone happen to play chess??
Just wondering how many chess players are on here? I'm an avid chess player and am active in the 45/45 League on ICC, where my team is headed to the playoffs this season, and play occasionally on chess.com I've noticed that since working out and keeping things going my mind has been sharper, and I'm taking in information…
