Happy Sunday! :) Lin's news has taken some of the happy out of it, it always breaks my heart when a child is involved in anything sad.

Just wanted to drop in and say have a good day, the best you can.

No!!!! It is a dedication to raise the baby in the way of the Lord. The parents, grandparents, God parents and the congregation all participate. I sighed as the little one was so beautiful and quiet and the ceremony was just lovely. Got a lump in my throat. <3

    All is well. Be happy!!

Happy Monday! :) Sheets are in the washer and this afternoon I am going for a bone scan. Just a routine checkup that I get done every three years. I am having Tiffini come after work to trim the top of my hair, it is a little too long for what I want it to do. Hope I am not sorry as I am going out for dinner with friends tomorrow night. Another nice day but I don't think I will get that mile and a half walk in like I did yesterday. I could not sleep last night and the last time I looked at my clock it was 3 A,M, Babe said he thinks it is because I am exercising too much but I find that hard to believe. That last pound is being so stubborn!!!!!

Lin, again I am so sorry for misunderstanding your comment. The service sounds like it was beautiful. Can I blame it on old age???

Marie, good thing the moms of all of those kids were there to take care of their own kids. Even though it was a Saturday, my son went to work to get out of the chaos. lol

    Have a good day!

Hello, I am taking a break. I am deep in paperwork today. Must get everything ready to send to my accountant in advance of my appointment later this month. My target is tomorrow to get to the Post Office. So sorting, hunting, copying, shredding, and in the midst of this my printer has decided to go offline for no apparent reason. Ha.

A few business phone calls to make, someone is hunting for my ex-hubby again so it is apparently unsafe to answer the phone once again.

A few household chores in among the zipping about to add to the mix.

And Sandy I had to do laundry the other day as I was running out of clean undies. A necessity of life.

I hope you like your haircut Sandy. I know, it goes from too long to too short sometimes. I am to the point of not caring that much. But then I do not go out so it is not an issue.

Buzz, I hope you are getting some rest. Thinking of you my friend.

Marie, how are you and Jerry and Missy doing today?? Thinking of you as well.

Marcella, I wish I had my paperwork as organized as yours! I am climbing my mountain bit by bit.

Jackie, is your weather okay? I have been thinking about your bees and the chickens and hoping they are all doing okay. I really do not know how creatures cope with all the variability in weather conditions. Hi George!!

Anne, did you get all your shopping done? Including all provisions for Jilly?? I was thinking of you earlier this morning as I made a nice mug of hot tea. Yummm.

Time to get back to proof-reading my numbers and then start putting together my cover letter.

They say it may storm later and tonight is the evening for putting out the trash. Yipes! The wind is already around 40 MPH and temps up to 70 degrees = the formula for storms. So I should also hustle so I can shut off my computer and printer later.

    Wishing everyone well today.

    Hugs.

    Lin

Yes LIN Michael showed up still looking a bit seedy with a sore throat but hopefully not infectious.

Well we grocery shopped for me and more importantly treats bought for her, the Bean, plus a hilarious looking toy mallard duck with huge yellow feet that makes a satisfying honking sound when pressed (this was because this Jilly kid might be small but she has systematically got through all of her toys and was reduced to Michael's old socks. We should have named her the terminator) Michael took his seedy self home because he was scared of infecting dear old Mom, and even worse, in the process of doing so, having to look after Jilly the Terminator. Mark and Mary Jo didn't show up for once, because both their work is with taxes, busy time for them, but for different firms. It appears that March is really spoilt with all this tax stuff for most of us!

My day has consisted of washing sheets, duvet cover, Jilly's blankie etc and I've just finished cooking Jill's next batch of chicken stew. Who said retirement was for putting ones feet up and eating chocolates! IF you could afford chocolates on today's shrinking pension!

My hair SANDY, like little Topsy, continues to grow. Does anyone remember the childhood books about little Topsy who grew and grew? Mmm, thought not.

I will away and make a cup of tea, now that the cupboards and fridge are full again since the late shop.
    Anne.

My busy day started at 6:30, with the compression leg treatment boots, then breakfast followed by an interesting meeting and next volunteer time at the welcome desk in our main lobby. Several residents stopped by to ask me about problems they are going through with extremely ill spouses, and I have become really grateful Mike had a relatively short period of unhappiness! After dinner, I attended a showing of Sweet Charity. I usually love Shirley MacLaine and Bob Fosse's choreography but this movie actually put me to sleep. Since everyone else loved it, I was a minority of one who felt it was icky sweet and did not use talent properly at all. A waste for me! I simply never connected with the cast! OK, so now here I am, and my mind has gone blank. Guess I need sleep and I will get to bed immediately. Good news is I was dow 2 pounds this morning! Now I must check what happened to yesterday's post. My computer needs a new modem, which is coming tomorrow!
did get to read everyone's posts, but can't think straight right now!

    Hi All,

I've been busy doing genealogy and that has engrossed me completely. Doing that and then having to walk for over an hour to get in my 10,000 steps. That's what happens when you spend most of the day sitting at your computer.

Driving MaryJo to kindergarten tomorrow and stopping at our cable provider to try to sort out what channels we want etc. Time to look st this whole matter again.

Sandy - those last lbs are so hard to get rid of. I'm lucky to lose a half pound a week, more like every two weeks. That is why I am so faithful with my exercise. We did go out for supper tonight and I had a glass of wine. Felt like a nice treat.

Marie - sounds great about your feet.

Buzz - congrats on the 2 lbs. The comment you made about Mike was so true too. I think we all pray we don't get sick and have lingering severe health problems that affect both us and our spouses.

Anne - hopefully Michael kept his germs to himself. I'm having a nice cup of tea right now. A source of relaxation for me.

Lin - I've really been admiring your cards. Well done.

    Good night all

    Jeri

I'm having a cuppa as well JERI. Jilly is almost back to normal and is sitting on the sofa, playing with her duck and honking every so often. The duck, not her. So far no signs of me becoming infected from the seedy looking Mike.
I was going to read the BBC news with my cuppa, but it's so full of bad news I decided to bug you all instead as I sip my tea. Ignorance is bliss.
No news whatsoever except to say it's foggy outside and 46F.
    How's that for b-o-r-I-n-g!

After what's now becoming a regular walk in the local woods due to rain and more rain I stopped off at my neighbour to see how she's doing. Finally after more than a year she's had a visit from a physio and been left some leg exercises to do in the hope she will one day get back on her feet. While I was there a local friend dropped in and they reminisced about how things were in the village 50 years ago, a subject that always fascinates me because I love social history. Yesterday I spent a few hours on the top moor at my friend's property that helps with any vehicle problems because someone had side-swiped my car while parked at a supermarket, caved in a rear door and knocked off the trim. The roads were flooded but I still enjoyed driving there because the scenery is stunning and I always get a warm welcome. Several cups of tea later the dent was pulled out with one of those suction tools and the trim back on.

Lin ~ My chickens are managing during this awful spell of weather although they spend most of their time in the extra shelter that's in the run. They have a perch to sit on as they pass the time of day preening and putting the world to rights! On Saturday I checked the state of my bees food supplies and just in time replaced the now empty containers with a full one which will hopefully see them through to some dry warm days when they can forage although at the moment apart from gorse and Mahonia flowers there's not much else out at the moment.

Jeri ~ Occasionally I get back to researching the residents of my old cottage 150 years ago so know just how easy it is to lose a day! Listening to my neighbour and her friend this morning a couple of names cropped up that relate to my cottage which had me thinking I must continue but not today!

Buzz ~ Goodness, I remember seeing Sweet Charity a lifetime ago and have to agree it was a rather icky sweet movie even for its time. A couple of nights ago I came upon the movie Papillon with Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman being shown on tv which I'd watched in the early 70's and although slightly dated still engrossed me until well past midnight.... of course a different subject matter altogether!!

Marie ~ Hooray, a doctor who understands you and what your body requires and I'm so pleased you've been able to embrace the concept because you appear more positive than in a long time.

Anne ~ It was a Monday wash day for me too as I did my best to keep up with George's daily muddy towels.... 3 drying on the airer and already 2 more waiting for a wash!!

Sandy ~ It's only a pound and if you pick something up that weighs the same you'll see how little it is so try not to fixate on it otherwise it'll drive you barmy!! Generally I find exercise is the best thing for a good night's rest although I'm sure Babe must have reasons for his belief. It's more likely your brain racing over something than your body and if it happens to me I get up and wander for a few minutes to break the threads of thought!

Talking of getting up, I'd best get on with an early lunch because I've housework to do and more preparation for the painting of my kitchen walls. We've moved our usual Tuesday swim to Friday this week which is a relief for me as I find combining it with yoga and 2 dog walks is what we call knackering!!

Good morning - it was a stormy evening here. Oh my---I thought the house would blow away. Now it is time to put the trash out but the wind is blowing and my recycling bin is quite full. I wonder how to keep the contents IN the bin since the lid blows open immediately

Good to hear from you Buzz. I hope you get the modem swapped out with no trouble. And congrats on the two pound loss. Good for you. And I think we all hope to pass quickly without suffering which is not only hard on the person but all loved ones. As to the movie, I am sorry you didn't enjoy it but we do not all, like the same things. I find it depends on my mood and often I do not care for a movie that others tell me is a must-see. I hope you got some rest last night.

Jeri, I totally agree!!! Trying to get in enough steps each day can take a lot of time. No, I should have said it does take a lot of time. I hope you are learning very interesting things about your ancestors. That is a great pursuit.

Anne, I watch local news. This morning it is all weather related and all the tornados and damage etc. Frightening information but in a different way from war and politics. Thumbs up on staying well. More tea my friend. I keep hearing green tea is good for everything that may ail us.

Sandy, your birthday is coming up soon. What are your plans? Lots of family time? Casino trip? Something completely different?

Today is Mah Jongg and book club tonight. Lots of errands to fit in as well. I am ready for that trip to the Post Office. Yippee. All went according to schedule yesterday afternoon and even got the printer working. That made me very happy.

    Time to move it.

    Hugs.

Good day Jackie, your post didn't appear until after I refreshed the page! Busy times for you. I am sorry about your car. Lots of scrapes and little dings on mine but nothing bad enough to warrant fixing. I am glad you enjoyed the drive. And thanks for the update on the chicks and the bees. Thank goodness you are vigilant and got the bees some provisions to sustain them. Now we need some nice weather!!

Glad your swim schedule has been changed. Sometimes there is just an overload of things to do even if they are all enjoyable. Now painting the walls does not sound appealing. But I am terrible when it comes to painting. :p

Me too! I beat you to it JACKIE for once sitting here twiddling my thumbs and sipping my tea. Great news that you got the car fixed and I would have enjoyed listening to the reminiscing as well! Like you I have 2 or 3 towels waiting to go into the wash but the end is in sight apart from hand towels for muddy feet when we resume our long morning walks. The fogs gone but it's raining. Quite warm, but by Thursday we plunge again.

Don't get blown off your feet LIN when you bring those empty bins back inside. I've never experienced an actual tornado just gales. How frightening they must be!

Just been listening to a story on the radio about a guy who shot a deer, fashioned false teeth from the deer, and then ate the deer. The chap on the radio said it was a true story and you can google it! He Certainly saved a lot of money at the grocery store and dentists, shudder.

To think my day started boring!!!

Thought Jill's duck might make you all smile on a dull rainy day. Note chewed beak after he's been with us only 2 days, sigh. I'll never be rich!
Whoooo, he came out BIG. Any way to cut size down!

ANNE, SANDY gave me information about cutting down the size of my photo a few days back, but I think it's more trouble than it's worth for us semi-literates!!! He's a cutey anyway!
JACKIE, the bees will be buzzing before you realize. I turned my clocks forward by mistake last weekend, so forgetting some clocks are now fast, I got to dinner an hour early last night!
I'll see if I can get Papillon, which I vaguely recall.wasn't it about a famous man imprisoned somewhere on an island without human contact? I should remember it better, but my brain has computer overload (sounds better than dementia!)
LIN, I surely hope your house does NOT blow away, as the TV is showing happened in many places last night! Keep carefully well. And yes, recalling how much caregiving you gave your dear Dad, despite verbal abuse, I agree with you and me! An exhausted caregiver is not a good thing!
Oh, Comcast ts at my door. See ya later!

Happy Tuesday!! :) Dinner tonight with friends to celebrate my big "75" birthday. I will be going to Rob and Lisa's on my actual birthday which is Friday. So when I was at church I told my pastor that it was my birthday on Friday so could I eat meat that day? Guess what he said.
No, you can manage just fine without it. Sure glad I didn't have a big party with lots of guests.
Since Rob and Lisa are also Catholic and dieting we are fine with no meat.

Buzz, at least you weren't late for dinner. :p Spring ahead on Saturday, another lost hour of sleep for those who have to get up at a certain time, not me!!!! Congratulations on the 2 pound loss, you are doing so good.

Anne, Jilly's duck is cute and with her biting the nose she must love it. The only way to make the picture smaller is through your own picture program. If you are sending the picture to your computer from your phone then it usually asks what size, I choose medium. Make any sense? You are saying the guy made false teeth for himself from the deer? The guy sounds like an idiot and how anyone can eat a beautiful deer is beyond me. Just my opinion.

Lin, we also had those high winds and living on the second floor it sounds much louder. The sun is shining brightly but it is still windy. In addition to the plans I wrote about the same friends and I will go to Four Winds Casino at the end of the month for two days. It is sort of a ritual for our birthdays although we used to go only once a year now we have decided to go twice. Two of us celebrate our birthdays in March and the other two October and November.
Have fun at Mah Jongg and book club, I know you love them both.

Jackie, low and behold today's scale showed that wishful number 129.8!! Very exciting although will probably be short lived after tonight's dinner. I will ride the bike this afternoon to try to gain some extra calories but still will enjoy my dinner.

Jeri, you have so many talents and keep yourself really busy. You are working hard on those steps and it is working for you, congratulations! By the way, I took your advice about listening to a audio book and it worked, I fell asleep. The only problem is I have to go back to listen to what I missed the next night. lol

Marie, good job on the skinny legs, salt is not your friend. I am glad you found a doctor you like and has helped you, keep up the good work.

I had to cancel my haircut yesterday but I think I am starting to like it the way it is.
    Have a wonderful day!!

    Sandy
