Well, the previous doctor insists she only saw me ONCE. Despite seeing me, sending me off for tests and then, on a second visit prescribing "the drug". They have lost my records despite me being with a very nice doctor for a number of years previous to this one who was newly out of college at the time.
She suggests I go back to the pharmacy, who of course lost all THEIR records of patients when their computer went down.
So I guess it's back to square one with the New Zealand doc and trial and error. I have noted PATSY and BUZZES BP drugs to show him.
Of course at this point I feel like telling them all to go to Hades. Well not the new doc, he's doing his best for me. When it comes to medics over here, to quote an old song, "if it wasnt for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all" as she surveys her deformed right wrist!
Anne, pressing on.

Happy Thursday! Meeting today and a big win at bingo again! $560!!!! Woot Hoot!!
Buzz, I tried to research on google but I need to know what kind of IPhone you have. When I read an email on my IPhone XR it deletes from my computer. If I read it on my computer it deletes from my IPhone. They have different explanations on google if you want to check. What mail server do you use? I use gmail.
Lin, we are also supposed to have storms today but I hope they wait until I get home from my meeting.
Anne and Patsy, yikes such bothersome critters, I hope they stay out of Ewok's yard or they will be sorry.
I have to get moving, have a great day.

Wonders ! The old doctors office has found my medical record file. Great news but I'm to be charged $40 for it to be sent on to my new Doctors. All that fuss about me never being there! My memory ain't that bad.
Making bread. I needed something to work off the steam!
Anne.1 -
Hope your bread is not beaten to death Anne. Very frustrating situation and the charge is not good but at least the records are found. I have been threatened with fees in the past when my dad was changing doctors. Time and copying charges etc. Just glad you will be done with them and dishy doc can now work with you without flying blind (so to speak).
We (former library ladies) had a lovely chatting time this morning. Very enjoyable. I am to meet a lady later on, says she wants a purse I have listed. We will see. We will see.
Getting a haircut tomorrow morning. Hope to get to Trader Joe’s before the trim. Not looking forward to the continual half nasty conversation of this guy. He can cut my hair, he doesn’t charge too much. Must breathe deeply and blow off the irritation.
Oh and Sandy, wow, another big win!!! Astounding.
Back to my tiny chores.
Hugs.

Another post lost! I'm still working on eliminating 15,000 emails (the number wet up as I was deleting hem!) No wonder my cell battery needs recharging so quickly!
SANDY, I tried everything on Google, but the Dell tech tells me to call Comcast, my server. Here we go again.
The thunder keeps rumbling and reminding us a hurricane is threatening! The low air pressure is doing a number on my joints and muscles ! And we heard the Clambake may have to be postponed. I hope it turns and just goes north in the Atlantic!
Keep your posts coming! They are so entertaining and warm and wonderful and right now I'm an old grump! I hate cell phones!!!!!

Buzz, if you open the inbox on your email on your phone you can hit edit and then hit delete all. Might delete them from your computer as well it depends how you set up your email on the phone. It would probably be best to call the Apple store for help or go in with your phone in person.0

Buzz: just heard on the news that things are getting very dicey concerning that weather coming your way. We have suffered only a cat.1 and many severe winter wind storms. That said, I guess it doesn’t need repeating but here goes....DO EVERYTHING to stay safe. Fill bathtub with water for an extra supply. Fill pots and pans and plastic containers with water for extra supply. Meds! Evacuate if you could. Visit your family elsewhere. Seriously! These storms are so scary. I know you have been through them before and know more than I do about them. Energy bars and a radio! Okay! I’ll stop raving but in truth, we all worry about each other. Including Anne as she hunts for the right BP med and Lin for pain relief for her ankle and Jackie and her hip replacements and Sandy for her foot fracture.
Stay safe! Keep your head above water.
Patsy2 -
And so say all of us !!! Thinking of you BUZZ and keeping an eye on the weather channel.
Meanwhile back here I've calmed down, well I wasn't THAT uncalm, but you've no idea how frustrating it is to see your new doctor peering at his computer saying "they say you've never been their patient". Then me to phone them three times and have them say "we've never had you as a patient". Finally a phone call yesterday from a man saying they've found the records and are sending them to the new doctor! Talk about "let's hope she (me) goes away." I tell you if I hadn't high blood pressure before I would have now!
The good news is, the bread turned out great!
So now, apart from me having to cough up $40 for the med records our big worry is BUZZ. These storms are getting fiercer.
Sunny and 73 degrees here and it's grocery delivery day.
Anne.0 -
By the way, I'm getting normal readings on the BP home machine. Good job I didn't rely on it! The dishy doc wants me to take it on next appointment. I can't imagine his machine is faulty! Anne.0
-
Maybe dishy doc is making your blood pressure high Anne . Just walking into the office makes me hit the roof. Best wishes my friend.
Buzz, I am following the weather quite closely now. Praying all will be well. Love you. ❤️❤️
I am off for a trip to Trader Joe’s, a free cup of coffee at Starbucks, a haircut, a stop at Whole Foods and maybe Penzey’s for some spices.
Meanwhile it just clouded over again. Watching Florida but not Iowa.
Hugs my friends.

Well, my groceries turned up but without Dorio this time. A very nice white haired grandfatherly chap, again from the islands, who said he was helping out because the grocery delivery was very busy because of the labour day weekend. Jilly didn't mind no Dorio, she did her best to get him to chase her around the coffee table instead. I was puffing a bit having dragged the garbage bins down the drive, and he asked why (s-l-o-w down girl) and when I said maybe high blood pressure, he brought out HIS BP pill bottle to show me. Is everyone on high blood pressure pills these days?
Anne.0 -
Happy Friday! It is a beautiful day here in Schaumburg but I too am watching the weather not only for Buzz but for my daughter who lives in Jacksonville. They had plans to go away for the weekend to the panhandle but cancelled due to Dorian. She said they should be fine with just probably lots of rain but as a mother I worry. Hurricanes are so scary.
I am going later with Lisa for a retake of pictures and then suggested we take the kids to Chuck E Cheese which is a kids place with lots of games and a little show with characters.
My kids used to love it and the last time I took Robby he was too young.
Anne, as of now I am not on high blood pressure meds but then I only go for my checkup once a year. My blood pressure is sometimes a little high from being nervous so I ask them to do it on both arms. My dental hygienist also takes my blood pressure before cleaning my teeth and it is always normal.
Lin, busy day for you, glad the weather is cooperating.
Buzz, I am sure your building is prepared for hurricanes but please be safe.
Patsy, the worst we have here is tornados which scare me just as much as hurricanes.
Have a good day.
Sandy

Hello Sneakers. I'm home a day later than planned as so much happened I can't begin to tell any of it right now except the nightmare drive to London on Wednesday took 10 hours due to a RTA ahead of me just 40 minutes into the journey that meant no movement for over 4 hours. The drive home today wasn't much better and yesterday's house clearance and form filling would have defeated me if my dear school friend hadn't joined me in the afternoon to help sort through everything. 3 days of my life best forgotten! 😤😤
I must feed pets and myself but add I know nothing of Buzz's hurricane but send my wish for you to remain safe any way necessary.❤
I've caught up on all your posts and feel I'm back amongst sane friends... enough said!

Sleepless night so I will need a nap later. I feel okay but I had arthritis pain in my feet all night. Oh baby! That is no fun.
Cloudy today and mild temps. I will keep an eye on the big storm. It is very still out this morning . Not a breath of air. We usually have sea breezes even on warm days.
I will Fix John a special Labor Day picnic but since he is still repairing the deck, it might be at the dinning room table. Isn’t it funny how all the fast food places are now pushing veggie burgers? They will find a way to make them unhealthy, none the less.
I guess I will get a couple of things done before I collapse in a stupor for a nap. I hate being such a fragile ninny! But Anne, I will say that everyone does seem to be on bP pills. You remember that people used to drop like flies from strokes and heart attacks. Now people live much longer due to better info and meds to lower BP. There is that group of people who are naturally Hyper and need help with meds. John is like that. He is OCD and tends to want to solve every problem immediately!
Be safe everyone and keep an eye on that storm. Not sure how we could help but it feels like we should try to keep in touch with friends in harms way.
Patsy0 -
SANDY, perhaps I should try doing the deleting from my computer, where I can delete a bunch at one time. I'm retired, right? I wish the programs could be standardized!
My oxygen company is coming around with a 3-day battery driven tank for me, just in case. DO you think my administrators ordered this storm to get out of the Labor Day Clambake? WOW, I feel the low pressure in every bone and joint yesterday and today! Grouch, grouch, grouch! I hate being like this... and here in the middle of the day, I'm sleepy

OK, I've lost today's first 2 posts and seem to have lost control of my sanity. So happy to have JACKIE back and I have caught up reading all your posts and am becoming too frustrated with the erratic behavior of m WiFi! A tank of oxygen was delivered tonight that is actually taller than I am! I promise to stay away from windows and remain indoors during the storm, which is about the fierceness of Hurricane Andrew! The place is very solid and I'll do my best to stay in touch, but I recall after Hurricane Wilma, I had no electricity, phone, or internet for 21 days! Of course I also did not have the generators we have here! Just know this place is taking fantastic steps to take care of us! And a type of camaraderie seems to be forming that is beautiful to see. (It is crossing Political affiliations!). I think I may be able to use the
corridor outlets to recharge my cell but if the WiFi is not available, I'm not sure I can use the iPhone! We'll be fed 3 meals a day, and medical staff will be on hand 24/7! This is to assure you, DO NOT WORRY! Now, before I fall asleep right here, I will get to bed right now!

Happy Saturday! Pictures turned out great and the manager cooperated by taking back the first CD and took all new pictures.
Then we went to Chuck E Cheese and the kids had so much fun.
I am hoping to go to pool today, just hope it warms up a bit more although the sun should be warm. Today is Babe's 80th Birthday but no celebrating with me. I think they are making him a fancy lunch or something before they get on with their day. He said he was up all night using the facilities if you know what I mean. TMI! lol
Buzz, that was some long pause you took with your post, I thought I lost everything on MFP.
I am glad your place takes all the precautions and let's pray Dorian takes a different turn or dies down before tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone.
Sandy

Hello and happy Saturday. High clouds but no rain and mild temps. A good day to get some chores done. John is working on the deck again. This is the project that will never go away.
I am doing something that is sooooooo funny. I ordered some new wooden hangers from Amazon. So I will be replacing flimsy plastic and wire hangers in my closet. This is no small job. It might be a good time to go through and get a box of stuff ready for Goodwill. A job I find boring and I always promise myself I will do .....someday. Today is the day.
Our son had to fly to San Francisco to help his friend negotiate connecting flight back to Portland. Not so easy with no English skills and not able to read or understand signs. When she visited her family here in the past, she landed in Texas. Signs are also in Spanish there. SF does not. Also the political climate in the US has changed as we know.
The big storm is acting like it might just skirt the US eastern coast. I am hoping that it will just drift off and dissolve. I think people could deal with some heavy rain and a small amount of flooding. No huge winds, huge rains and king tides and major damage. I hope everyone stays safe. Scary stuff.
Labor Day always has a special significance here. Back in the day, ships were unloaded or loaded up here. Astoria was a major port. The longshoreman union started here. Tales of men lifting huge bales and boxes to unload the ships are part of the history of Astoria; Ship loads of Fur, limber, and fish were loaded here. It is good to remember when and how this all started.

Busy day here. Lots of laundry, met a guy to sell my dad’s old movie camera and then lots and lots of cooking and food prep. Still haven’t finished so more either tomorrow or Monday. I plan on a super wonderful meal on Monday. An ear of fresh sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, multi colored fingerling potatoes with fresh mushroom gravy and watermelon. Sounds like 4th of July food but it just sort of came together. I’ve not had any fresh corn this year. Looking forward to it.
I read a book, returned a few to the library and picked up a new stack of reading material.
Tomorrow is church day and I have my check stuck in my Bible and have the communion supplies ready to grab. I am on the list to SERVE communion and take offering for the month of September. Yes, still prepping and cleaning up communion this month as well. If they have enough help I will not be volunteering for the extra duty. Haaaaaa.
Stay safe Buzz.
Sandy, better photos this time. Wonderful. Sorry about Babe’s birthday. Life is complicated.
Jackie, welcome home. Sorry you had such a difficult time.
Anne, I hope Jilly kept you entertained today.
Hugs.

I think we are expecting a hit on Tuesday and the last report I heard had Dorian arriving at Vero Beach, which is about 40 or so miles north of here. I hope.........I started this yesterday and can't remember why I left in the middle of a post. But things are happening lately that seem so hectic! Storms coming up suddenly ad unexpectedly with thunder like I've never heard! And my wheelchair stopped charging (battery) and I looked things up in the book and all the information was very troublesome and it looked like more than a dead battery and the signal was illegible so I kept hitting the on/off button so I could grab a quick look at the LCD window and all of a sudden, the charge light stayed on! I hope whatever it was is working now, because holidays and hurricanes don't usually bring help quickly!
SANDY, the pictures are just beautiful. And I'm thinking you are not the loser with all that has happened with you and Babe! He literally threw away a wonderful life with his "choices", or rather his children's selfish choices to which he could not stand up! You have really learned to make the most of life!
PATSY, I hear ya! Labor Day is one holiday that truly celebrates the backbone of this country, and I hold my breath hoping it does not get destroyed! (The backbone, that is!)
LIN, you have the usual busy weekend with all your volunteering. I hope it gives you the pleasure you give to others!
JACKIE, am I missing a post from you? I'm anxious to hear how everything went for you!
We appear to be escaping the brunt of the eye of Dorian, but with hurricanes, one can never be certain until they are well gone! I have been in storms that were headed elsewhere until they took a sudden turn and ended up overhead! Last year, they all veered up the Atlantic and on even ended up in the UK! This one has slowed way down in forward movement and it looks like th eye is headed for Georgia and the Carolina s, but the outer winds are something we are not hearing about and they appear to encompass a huge area in Florida. Well, we are prepared. I'm hoping we don't lose electricity or communications! And I hope it veers out to sea and not o other land areas!
Take care, and have a lovely weekend
Buzz0 -
We had a lovely day yesterday with Mike over and out visiting etc, The weather was a perfect 72 F.
Not so today. Just had the Bean out for a walk and the clouds are black and ominous. Brought Bean home in disgrace because she barked at another dog out for a walk which set all the indoor dogs barking as well. With it being Sunday and people probably having a lie in I hurried her home before we got told off. I hope the large peaceful dog she barked at didn't get the blame!
I'm told I got off lightly with my thin medical file transfer to the new doctor. $40 fee but apparently people with huge files often pay $200 and more.
Wishing everyone over here a happy and peaceful labour day weekend before the kids trudge back to school and fingers crossed that Dorian bypasses BUZZ, everyone else, and fizzles out in the Atlantic.
Hugs, Anne ♥️🙃♥️🐶

A busy weekend for me with so much to be organised, emails flying, items removed from the house sorted, friend's dogs and hens visited by me in their absence and in between a poultry auction where I bid for and won 6 new very sweet hens. They have settled in well and hopefully are safe from Mr Fox.
George's back is finally repairing and Betty is looking good even if she's not losing weight!
Time for my bed but I should have more time tomorrow to catch up properly.

Sorry I didn’t get here yesterday. Busy morning and got home to make lunch and settle in but then the texts started flying. My friend who has the increasing dementia disappeared. Her granddaughter went over to fix her pill box for the week and she was not in the house but her car was there. She never goes for a walk on her own. So there were hours of frantic group texts as people checked with others, drove around looking for her, checking with neighbors, etc. I was so upset. While people were out searching someone else drove over to her house and she was there. She is okay.
I still feel totally exhausted. Fitful sleep last night.
Maybe a nap before starting to tackle anything.
Buzz, you are on my mind and hope things are not disrupted.
Sandy, I hope your daughter is also safe.
Hugs everyone.
Lin1 -
Happy Monday! Happy Labor Day! We had fun at the ball game yesterday and then went out to eat even after having a hot dog at the park. Of course my scale showed it today but I haven't had time to ride my bike for several days. Today will be the last pool day so a sort of party will be going on with the pool friends I have made. My friend is also coming since her pool closed a couple of weeks ago. The last hoorah so to speak which means more weight gain. UGH!!!
Babe went to the ER yesterday due to stomach issues and they put him on a liquid diet for a week. I am sure he was eating all the wrong foods after his surgery. He sees his doctor tomorrow so hopefully he will give him the correct diet.
My daughter keeps telling me that she will be fine and that it should stay off the coast but it could always switch and hit land. She keeps saying they should just get tons of rain but until it is over I am still going to worry.
It seems like a busy weekend for all of us so tomorrow we should all be back to normal posting.
Have a great day.
Sandy

Bit of a weird weekend. After Flo's daughter phoned me in a complete state of hysteria about the state my old friend was in, she was carted off to the hospital whilst her DIL chucked out loads of Flo's possessions and cleaned her home. Flo phoned me every day for hours and obviously wasn't her old self. Then silence. I couldn't get hold of her in the hospital and finally in desperation I phoned the house and guess who answered! She's back home but it was like talking to a one syllable robot. Quite worried I then phoned the daughter. She told me all she was doing for her Mom, and had given Flo her cigarettes back despite the hospital weaning her off them. Just hope Flo doesn't burn the house down, plus herself and the cat. She is having gvt. carers every day and will eventually be moved to a home.
I've asked the daughter to let me know the next time Flo disappears! LIN will understand!
Hope the rest of the day is less traumatic!
Anne0 -
Lots of special meetings, information and preparation and starting tomorrow we will be having 3 meals per day until this scare is finished. My area is still under Hurricane Watch until it is well out to sea for more than one day, just in case it whips around and returns!
I've already lost this post once, so I'll move on to catch my mail, which is being ---
__________________________________________________________________________________________
On MY forum, (except a finished version!) yesterday, this showed up as posted just before SANDY's. Could this hurricane be playing games? So I'll post it now, with a few additions.
First, HAPPY LABOR DAY, with a special thanks to those Laborers who heled build our beautiful country! Where are those road, bridge and railroad builders now that we desperately need them?
We had our buffet lunch and the Evanses took some pictures to bring along to JACKIE when they meet for tea.
ANNE, what a frightful period this is for you, Flo and her mother! Mom cannot be left alone, really. It was situations like this that caused Mike and me to make the decision we made about moving before we needed to!
Hope SANDY's DD will be OK. No one knows the actual path yet and won't until it's petered out! The heavy showers we are getting are being termed "Feeder bands" by some residents, but since it is still in the Bahamas, moving about a mile an hour, they are more likely heavy local showers!
SO, I just posted this and now see 2 parts posted separately I don't know what happening!

Happy Labor Day! Hope everyone is safe and happy. We are not in the workforce any more like we used to be but all of us remember the joys and challenges of WORK!
Sunny and a bit warm. I will see if the deck is stable enough for a picnic. I am going to try to contact our son and guest to see about arrangements. I am glad they are not coming this weekend and labor day. Traffic is a nightmare. Our son has very little patience. But he is very “ planful.” He plans ahead on everything. The discipline of sailing teaches him that being spontaneous can be dangerous.
I had one of my special middle of the night asthma attacks. Horrible! Came through with one small puff on the inhaler. I hate using it. But I like breathing. The trigger was a very warm bedroom and too much blankets. Also Katie needs grooming and a bath. Pet dander came be a trigger for me as well.
Hope and pray that storm just shrinks into a rainy afternoon. Sending Buzz & Sandy’s family all good thoughts and pray for safety.
Patsy
