Our daughters do worry about us. Even Kathy the youngest is coming by once a week to check on us old folks.
Jerry went to church today the first time in a long time. I hated him leaving me along for 2 hours. but I made it OK He warm up my dinner for me when e came in. My soup bowl is getting low. So need him to make another batch for me.The church could not afford the bldg they were in so they bought an old theater and been remodeling it. for the past year.
I am almost ready to go to ER with my pain I am having. But don't know if I should or not.without talking to my doctor or not. So I will just take it easy the rest of the day./ and keep taking Tylenol Which do not help much.
Going to lay down.

Hi, just me with a big thank you for the Mother's Day card. I've just found it. Of course Michael who DID show up with Cinders and Sandy hadn't a clue it was Mother's Day in the UK. It's connected to whenever Easter is over there. Originally a religious holiday when we gave our moms wild flowers. Alas I couldn't find any tulips to quietly celebrate but Michael and Sandy gave me rose scented bath foam from the UK without realizing it was a special day! So that was rather nice. I think it was actually a thank you for Sunday lunch. Lovely surprise SANDY. Thank you again,

Oh Anne, what a cute doggie. He doesn't look like he runs around like crazy. Ha, looks can be deceiving. I will admit to being puzzled about Mother's Day in the U.K. I saw someone post that she had received a card and flowers and I was somewhat puzzled.
Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate today.
We had a rather long church service today as they have added in several elements on a regular basis that had been missing for quite a long time. One is children's moment. Well, not exactly a moment as all the kids need to walk up, select a place to sit and arrange themselves (which takes longer than you might think) and then follows a demonstration or a reading or some type of lesson geared to the kids and now followed by some type of treat/reward. I think the adults enjoy this as much as the children do.
Our retired minister and his ailing wife made it to church today as well which led to an extended meet and greet time as everyone wanted to stop and try to talk with her (she's unable to stand for long). Anyway, long day but. Very nice one.
I have just finished eating, now to finish the dishes and then I will be ready for the 2 hour finale of Downton! I had a message from the library that I have another item on hold to pick up. Season 6 of Downton. Is that last season?? Or the one we are seeing now?
I haven't always been a faithful fan of this show but am interested in how they tie up (or fail to tie up) all the bits and pieces left outstanding.
Marie, maybe you could try to call your doctor tomorrow??
So sorry for everyone who is hurting and/or ailing.
Hugs.

Worried about Marie. Sending good thoughts.0
-
Yes, I'm worried too. Anne.0
-
Marie, just a suggestion but why don't you call Alice or Kathy and ask them to take you to the ER just to be safe.0
-
Oh it is over. Downton final show = Great!! My eyes are leaking. Sigh.
Lin0 -
Was it two hours, I didn't notice!
Marie I know you feel bad, but don't let that keep you from doing what you need to do. As long as you take a complete list of your medication and over the counter too, I would go to the ER. Your doctor wouldn't say wait.
We are worried about you. We love you.
Lin, I loved the children coming forward at a church we visited. So precious!
I've been thinking about your former boss, I guess knowing what other people would have to do for you as you are wasting away, well, it must have felt like the lesser of two evils. And the other one, it's so horrible, coming home to that.
Today felt good in the sun. Shade was chilly. Went to Walmart for prescription meds and groceries. Glad it's done! I don't like shopping anymore!
Shirley, your day sounded like a good time and relaxing. I didn't know it would make you tired. Interesting.
Anne, I love that Cinders!
Good night all, Buzz included!

So late, but can't get to bed til I catch up on you! Better physical day for me, so I feel bad about MARIE and SANDY! Don't let it go, gals!
PATSY, we missed the showing of Room upstairs today, but the synopsis brought me back to the days of squelch and fire! Isn't that what Trump is trying to enforce now? If you protest, off with your head! Kill the Messenger also showed what happened in our government during the "war on drugs" in the 80s, when we watched Oliver North do his thing that was never tried properly in that period! Sometimes it'd hard to know who is the "enemy"!
We watched the ending to Downton Abbey tonight, and soap opera perhaps, but posh soap! I loved all the endings and beginnings!
Visited the kids today and actually learned more about the what and why of what happened, and it was a powder keg waiting to be ignited for a number of years. Many people knew it was coming....just not when!
Off to bed as Mike has lab tests really early in the morning!
HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY, to all our ladies who celebrate it! Sorr I'm late!
ANNE, cute dog, cuter guy!

Busy, busy but wanted to check in to say good morning before I get on with a million tasks. On Friday I spent the day between hedge and dog trimming as the groomer visited in the afternoon. By sunset I could hardly stand upright but after a hot shower, warm fire and delicious Cornish pasty I fell into bed and felt a lot better in the morning, enough to visit the allotment with my neighbour to start digging over the beds. We came home with a large bag of leeks so I'll be making soup at some point today.
Sandy ~ Thanks for being so thoughtful about our Mothering Sunday.... a lovely graphic.
It does sound like your nasty bug may have become a chest infection so don't let the child minding get in the way of getting yourself to a doctor because if you don't and things get worse you won't be available to look after Robby for several days!!
Anne ~ Cinders is delightful and has those gorgeous eyes that draw you in to their dark pools so you have to adore the dog however naughty!!
Marie ~ Everyone is saying it sweetheart, find yourself a doctor to check you out if for no other reason than to put your mind at rest and advise on whether you should be sitting, lying down or getting into any other position.
Buzz ~ Having a retrospective look at what happened to your grandson is bound to give everyone some feelings of guilt but from what you've told us it appears he was beyond help a long time ago. My understanding is that suicide rates are highest amongst young men and because mental health issues never seem to get enough recognition or medical help other than pills it must be a desperate place for them to be in what with social and economic pressures. On a happier note, well done for staying awake for the last of Downton!!
Phoebe ~ You're keeping the information on how to get pornographic pop-ups to yourself!! LOL I do hope Honey has recovered from her dancing injury. This morning George started our walk with a limp which I think was caused by stepping on to prickly cuttings from the hedge even though I thought I'd swept everything up. We kept to grassy paths and by the time we got back to the car he seemed ok.
Oh dear, I must get on because I have a meeting after lunch with the chairperson of our allotment association to see if I can hand on the secretary's position to someone else as I struggle to find the time or to be honest, the inclination!!
Hello to all I've missed....... you know who you are!!

Good morning girls. I can officially confirm that spring is on the way because this morning despite snow still lying around a little migrant bird woke me up singing its little heart out, or more likely yelling "love is in the air" here I am! The temperature is going to zoom upwards today, tra la la, spring the sweet spring. I'm so glad that amongst other things I treated the birds to a huge bag of bird seed yesterday AND a sturdy cast iron bird feeder because the squirrels just about destroyed the old one this past winter.
I had to smile this morning when I realized that me and the Queen have something in common. Queen Elizabeth has two birthdays every year, a real one and later an unofficial birthday and this year I get TWO Mothering Sunday's! How's that for neat!
I echo everyone's concern for SANDY and MARIE. The cold and cough are lasting an awful long time, and MARIE, don't hesitate to go get advice.
As for Cinders, she IS the sweetest little dog and we are noticing that she isn't quite so energetic now she's a big girl of one year. I'm hoping I can stop picking up the large plant pots soon when she arrives here, and the geraniums which are putting out new foliage (isn't that wonderful!) will be back in my small plot in a few weeks, thus no problem there anymore! She forgets all training however in the street when she spots any other dog being a very friendly pooch and rushes to the end of her leash, so I gather doggie training school is in her future.
BUZZ, - in my thoughts a lot these past few days. Please try not to let yours and everyone else's grieving affect YOUR health. Easily happens.
JACKIE, I hope you can resign the allotment association secretary position. You have such a lot on your plate with garden, allotment, home, pets, bees etc that there's hardly time for leisure time with your friends and if anyone deserves it you most certainly do after a traumatic 2015.
Well EVERYBODY I must away for my usual busy Monday.
God bless all, ❤️ Anne.0 -
Marie, I hope you will let us know how you are this morning.. we are concerned!
Good to hear from Jackie, ever busy. Anne, I do hope this is the Real Spring for you and for the birds. Honey whines when she sees a dog out and about, she is usually friendly if the dog maintains its composure, lol. At the groomer, one very excited fuzzy medium sized freshly groomed dog of who knows what kind just about brought out Honey's bad side. Other than that, she has been a sweetie.
time to go
Phoebe0 -
I totally agree PHOEBE, after her bad start Honey is now one beautiful, sweet little girl. I'm getting excited because I hung up the new bird feeder and usually it takes time for the birds to trust it. However one very pretty male Cardinal is cautiously eying it from the safety of the apple tree branches and once one brave soul ventures to perch on it, it will become a feeding frenzy. I'm wondering if my Mark can fix the old feeder. He's the fixer in our little family.0

I am feeling much better So putting off the doctor call. I have an appointment the 16 of March so will just wait till then unless I get worst.
I had a message from Gayla yesterday. She told me she will try to find us again. I gave her our link So if the ones on facebook You might need to send her a hello if you care too. Se fell off of her porch but said no serious injury. Bruise pretty bad.
Marie0 -
Mr and Mrs Cardinal visit us here. Sweet to see them together. If your handyman/son can repair the other feeder, he might try using metal.
Cast iron sounds seriously squirrel proof!
Sun is out! Warming up! Windows open! Yay!0 -
we have a visitor last week too. I guess there will be little babies soon.
It has not started yet but look for it later That is rain and all week too.0 -
It is so worrisome when one of our sneaker family is ill. I have often thought that it feels exactly like when when a dear family member is ill. So I guess in truth, you are all dear family. To our sick sneakers...get well immediately! We need your greetings, opinions, news, photos, plans and activities. We all struggle with our various issues but concern for those dealing with serious health problems is scaring me.
Marie! Please! Please! Get to ER right now. Insist on getting some help.
Buzz! Take care of you! You'll never know how important you are to us all here. You are our fierce intellectual. Our political analyzer. Our driving force!
Sandy, please see a doctor ASAP about this flu. I think you also need to demand some aggressive health care. This stuff is serious. People are getting very sick. Pneumonia is a real possibility. I know I see a doctor when I am sick...maybe more than I should. BUT
It is their job to help you!
Rant over now! I think of you all daily. What special people you all are! I have such affection for the sneakers. I want us all healthy and involved in one of our funny sharing of pieces of our life...socks, PJs, pets, family and house plants, movies and books etc.

Guess what PHOEBE, both bird feeders ARE cast iron! Bought after earlier break ins. The little monkeys, er squirrels, broke the opening lid mechanism of the last one can you believe! It was advertised as squirrel proof! Zoo-ologists, if that's what they are called predict that when man finally becomes extinct, cockroaches will survive. My money is on squirrels with raccoons close behind! One has to admire them though, they are so beautiful and resourceful. You might guess the squirrels are now fighting each other in the apple tree after the poor Cardinal had proved it wasn't a trap! AND was driven off for his bravery.
Anne.
PS. The squirrels are now gone (probably for afternoon naps having eaten nearly all the feeder contents) BUT the cardinal is back for the leftovers. I'm so pleased. So really sorry to bore anybody who's read this far, but doesn't this world shattering news beat all the stuff about politics, migrants, and European referendums! Etc.0 -
Good morning friends
I was at a quilt retreat up in the mountains. My daughter came to and we met quilting friends from last year and had a great time. It rained every day but the nature of the lake, mountains, wildlife and the mess provided were wonderful.
I was so sore, my neck and back were really hurting so my DD and I went for a massage. It felt so good. We continued to sew and we took a walk.
Today I went to work out, swin and HOT TUB
Now I feel like a million bucks.
So sorry for our sick friends here, I hope you all are getting better. sounds like you all are welcoming spring with joy, me too.
Back to eating right. Take care

Just trying to post a little something I read in an email newsletter. True Jackie and Anne?
The Potato: A Notorious Nightshade
When elm leaves are as big as a shilling
Plant potatoes, if to plant them you're willing.
When elm leaves are as big as a penny,
You must plant potatoes if you mean to have any.

That's a new one on me LIN and I'm from northern England. Wish I could ask my dad, he always planted seeding potatoes every year, helped by Judy the dog who dug them up again when he wasn't looking in a game of fetch. When ready for eating and newly dug out of the ground I remember they tasted - well like heaven, but I don't recall the ditty! Anne.0

Get well wishes to Marie, Sandy, Gayla and anyone I missed who is ailing.
Today is Dave's birthday and we are going to the show after dinner tonight.
Have a good evening.
