Hope you haven't got tree roots in your sewage pipe like I had three weeks ago PATSY. It cost $400 to fix. Anne.

I lost my entire post and this time it would not return! It was all good news, like my arthritis has finally settled down and I made it to the Loo without wincing this morning! My 2 pneumonia friend has "turned the corner" and is feeling a bit better! Another friend whom we worried is wasting away to nothing, we learned today that his CA is being held at bay, but due to the chemo he's on, he cannot tolerate eating shellfish, which he did not know until he lost over 10 pounds he badly needs! Bless the research program he's on, they forgot to tell him it could make him nauseous! And our weather is just plain gloriois!
My weight was back down this morning, but after my brunch of baked French Toast, potato pancakes, crisp bacon and scrambled eggs followed by chocolate cream pie ( I woldn't touch the crust!), I may skip the weigh in tomorrow!!! I have lost about 26 pounds and will try for at least that much more! S l o w l y!!! Now I will go over all the posts I skimmed prior to leaving this mess. Have a wonderful Sunday night!

Glad I went back and a HUGE WARM WELCOME to ALICE, though I have always felt she belonged here all along!
And fun and good luck with the car watch, JACKIE! You've had many years of enjoyment with your Citroen! Have you considered Volkswagons at all? Usually so reliable! All European cars are altered for sale in the States, since each has different requirements! I just love those silly little Smart Cars, but they'd be creamed here if ever hit by one of America's favorite Pick-Ups.
....And yes, JACKIE, I have not been getting my before midnight sleep for awhile again! I'm really quite undisciplined!
    Big hugs to you all!!!

Judy – So sad with regards to your son. Life truly goes by in the blink of an eye, but losing a child regardless of age is heartbreaking. There are no words… your post is a great reminder as you said “(to) hug your loved ones.” Wishing you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Bob

Morning Sneakers. Quickie from me. I stumbled out of bed, looked blearily at the clock and read 5:40. Rushed downstairs to put the washing on at the cheaper before 7 am rate. Back upstairs and slightly more wide awake, I peered at the clock to see I'd got its hands mixed up and it's actually 10 to 7 !
Hey, I'm two years old again, and learning how to tell the time, lol. So I've got 10 minutes at the cheap rate ! These dark mornings are the very devil when it comes to time judging.
    Off to eat my porridge.

Good morning sneakers. Not a bad start for me because I luckily watched a forecast yesterday so when I awoke to darkness and the sound of wind whistling round I got up in spite of it. Heavy rain due by noon! It was only 7.30 but meant we were able to walk round the local woods then stop off at a store for fresh straw to be spread in the chooks run and birthday wrap. The rain began to come down as I arrived home so by the time we reached the cottage we were all soaked and as my key went in the door there was a flash of lightening and crash of thunder. Dear George can hear it miles away so is having a good shout while I turn up the radio that’s playing Rod Stewart, Sting and Otis Reading amongst others.... mellow is what’s required right now 😌. I’m thinking it’s going to be an ideal wallpaper stripping day!

Buzz, I do very much like the VW Golf, in fact the friend I stayed with when in London drives one and we discussed its merits but although I feel it’s ideal for town and city driving, my needs lean towards either the new pretend SUV’s or a zippy car to get through our narrow country lanes. Of course colour is also important!!

Patsy, it’s silly how we become attached to inanimate possessions but yes, I’m delighted my old greenhouse has found a caring new home because I have warm memories of phone chats with my father as I struggled to construct it, in fact halfway through the project I realised I was about to encircle an apple tree! His advice was invaluable and I know he was so pleased I was asking because depression in his later years crushed him at times. I sense he’ll be smiling at us Friday when it’s dismantled!

It’s still raining but the storm has passed so I’m going to make a cheese omelette with salad for lunch as my little chooks have begun laying eggs then attack the wallpaper. George has stopped barking and KD Lang is singing so all is good!

A happy peaceful Monday everyone ❤️

    Good day-

I have a few errands to do and I may try a new afternoon book club. (Yes, I have read the book.) Meanwhile, I am cooking black beans in the Instant Pot. I have run out of soup so need to start making some edibles for the week. All the raw veggies I have are cleaned and in containers in the refrigerator. Not enough for the week though. Some shopping is in my future.

Patsy, sorry about the problems at your house. It seems they come in bunches. Sometimes expensive bunches. Argh! Or maybe that is just in my house since I am not a bit handy.

Anne, darn, missed the lower rate. I don’t think your eyes were wide open when you looked at the clock. Now if you had the intrusive devices in your house, you could just have said, Alexa—what time is it? I do that now, no glasses needed. 😉

Sandy, have a good time today. Sounds like fun. Exhausting, but fun.

Buzz, do you have your oxygen concentrator sorted out now? I was talking to a friend at church and he was upset about his medical device. They cannot seem to get him fitted properly and he is losing sleep. Anyway, it made me think of you and just wanted to check to see if all is well with your oxygen now.

Jackie, busy lady indeed. Happy car hunting. In the old days, you could actually order a car, model, color, accessories and all. Now it seems you must buy off the lot as the dealer just orders a selection of vehicles. All seem to be totally loaded with things to bring up the cost! Excellent news that the current greenhouse will have another life!

All best wishes to everyone. Health and Happiness ❤️❤️

    Hugs.

Senior Golden Sneakers - I have missed being a part of this group. I had a different user name when I was with you previously. (I am Marcella) I lost weight and eventually even cancelled by MFP account. 2019, however, was not my best year and I gained about 30 pounds. So, I am back on MFP. I remembered how much I used to look forward to the daily posts with each of you. So, I hope to be able to participate once more. 2020 will be a year full of changes. But I'm back to logging my food, staying within calories and being more active.

    Birthday: December 15, 1957
    Current Weight: 172.5
    Goal Weight: 132

Hello MARCELLA. I've changed my name over the years as well, mainly because I kept losing MFP in my early days, but I've been Gawanne for some time now. Belated Happy Birthday! 🎈🎈🎈

I just popped in to say to LIN I've just finished off the batch of soup I made on Saturday. It was black beans, (I see you are cooking them Lin) Savoy cabbage, onion, carrot, potato, green beans, stock and anything else lurking in the veg box. It was absolutely delicious and improved with age. So good I think I'll make it again when Michael finally shows up. With crusty bread it should be good for him recovering from THE VIRUS and it won't hurt for him to go vegetarian for a change. He can always gallop into McDonalds on his way home!

Welcome back, Marcella, and good luck...........and a belated birthday wish!
My phone has not stopped ringing today with calls from people I love who all have almost unsolvable problems! Serious problems. I must count my blessings, but I am late and worn out!
JACKIE, isn't the British racing color green? What color is your choice? I used to know each country's racing color but now only recal British green, and was it Italian red? I think French: blue and German: silver! Gotta run now.
Did read all posts today, in between calls!

Hello everyone! Wet and wild here. The wind is blowing the rain against the windows and rattling the doors. I guess we need sweet Baroque music and I am dusting under everything to get rid of this lingering sinus irritation. Reaction to dust, mildew etc. it is an unfortunate part of living here next to the ocean. Good to keep me on my toes and dusting where ever I can reach.

I am trying to get back to my hour long exercise sessions. I have been slacking off so often, I now will need to slowly build back. It is almost funny about my fitness or lack there of. I have to determinedly push each day to stay at a level, then if I slack off just a few days...all is lost. I have to work hard to come back to that level again. I never was an exercise enthusiast.

Anne: I was laughing because when I try to get our son to consider a veggies life style, he resists loudly! He eats the worst diet possible. Hamburgers, fried food, fast food, deli food! It is a wonder he is still walking around. John says it is the nature of the young and middle aged. They are invincible!

Jackie: buying a car is scary stuff. John reads something called the blue book of cars for the right price and worth of a car. He has some sort of idea about cars made in Japan vs other places. Our son has a very expensive BMW. Getting anything fixed on that car is so expensive it is a scandal. He is now going to sell it in favor of something else.

Lin: I am so devoted to my instant pot, I could get by with just that one appliance. Well! That and my coffee pot. Seriously. I steam veggies, boil eggs, I have made yoghurt and a really good veggie lasagna in my instant pot.

Buzz: hope you are doing well and causing a ruckus there in your facility. I often feel it is important to “let ‘em know you are here!” The current state of the world is so unstable, we are having fun in spite of it all. Have you seen the Irishman yet? Over 3 hours long. I had to take it in three days. Good grief, I almost forgot one episode from the next.

Sandy: sounds like a fun but exhausting day. Is this with all three kiddos in tow? That would need superwoman to take that on.

Marcella: hi there! I am glad you are back with us. For me, I am always striving and the support and understanding here is wonderful. No matter where one is on the journey toward good health and fitness. Plus it is great to share a bit of our life and our challenges....like a stopped up drain!

    And so I continue,

Such a grey, dismal morning I walked the dogs round the block rather than risk getting us lost on the moors. Low cloud and mist drifts across but it is at least mild although definitely not a day to be working outdoors. A load of washing is now hanging on a dryer in my dining room because I was running out of the basics being unable to use my garden washing line. Every time I pass a section of wallpaper in the same room I peel more off and can see what a lot of work will be involved smoothing the limewash to a level I can then paint. Never mind, much like the jobs needing to be completed at the bottom of my garden, this can be done over the next couple of months.

I'm going back to vegetarian meals too once the freezer has been emptied of meat although will still eat fish for now even though we hear horror stories of us humans now consuming large quantities of plastic microparticles in their flesh. Just before Christmas as I drove to my hair appointment I found myself following a small farm trailer that had 2 beautiful black and white cows looking out the back watching the view and occasionally me! They did make me smile as they seemed to be enjoying themselves but as we neared the town they turned off and it was then I realised they were on their way to the local abattoir. I was devastated and even had tears in my eyes but the previous week I'd made beef stew so I decided no point being precious about it but instead stop eating meat for once and for all. We all have different reasons for becoming vegetarian but that's mine.

Buzz, you are correct, the British racing car green is very retro and popular right now in some makes of car so I'm sure it is nostalgia hitting me rather than any sensible consideration, in fact reviews I've read of the Fiat aren't great.
    67qp3mwr5z59.jpg
If only Citroen would move off their boring black, white, grey and silver cars I'd snap one up! I'm waiting to see what comes out in the new February stock but have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed.

Patsy, my older brother owned an E type Jaguar once upon a time that I always considered to be his midlife crisis purchase and like your son's BMW it spent most of its life in a garage until he finally either got over the crisis or ran out of money, I was never sure which!!

Hello Marcella, it's great to see you back with us although obviously not for the reasons why! I've found it far too easy to put pounds on that will take a long time to get off again but that's the unfair thing about our weight isn't it. I feel the sneakers have moved on from much talk of diets these days, especially as we've got to know each other so well and it will be great to have you join in with the chats, whatever the subject.

Anne, on our news yesterday it was mentioned McDonalds have come up with a vegetarian "Whopper" or whatever they call those enormous burgers but the trouble is they have to be cooked on the same grill as the meat ones so can't be eaten by vegetarians..... you would imagine they could afford a separate grill in each outlet wouldn't you!! :D

Lin, back to a car, I can order any colour I want but would have to wait for one to arrive from a factory but am looking at late 2019 vehicles at the moment that would save me several thousand pounds for just a small amount of added mileage. We'll see. :)

Sandy, are you recovered from your day out? You may have posted while I'm typing so will check after I hit post reply.

Time for a cup of tea! Have a peaceful day everyone.
    Jackie

Hello JACKIE, following those cows would have had me in tears as well. As it is I'm heartbroken by the loss of half a billion animals burnt in the Australian bush fires. Did you see on your news the dead cows lining the fields! I think they had been trying to reach the road. When you think of all the wailing and chest beating going on for one evil man it doesn't make sense that these war mongers don't understand they would be so much more tolerated if they channelled their energies into saving wild life and feeding the hungry. Then there was the beautiful dog tied to a huge rock and thrown into the river Trent. She survived by keeping her head on a rock just above the water. Two lady dog walkers, just like you, compassionate, waded in and rescued the frozen girl. She's recovering at a vets, but just unimaginable cruelty! *

Meanwhile we've just got back from the mailboxes with a handful of......Christmas cards! Then this afternoon Mark is helping out by taking me and Bean to the pet store for her favourite treats. She's almost out with Michael being absent. And that's a disaster brewing! We won't see Mike again on Friday because he has to work the day shift with his partner being sent on a refresher course. He's still not completely over THE VIRUS judging by the coughing and spluttering heard over the phone.

Today is my 7th meatless day, although I will occasionally eat fish and eggs. Can't say I've missed it!
In fact like LIN I'm finding my meatless meals very tasty now I'm armed with the new vegetarian book!

Sorry to be such a downer today. There are times when I just give up. Helen will write today. No news being good news I hope from before Christmas. The last time I heard from her the fire engines were racing past and she was cutting foliage near the house.
    Hugs from Anne.
*. PS. The dog found locked inside a suitcase by joggers in a Toronto park now recovering at the vets.

Happy Tuesday! :) After sleeping 9 hours and 51 minutes according to my fitbit, I am well rested but having tummy issues this morning. I bought some zzzz gummies to help me sleep but I don't think they are agreeing with me. I will stop taking them and see if that corrects the issues but if not, then a visit to the doctor will be my next step although I really don't want to go through another colonoscopy I might have too. Ugg.
I am sitting later this afternoon if my tummy settles so Lisa can run her errands and go to her meeting. Tomorrow finally I can get a haircut since my girl is back after having a baby in November. Life should be getting back to normal soon and as soon as I am able back to riding the recumbent bike to get rid of these holiday pounds.

Jackie, I would love to get a Honda CRV but I just can't afford a car payment. Did I mention I scraped my car and put a small dent on the fender? I hit a pole protecting the gas pump which was much better that hitting the pump. It is not horrible but I think it would be too expensive to fix and I don't want to claim it on my insurance. My car is a 2012 so probably will just have my son buff it out and put a little paint on it to make it more presentable.

Patsy, I think every January we all say we are going to make out goal weight and most of the time we do but than life gets in the way. We did survive with the three kiddos, but there were three adults so it was fine. I even got Charlie to sleep in her stroller which was great.

Buzz, you must be the compassionate person your friends and family call. They know you will be comforting and kind.

Anne, are you saying Michael hasn't shown up since his illness? Is he doing better? I know that I am tired of having a cough even though it is better but this has been going on since November.

Marcella, good to hear from you again, welcome back. Happy belated birthday and join us in getting rid of unwanted pounds. Jackie and I post on the pound a week club, so feel free to join us.

Lin, it was not too exhausting as I did get home late afternoon. I was afraid we would close the place but we managed to see everything and get home early.

I think I will try to eat something although I am having tummy pains. I hope this year turns around soon, things haven't been too good so far.

Sorry about the tummy pains SANDY. Michael was off work for two weeks over Christmas and although he's been back at the office for a few days still isn't well. Remember the Caribbean wedding. Well, the bridegroom Rob is still not 100% and that's been over a month. It's an awful thing and I've read that in China a SARS similar virus is hitting people, but it's not SARS.
    Please take care everyone.
    Anne.
No I haven't seen him for three weeks plus because he's scared I'll get whatever is ailing him.

Windy and overcast today. There is a threat of rain at any moment. It is winter and that is the nature of winter here on the north Oregon coast. Some people lock up their house and scoot off to sunnier climes. Sounds good to me but John and Katie, the labradoodle, call me a wimp!

We had a coast guard incident here. One of the coast guard small rescue vessels got caught in several large wakes and was capsized! There were 4 crew aboard but they were rescued. Also our local radio station has their aerial out in a local bay. The wind and bad weather has taken down the aerial. No local AM radio. We do have local FM. Mostly odd music and weird chat shows. I do have have a significant CD collection. All is well!

I do understand giving up meat. John is devoted to animal protein. He has given up beef and pork but still clings to chicken and fish. I often just ignore that and fix a good veggie meal that he enjoys. It is good that we have civilizing influences in this household! Ho ho ho

For me it is best to be as kind and caring to any animal that I can. Reading about people who are heartless and cannot connect with animals makes me a crazy person. I feel such rage and anger! Recognizing that, I will do my best not to fall into the trap of concentrating on human cruelty.

Take care of yourselves! I need you!

    Hello friends.

Welcome back Marcella. Please join in and talk about anything you wish to discuss. It is helpful to have people to back you up!

Sandy, I am glad you had a good time and that you were able to get a good night’s rest. I know you said you have a busy week. Lots of week remains! Take care. I read an article that says this winter a cough is associated with a virus that is prevalent. I hope you are feeling better and that the kids are well.

Patsy, yes, the Instant Pot is a very handy appliance but I need a Vitamix, a Breville oven and a microwave as well. All are marvelous!

Anne, I am glad you will be stocking up on treats. Hopefully the Bean has not been worried! Certainly no one wants to spread any kind of illness although who knows when you are contagious, best to be cautious.

Buzz, how are you today. Is the phone still ringing off the hook? Gosh, that would tire me out.

Jackie, what a cute little green car! We were playing Mah Jongg this morning when the topic of cars came up. It seems a lady’s husband kind of surprised her. Apparently without telling her, he purchased a Porsche and they have to drive out of state to pick it up. She is not thrilled overall. Her hubby loves Porsches and they have had a number of them over the years but my friend is not really interested in driving North in the winter to pick it up. She will have to drive a car home, not the Porsche but she would rather it be spring.

So yes, we played Mah Jongg this morning, I stopped at the health food store for their discount day. Some things were already on sale so overall, I was happy with my purchases. After lunch I went to the library to pick up the items they were holding for me. Since they had been closed for a while, my stack got rather large. 😂. I see much reading in my future.

I need to work on a birthday card. Again. Seems I am always finding yet another card to make. Not really a bad thing but I no longer like deadlines.

Well, time to change clothes and dig into the paper pile. 🙄

Hugs from always meatless Linda 😉

And we need you, too, PATSY! Your unique approach to many things is both educational and enjoyable! Horrors about that Coast Guard boat but glad no one was lost! Of all the services my son has been attached to, he found the Coast Guard the warmest caring place because they are taught to save lives. I think he is transferring to an airfild my dear Mike was stationed at before air conditioning (WW2)...
My pneumonia- stricken neighbor/dear friend is being discharged from the hospital today and will be in our rehab department until fully recovered. Hoorah!
Saw the nice podiatrist here today and she change the treatment for my infeccted toe. She wants me sleeping with my feet up on a wedge and sitting with raised legs until the swelling is down. She thinks my toes look like sausages! Never once did she mention trying to sell me orthotics! (Big money maker in Florida!)
SANDY, Does sucking sweet throat soothers help at all with your cough? Or steamy chicken soup? You must feel exhausted!
JACKIE, that SUV looks quite sleek! What is it? You, ANNE, and LIN have very soft spots for all living things. So sad to watch the eyes of an animal about to leave us. Unless it's an iguana
    04e3l4txd0zj.png
with which Florida is overrun this year! Huge families of them everywhere! It doesn't matter if they don't eat people, they eat everything else! And it's criminal to kill them! Some are several feet long and thick! The teeny babies are funny and cute!
Ouch, severe RLS makes me have to get up and walk about, so next on my list should be a neurologist! See you all tomorrow!

Just a quickie to let you know my cousin and her family are all safe in Australia. She says the heat and especially the smoke are a problem though. It has cooled down a bit. She has three tanks of rainwater in the garden to put out any embers that might drift over. Apparently there is a mountain between them and the flames.
So, I'm feeling a little bit more like my usual cheerful self. I was very worried about them.
    Night night,
Anne and Bean, (who's now stocked up with treats).

Nice to see a familiar name, Marcella, but I am trying to recall who you are. Thinking you lived in the midwest and traveled with your husband on occasion, plus did you have an rv ? Apparently I had someone by the name of 6 Cookys appear on my fitbit per my husband. Couldn't figure out who that was, but did see a photo of her and recognized her. We knew she had moved to Idaho. Darn if I can remember her name. Karen ??? This memory of my mine is slacking off a bit these days.

Jackie that car is quite cute. So many of the cars are the same colors year after year now. My sil picked up a used mini cooper for my granddaughter. Such a cute car and love the light turquoisish color with the black top. After learning on moms automatic she had to learn a 5 speed just to drive her little car. Fits her personality. Hope you are able to find what you are looking for quickly.

Buzz glad to hear that you are getting around a bit more these days. It is easy to slip into the late at night mode, but there is late and then too late. I try to get to bed by 11. Glad I don't have a work schedule any longer.

Lin...You don't use an Instant Pot ? My daughter loves her Vitamix, but that Breville oven was pretty tempting when I saw it at Christmas. Lack counter space....oh well. Enjoy your new books. Pretty enticing with a cup of tea on these chilly afternoons.

Anne....Glad that your son is starting to feel a bit better. My dr today warmed me to stay out of crowds right now because of this horrible virus going around. I know Sandy can attest for how awful it is. The Bean will have a hard time without his snacks. Our dog is spoiled a bit too much and lets you know when it is snack time. I swear he can tell time by the gongs on the clock. Being 10 yrs old he is getting fussy with his food also. Never mind I give him scrambled eggs for breakfast a couple of days a wk and then wonder why he won't eat his kibble on the other days. LOL

Sandy have you tried some Halls cough drops ? My virus that I had in Nov went on for a month and of course to my chest. After a drs appt to be sure it was just a virus I started on the cough drops for that irritating tickle. They seem to do the trick, plus getting more rest. You are such a good grandma to those cute kids !!

Patsy....so you and the Instant Pot have also become friends. I too dabble in my useage of one also. Have only had 1 "burn" situation. By reading the site I have learned a lot and also have figured out what I would use it for and what not. Very easy to eat all of the foods that give you too many calories for me. I need to find a good low carb instant pot cookbook. Chicken Alfredo etc are very tasty, but not kind to me since I am not as active as I should be.

I need to make some changes in my diet, exercise etc. My dr did a dexascan and I now have osteoporosis. Definitely not something I needed to add to my medical history, so we are trying to figure out what rx to take for that without creating other issues. The joys of getting older.

Well it is past my bewitching hour, so time to get to bed. Take care of yourselves and be careful of those icy walk ways and roads.

Hi Diane, your mystery person is Chris. And I use the Instant Pot a lot. In fact I have different sizes. I use the smaller one for a little batch of oatmeal or quinoa, the larger one for cooking soup. I make vegetavle soup often. Always different depending on what I have to throw in the pot. I was just saying that is not my only beloved kitchen appliance. 😂

Sorry to hear of the osteoporosis. Finding the best of course of action is always difficult.

Time to get going, need a big Trader Joe’s trip today. Go early or miss the best vegetables and fruits.

    Hugs.

    Good morning,
Diane - Yes, I am the one with the camper but live in the southeast part of the U.S. in Georgia. Also, not traveling with the husband any more.

Jackie - I also recently traded vehicles. I traded my full-size 4 door truck for a mid-size bright orange Chevrolet Colorado. Good luck with your search for the perfect car for you.

I have also traded my 30 foot camper for a much smaller one that is just under 18 feet long. It can sleep up to 4 people, but is perfect for 1 person. Looking forward to using the camper this Spring to spend time visiting with friends and family in North Florida. As the for the husband, the divorce should be final by the end of February or sooner. Not how I planned to spend my 60s. But at this point, it’s actually something of a relief and I’m able to wake up each day feeling more positive and hopeful for the future.

Hello sneakers. A late post today from me as I should really be in bed but wanted to read your posts first. It’s very mild, even at night but I can hear the wind has picked up and now whistles down my chimney so it could be blowing a different weather system my way.
Today I walked the pooches on the moors, starting off wearing sunglasses which made me feel Spring isn’t too far away. The gorse bushes are bursting forth too which makes for a cheery stroll!

After walking I drove into town to fill my car then buy a few items before heading home to roll up my sleeves and wash the inside of the old greenhouse ready for its new owner. I’m trying very hard to continue to watch what I eat and a couple of times stood by an open cupboard door telling myself off for even considering a vegan biscuit.... not difficult as they appear to be 95% sugar!

Anne, good news from Australia for you but yes, the devastating news about their wildlife and farm animals is awful and doesn’t bear thinking about although so many kind and brave people are doing their best to save any they find alive even if badly injured.

Oh Marcella I’m so sorry about the changes in your personal life but genuinely impressed by your attitude to get on with life... good for you! Your description of your “mid size” Chevrolet Colorado made me giggle. Honestly sweetheart, it looks huge from where I come from!! Love the colour and also the dinky camper which looks adorable.

Diane, I too love the Mini Cooper but It’s no good for me because my long legs would end up wrapped round the steering wheel or knees under my chin! 😄. A friend was diagnosed with osteoporosis a few years ago and I gather there are options when it comes to medicines so I hope you do find something that doesn’t compromise others you may be on.

Buzz, the car in yesterday’s photo I posted is the Fiat 500 that I liked the look of but has some average to bad reviews so I think best avoided. Something will jump out at me soon I’m sure.

Hmm, I’ll lose everything if I turn back a page so had better finish. Ah, that reminds me, the “finish” bit that is, has anyone seen the newly elected Finnish government ministers. Wow, maybe a sign of things to come in other countries soon.

Phew, thought I’d lost the post but it didn’t disappear, just posted before I signed off. The Finnish Prime Minister is the young woman with long dark hair and the others also have high positions... brilliant.

    NIte, nite

Good morning! Not much from me I'm afraid. Life is very slow and peaceful here nestled in the snow so really nothing to write about, BUT I've loved reading about everyone else's busy days.
PLUS, I've finally unblocked my "writers" block and spent a good part of the day working on THE BOOK. Children's that is.
Hopefully things will wake up and The Bean and I will have something exciting to report, but not TOO exciting! There's enough of that on the news isn't there with volatile presidents, excitable wailing people, and emigrating? Princes, not to mention naughty older ones. Everything is business as usual with the human race. lol.

Happy Thursday! :) Meeting day then to Walmart for some items. I won a pull tab at bingo so I am a happy camper. :) Tomorrow another exciting adventure with the kiddos and Lisa. We are going to Dinosaurs Adventures. https://www.dinosauradventure.com/about/ Not cheap so Lisa and I are splitting the cost. We are getting the boys the VIP tickets which includes, face painting, a T Shirt and a backpack. I just hope they aren't afraid of the big life like dinosaurs.

Time to eat and get ready, Thursdays are busy days.

Good morning all! I had such a long post yesterday...just chock-a-block full of pearls of wisdom! However!!!!! My post did one of those evaporating things, PUFF and gone. So discouraging. So I am giving it another try today.

Rain, rain, rain. It has been so nasty out, Katie just runs out and does her buusiness then runs back inside. Wet Towels and muddy rugs are part of the decor here.

As you can imagine I have been walking around screaming at the TV news and wailing at the radio news. John has banned the news today in order to try to rescue my crazed mental state. It might be a very good plan.

I will be making a trip to Home Depot for a small bag of potting soil to repot some house plants, maybe I will find something new and interesting in their plant department. No Katie shopping now. That huge disaster when she knocked over a huge display made her unwelcome there. I can’t blame them.

January is a month that (except for Sandy) I think we tend to be like bears, we enjoy hibernation. Cold snowy, wet foggy weather makes a snuggle under a warm blanket very apppealing. I have no exciting activities but I am thinking about stirring something up. Sitting in front of the computer, repotting some sad and neglected plants, dusting and slowly refurbishing the wood furniture with yearly lemon-beeswax conditioner, a bit of time this evening in the dungeon. John will be watching an action-thriller on TV. Not my cup of tea, you might say. I am happy that he has something engaging that he will enjoy.

Dinner is tortilla soup and a salad.
    Be healthy and stay safe,
    Patsy☘️

Where has my day gone? Out early with the pooches while the sun was shining and enjoyed a lovely walk on the moors while George sniffed every blade of grass and generally ignored every call of his name, naughty boy! As we returned to the car park I noticed dark clouds drifting in off the Atlantic and while I stopped to talk to a lady with 3 rescued Cavalier King Charles that had all been rejected by a breeder because of minor issues like blindness in one eye or wrong pattern of coat colouring the sun disappeared. At least we made it home before the rain arrived.

Brady has popped through his cat flap which tells Betty and George it’s time for dinner and they’re all now fussing. My meal is a baked jacket potato, mixed salad and mackerel. Two small uninviting pork chops have been dropped into my wormer because I can’t face them!
