    Hello Sneakers,

Anne, same weather here as you are having, rain, gray days and in few days the temperatures are
dropping a bit and we may have some snow showers. Never put the boots away until after
my birthday, first week in April. B)

Getting back to normal after the weekend away. Laundry is put away and so far a busy week of apts.

Diane - Nice to hear from you and drop in any time to catch up. :) I like to hear what's going with you. I see your hubby has a Fitbit, mine doesn't have one but he is
finally doing some exercise and walking everyday. I still use my Fitbit.

I made some chicken soup today and we tried a new restaurant for lunch today and tried some
tacos. Dave had a fish taco and I had a steak taco. They were small but delicious.

I had a chiropratic apt on my knee and it is doing much better. I still have to stretch it but no more
pain. One more apt. next week and that should do it.

Lin - thanks for the compliment, but my I think my daughter beats me in the gorgeous department. :)

Choir practice tonight, have a good evening.

Happy Tuesday! :) Just reminded myself it is garbage day. LOL Voted, bought some cards for my cousin's daughters, donated to the cancer society, went outside with Robby. Had a full day and now I am tired and hungry. Just wanted to check in and will try to get back tomorrow earlier before bingo.

Jasper is at the vet practice, George has been walked and I'm doing my best to keep busy until I get a phone call. Hopefully that won't come until around 2pm just to let me know when to pick me up otherwise if something nasty going on they'll call while he's under the anaesthetic rather than wake him before any decisions. Last night's meeting went well and a jolly group of our members turned up to volunteer for the committee which was a relief so now I just have to finish off a few bits of paperwork to hand over to the new secretary, a recently retired paramedic who has a wicked sense of humour, probably due to the sort of work experiences he had to deal with or maybe in spite of!!

Lin ~ You're absolutely right so sorry for sending you in the wrong direction for that BBC drama because it is called The Night Manager not Night Porter which I remember was a very dark movie with Dirk Bogarde! Hugh Laurie does evil brilliantly and the main character is rather delicious so good all round! When I got home from last night's meeting I had a choice at 9pm to watch either the last episode of another great drama called Happy Valley or a documentary Inside Obama's White House and decided on the latter. Well you couldn't make it up and I found it fascinating!! Now I'm trying desperately to miss any mention of how the drama finished because everyone is talking about it so I'm thinking I'll have to spend an hour this afternoon on our catch up tv!!

Lovely to read Diane's long post and good to learn you are finally getting some rain but let's hope not in extremes.

I've caught up with around 14 posts but feel I must now get seriously busy, do some washing up and then grab the vacuum cleaner for some noisy stress relief so I'll wish you all a good Wednesday...... I'm wearing my Wednesday socks to remind me what day of the week it is!!

Jackie, I hope you've heard about Jasper by now. Thanks for the update on the shows. Now I'll have to find out more about Happy Valley! And so glad you have your Wednesday socks on today. Sometimes when I wake up I need to think about it before knowing what day of the week it is.

    Buzz, how are you?

Sandy, good to hear from you and you sound as if you're feeling much better.

Shirley, glad to hear the knee is better.

Just listened to another webinar on cover crops. This one had to do with the economics and an actual real world study that's now underway. Interesting.

It is sunny and windy and I am quite tired today so have crossed out the seminar I had thought of attending this evening. Just going to rest up. Slept in this morning. I see a trend here. Ha.

    Take care.

    Hugs.

Tiredness must be in the air. On my Yoga days I get up at 7am and meditate for 20 mins then get
ready to go by the end of the week I am tried too. I like to get up at 8am.

I went to choir practice last night and it was a foggy, wet and drizzley night. We had a good practice,
but they are renovating the church so our entrance was at the side of the church and no bathrooms
available to us so we had to hold it for 2 hours. Too make a long story short, I was boxed in at my
parking space so I waited for 3 people behind my car to pass and didn 't see the car behind me and bumped it as I was trying to get out. The car next to me gave me no room to turn.
Anyway, at first I thought no I didn't hit that car, but when I got home and checked my car I had a scrape on my car. I emailed our director as soon as I got home and told her the situation. I asked to email
my email out to the rest of the group to see who's car it was. So far today I didn't get any response.
It's not that bad on my car and Dave can fix it, but I was pretty upset when I got home. My car is old
and I don't careabout it, but this was a newer car.

So much for my drama, have a good day.

Happy Wednesday!! :) Very windy today with gusts up to 50 mph. I am still going to venture out to bingo and hope I don't get blown away. I didn't sleep well last night so I took an hour nap during Robby's 2 1/2 hour nap.

Shirley, I like to sleep between 8:00 and 9:00 but have to get up at 6:30 when sitting. Of course I like to stay up late on days I don't sit, so going to bed earlier makes it difficult to fall asleep on some days. I love that you are so honest and I am a person who returns change if given too much, it is just the way I am.

Lin, I am feeling better but not completely well. Whatever this virus is/was it is a humdinger.
I wonder if we are more tired because of the time change. I hate that it is dark when I wake up, it makes me more tired.

Jackie, I do hope Jasper is home now and it was nothing serious. Daisy is still with a little diarrhea so Babe put her back on chicken and rice. She has the most sensitive stomach I have ever seen in a dog, but the vet says she is fine.

I want to catch up on some games before leaving so everyone else have a wonderful day.

LIN, I'm not sure how I am aside from tired! Lots of activity I hope I can explain once it's finished; visits to the VA with DH, where we got very conflicting insulin advice from endocrinologist. Nice lunch with dear cousins down from Cape Cod. Almost missed my favorite lecturer, but caught 15 minutes explaining election and world conflict. I want to hide somewhere till it's over!
Anyway, too late to read everyone tonight but perhaps tomorrow!

Sad news about Jasper I'm afraid because the x-ray showed what the vets thought to be a tumour on the leg bone which even if benign would be painful for him and only get worse including fractures so decision over the phone while he was still under anaesthetic was to put him to sleep because he's an older cat and I wouldn't put him through the trauma of amputation. We're all feeling very sad and 2 other cats not eating but am sure they'll settle in a day or so. Am now getting ready to meet a friend for a pub lunch as she travels through from London to the depths of Cornwall. The sun is shining and it's a glorious day which does lighten my heart a bit.

    Have a good day everyone.

So very sorry JACKIE about Jasper. It won't help of course, but I had to do exactly the same thing for my lovely, gentle, Labrador mix Jenny. Put her to sleep whilst under the anaesthetic for an exploratory operation.
Give the pets an extra hug today from me, and a big hug to you from me, Jasper will always be with you, they never really leave.

A happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I am up sort of creaking around this morning. We had a very cool but welcoming sun yesterday. Still dark out but we are susposed to have a sunny day again today. I will try to get my exercise in after I warm up a bit.

Jackie: so very sorry to hear about your dear cat. Having gone through the same issue with our sweet Mazzy, I can relate to your sad situation. I know cats have a wonderful independent nature but they do worm their way into your heart. All of us animal people share in your loss.

Lin: Hope you are feeling better. You are always caring for others...we all want to be at your side especially when you are suffering with this horrible crud that is epidemic in our area as well. Take good care of yourself.

Thinking about this winter and the odd weather. I am so ready for warmer and drier days. But I am grateful that California has water again. I remember a discription in one of those Persrl Buck books about wishing for something different. It is important to endure and enjoy the moment, things could be much worse. I still have a few very old copies of the Pesrl Buck books. I read them in high school and I loved the exotic tales of China. Well I am ready for my mug of hot water and lemon before my exercises.

I agree with Phoebe and Patsy. Good for you Jackie. You are a kind soul.

And I just want you lovely folks to know that I have chronic sinus and allergy issues. That's apparently all that is going on now. I have not picked up anything else. Thank you for your concern. Some days (and weeks) are better than others.

First, A Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone, and our corned beef and cabbage was terrific! What else????? Except I haven't really been keeping track of the date and I was the only in the dining room not wearing GREEN!!! It's the first year of my life I didn't dress for St Paddy, especially since coming from Boston!
JACKIE, huge hugs, and what can I say? Except that during his life, Jasper was so lucky to be YOUR baby!
I am deleting too many inches of gibberish due to falling asleep here at my keyboard. Have so many comments I'd love to make, but my leg medication just won't allow me to remain awake.
I also think reading the new "Terms" sent from Under Armor/MFP, put me in a permanent state of glaze! I'm rolling into bed before I fall asleep again!

It's me, the night owl again. I always think that I will turn over a new leaf and go to bed at a decent time. So far, that hasn't worked out for me.

Watching a new movie for St. Patrick's Day. It is called Brooklyn. So far it is a real charmer. Even John has stayed with it. It is a romance. Very Irish!

We are getting along toward spring now. John will be doing his first mowing. It takes a day or more to do it because there are sticks and limbs that came down during the storms. I will try to do a bit of outside clean up as well. The silly little peony that I planted last fall has doubled in size now. I thought the little guy had crooked. He is making a comeback.

I have 6 stretched canvases ready to go. I usually paint on very heavy handmade paper. Not sure if this will be fun or not. New technique, different platform, heavier paint. I am going to be bold and courageous. John advises to work with what I know, I get discouraged easily. I am painting a small portrait of Mazzy, to hang next to my art dungeon door. Heard from a dear artist friend who lives near the beach on Cortez island in BC. He has started making bone and horn carvings as well as handbags, backpacks and satchels. He was such a talented watercolorist. I am not sure how I feel about his change of creative medium. I will need to quiz him mercilessly about where he shows and what this all means!

Hello dear friends. Your caring and thoughtful messages have left me a little tearful but also confirm what I've been telling myself, not that I'm a wonderful person but that considering Jasper's nervous disposition and fear of his own shadow his home with me surrounded by fields and woods was ideal. George still looks for him because Jasper was his best friend but I did notice he seems to have transferred his chasing game to Hebe whether she wants to or not and that made me laugh as we walked up the garden first thing after opening the henhouse. Sandy your poem rings true, he won't be forgotten, ever, so yes, here's to Jasper.

Patsy ~ Please do let us have a sneak look at your latest works of art once you get started. It's never too late to try new techniques as your friend in BC is discovering..... whatever floats your boat as the saying goes!

Another glorious Spring day so I must get George out for his morning stroll before we go and visit friends who will pamper and spoil him while I'm having my hair cut at a local salon, not before time as I'm feeling weighed down by my thick mop.

Happy Friday to everyone. I'll do my best to remember to weigh in tomorrow.

    Jackie

Well, that delicious corned beef and cabbage dinner last night added 3 pounds to my scale this morning, which is so discouraging that we went downstairs for breakfast in our Bistro since Friday morning they make fresh yummy Belgian Waffles! Tender wonderful and worth another pound or two. Am I my own worst enemy or what? Yes PATSY, along with JACKIE, I want to see your new future paintings on canvas. Do you use acrylics? From experience, I can assure you that working in different media can be very exciting! While my Dad and sister painted, I preferred silversmithing, and just loved pounding away on sheets of silver using hammers and anvils I had to make because there was almost nothing available to buy back in the late 1940s! Today there are so many available supplies and magazines and catalogs I have fun just looking and imagining! Your friend might inspire you to spread your wings, too! While John has reason to suggest you stay with what you know, it also may hamper growth, so put aside your fears and simply soar!
SHIRLEY, bravo, dear ethical friend! You may not have caused so much as a ding, but seeking the one you may have bumped allows you to look in the mirror without wincing! By the way, your new avatar is great!
SANDY, what great information about shows. I missed that documentary re: The White House. Do you recall what show produced it? I mean like PBS, CBS or NBC? I just read a satire on how the Donald would be as President, and it had Melania repainting everything in the White House in gold leaf, while the Trumps moved temporarily to the Presidents' Suite in a Trump Hotel. They were paying for the redecoration out of their own pockets!!!
LIN, PHOEBE and SANDY, I hope you will all finally rid yourselves of those nasty lingering symptoms and enjoy the springlike fresh air following!
I'm about to try to convince DH to go to the ear clinic and bring his almost unused hearing aids to the point where he'll wear them! He says they keep falling out, and that's no fun!

Happy Friday!! :) Spring Break won't officially start until after tomorrow afternoon. I am watching Robby from 10 - 2 tomorrow so they can look at houses. That will be his nap time so it should be easy peasy. Bryanna came to see him before he goes to Florida since she is working all weekend so we woke him up a little early because she had to leave to go to work.
Babe has plans to take me to the movies, lunch, and dinner all next week. Finally I am celebrating my birthday.

Buzz, I think you meant either Jackie or Anne for the TV documentary about the White House.
And although a satire it would probably be true about the Trumps. I am feeling better, but still a nagging little cough.

Jackie, losing our furry kids is so hard but when we are the best parents they could imagine, it makes it all worth while. This from the internet from a little boy says it all.
    jhz86ruw0k2t.jpg

Patsy, how wonderful that you can paint a portrait of Mazzy, what a great remembrance. I took a clay print of Daisy's paw so that I will always have a part of her with me. Just a sentimental old fool I am.

Lin, I am glad you didn't get the worse of the Church peoples illness, but sinus and allergy issues are also terrible. I am still congested and can't seem to shake it, hoping the rest next week will be the key.

    Have a great Friday night.

Good evening - just stopping by to say hello and wish everyone well. I took quite a bit of time this morning doing my shopping at Trader Joe's and ended up with more than I had planned on but that included a number of greeting cards (try to keep stocked up to send out to my little list of folks), and some indulgences including purple tulips and some daffodils. Also got some candy for my friend at church.

I am meeting some friends tomorrow morning. I will have tea and they'll have breakfast. Some snow in the forecast so I hope the roads are okay.

And my goodness, Palm Sunday already and the first day of spring. How time flies.

Oh Jackie, I found Happy Valley on Netflix. My goodness, so NOT happy and very brutal isn't it. I am on Season 2 now. It is interesting that so many of the actors have been in other shows. The lead from Grantchester is certainly totally different in this series.

    Wishing everyone well this weekend.

    Hugs.

A grey and cold morning but we still managed an enjoyable stroll across what has become a chilly moorland again. Scruff and my friend are back with us although we have to watch she and George don't get too carried away with their boxing games! This afternoon I plan to cosy up on the sofa and watch rugby with fingers crossed for England to beat France! My hair is cut and so much tidier and I enjoyed a few cups of tea with my friends who entertained George in my absence and we managed to put the world to rights!!

Lin ~ When I began to watch series 1 of Happy Valley I thought it was going to be a comedy because it's set in the part of England that Anne comes from and their humour always makes me laugh. Well, as you say brutal and a shock to my system although I couldn't wait for each episode but found Series 2 even more watchable because its psychologically gripping and every time I thought I knew what was going to happen it didn't!! As you say, not a happy valley but that's British ironic humour for you!!
Also it took me halfway through series 1 to realise the actor was Grantchester's lead because he doesn't even look the same physically and in series 2 the timid little man downstairs in Downton who became a teacher is just brilliant as the detective caught up in his own nightmare.

Buzz ~ Corned beef and cabbage.... that must mean sodium is going to be in there somewhere so shouldn't be too difficult to shake off. At the pub the other day meeting my friend for lunch I had a ploughman's with stilton cheese because it's something I keep out of the fridge at home otherwise I'd be nibbling all the time, goodness what a huge slab of cheese but I managed to finish it along with warmed bread rolls, pickles and a side salad. I didn't get on the scales this week after all!! Trump's popularity is certainly an enigma but some of you must feel the country has slipped back 50 years!! Perhaps a gold painted White House will cheer everyone up!! The Obama series is made by our BBC but I've no doubt it will appear on your screens soon. Hopefully you can read the article in this link which will give you an idea of its content.... just enthralling!!
    http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2016-03-15/inside-obamas-white-house--what-is-life-really-like-as-president-of-the-united-states

Sandy ~ Pets that find us are always with us to teach us so much and even Jasper with his funny nervous ways taught me patience and quiet when he was in the same room! The story you posted is certainly poignant but as ever children in their innocence seem to know best! All those plans Babe has made to celebrate your birthday must mean he too is feeling better than he was a few weeks ago so that's great..... have a wonderful week.

Oh dear, even with a heater on in this room I'm becoming chilled and sneezy so will make myself a bowl of hot soup with smoked salmon sandwich while the coal fire gets going.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

And our winter cold is back as well, although it's gloriously sunny outside! However, the geraniums I keep harping on about, much to my amazement have FLOWER BUDS on them. Talk about little things making one rapturously happy!
I must try and find that series JACKIE however dark, if it's set in the part of the world I come from. Oh dear, I hope it doesn't put anyone off dear old Yorkshire! I've been watching something named Damages. I can't believe all the lies and corruption it illustrates! Are people THAT bad! In real life I mean!
I had, is it called an epithany, this morning. I woke up after a not exactly nightmare, but a disturbing dream about a not so nice part of my past. At first I lay there pretty shook up, but then the reality of today came flooding back and I began to count the blessings I now enjoy. Such a lot, I lost count, and something to give thanks for with Palm Sunday and Spring announcing new beginnings tomorrow. Maybe that's what the dream was all about, a wake up call to give thanks for today!
And I must away. Finally I can dust off the old shopping cart and toddle off. Michael had a dentists appointment on his day off so couldn't make it to prop dear old Mom up yesterday. I couldn't believe how many of the lady cashiers asked where he was! He's certainly made his mark!
    Happy Saturday, Anne.

Happy Saturday!! :) I got to sleep in, started the laundry and Robby will be coming at ten. Babe and I will be going to Mass, a long one with the Passion of Our Lord and then out to dinner. Life is good.

Anne, I think it is wonderful that your geraniums made it through winter. I have always wanted to try that when in the house but was afraid of bugs. Was that a problem?? Too bad Micheal couldn't take you grocery shopping, it sounds like he is eye candy to the cashiers. lol

Jackie, yes Babe is on the mend as well, the shot they gave him in his head seems to be helping with the headache and dizziness. Stay warm by your cozy fire, someday it will get warm again, at least I hope so.

Lin, I hope you are feeling better and can enjoy your time with friends. Bite your tongue about that snow, we need warm healing weather.

Marie, how is everything with you? Did you get any doctor's reports? How is your back and hip?

    Have a wonderful Saturday!!

No problem with bugs in the geraniums SANDY, so have a go next fall! No, Michael will tell you himself he isn't eye candy (younger son IS, and looks 20 years younger than his age of 51) but what Mike HAS got is charisma and the gift of the gab. I'm always amused how the ladies flirt with him and since Cinders arrival it's gotten worse! Luckily he's very happy with his life! and seems blissfully unaware of what I see as an observer, lol.
Loved the photo JACKIE, must have posted at the same time, I've just spotted it!

Couldn't resist, here's me in my forties with my very favourite dog ever. My lovely, gentle Jenny. Praying it doesn't come out huge. How do you make an old photo small? I hope everyone else will post photos of past times and never to be forgotten beloved pets.
